“We had them cater for our wedding and got nothing but compliments on the food. They were ready to serve as soon as we told them we were ready. We had five boxes of leftover catfish and chicken to take home at the end of the night. Very reasonably priced. We’ve been to other events they’ve catered as well and they never disappoint. Thank you again!“

“Went for lunch today, 8.5.22. Tacho was my waiter. He was very nice and prompt. I had my complimentary chips and salsa while waiting on my chicken chimichanga lunch. The chips were fresh and salted perfectly. Both the regular and hot salsa were good. My chicken chimi was tasty and hot. Great lunch spot for this area.“

“I do not normally leave reviews for restaurants so this is special. The 4 star rating for the food is only because I have visited only 1 time and there are a lot of options to choose from. The burritos supremos I had was excellent though. The staff seemed friendly and the food was prepared quickly. I would have preferred a little better lighting for those of us with slight vision problems but the decor is pleasant and relaxing. Will update rating after a few more trips and different menus selections....“

“A surprisingly good hidden gem in KC! Fine dining, it ain't. But what you do get is food elevated above the typical pub, decent service and comfortable surroundings.

Tried the pork chop and short rib ravioli - both were hits. Again, have I had better versions of both dishes? Yes, even if just limiting that to KC. But they were tasty dishes at a reasonable price point and worth your visit for a casual dinner out. I'll be back!“

“I came in as a single diner, the service IMPECCABLE. The food IMMACULATE. The atmosphere was light and casual in the mid day with a lot of natural light from big windows but could be more romantic at night with the lighting. This might be my new favorite place.“

“My wife is a vegetarian, and had a procedure nearby where she couldn't eat the day before. We went there for breakfast, MANY options for her. At that point she was still a bit "loopy", and later in the day after we were home, she realized she did NOT have her wallet!! I went online, found an email, contacted them LONG after hours, and in < 2 minutes, the owner emailed back, said his manager had indeed found her wallet, it was in the vault, and she could collect it the next day during business hours. When she went to collect it, the server even recognized her when she went in. He said they ran outside trying to catch us, but we were already gone. They would NOT take ANY reward for their honesty and going out of the way for us!!! I can't say ENOUGH good things about Rize N Shine. The FOOD was TERRIFIC, and the STAFF was top of the line!! HIGHLY recommend, we live 30 miles away, but WILL make it a point to stop by there to eat when in the area, due to their great food and FANTASTIC customer service!!!!“

“I read the reviews and just knew I had to go here. I never really gave it a second thought because of all the other places had higher star ratings. But let me tell you, this is the best to-go or delivery chinese food you're getting in Overland Park. Maybe even farther out. I happen to LOVE the place across the street (ABC), but they're not the same thing AT ALL. So don't try to compare them. I finally gave in and read the reviews and knew this was the place for me. When I lived on the Missouri side, the best chinese food was at a place with a person that some called mean or abrasive, and most of those customers deserved the attitude they received. In ten years I only saw the "mean" side once. So when I saw similar reviews to my favorite midtown spot, I knew I had to go. I personally didn't experience any mean behavior and definitely wasn't treated bad at all. The food was great, was made fast, and the crab rangoons were soooo good. I had those, fried wontons, and the beef lo mein combo with fried rice. While I wouldn't order the fried wontons again (first time trying them honestly), I will only ever eat here when I'm craving beef lo mein (and excited to try some other dishes) and crab rangoons. There's so many places that have good ratings that are absolutely bland trash. If you want flavor, go to this place. I've spent twelve years living blocks away. Don't even know how long they've been there, but that's how many years I've been missing out.“

The restrooms were kind of old and gross in a way that even a good deep clean would not totally solve. Still, I'm giving a five star review because the current rating doesn't do this place justice.“
