“Everyone was very quick to help us. I enjoyed the taxidermy and fish. The all you can eat menu is wonderful, and the waitress was always close to make sure if you needed anything they'd be there. Wonderful place, definitely worth the drive.“

“Growing up, I always loved Long Johns. Stores are slowly depleting sadly enough. I always stop at this one when I have appointments or solo clubing to the city and was never disappointed. Always fast and reliable service! Good job to your evening team 💜💯“

“The BEST Asian restaurant in the Northland! The food is absolutely amazing—every dish we’ve tried has been outstanding. The sushi is fresh and delicious, and the attention to detail is top-notch. You have to try the crab wontons—they’re a must! We just had the Tokyo crispy chicken, and it was so flavorful and perfectly cooked. Honestly, I haven’t had a single thing here that I didn’t love. Chris, the owner, always greets us with a warm smile, and he and his staff make you feel truly welcome every time. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and such a friendly atmosphere—Saki is hands down our favorite spot!“

“District Pour House and Kitchen was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Highly recommend the seafood dip, truffle fries, and the bayou salmon—each dish was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. The Restaurant Week menu offered solid, well-curated options for a full four-course meal, making it an excellent value. If you’re lucky, the peanut butter pie might be the dessert of the day—imagine a Reese’s peanut butter cup taken to the next level. Absolutely delicious and worth every bite. Can’t wait to return!“

“Friends took me out for my 91st birthday and I requested Paulo's. Been there many times for 45 years. Always order chicken Piccata. Had garlic bread which was excellent. My order came and There was about a full cup of mashed potatoes with a small chicken breast on it. About 2". Chicken was not very tender and I ate the lunch in about 5 bites. Cost $16. no veggies or salad. Gentleman came over and asked how everything was and I told him . Portion was so small. He was very nice and took my lunch price off the bill. I will be back one more time because I really always liked it there. Also had lunch at 2:30 and no one else there but 3 people at the bar. I hope there is some improvement in the portions of some memu items in the future.“

“We’ve actually never dined in at this place either. It seen they are more often pick up and to go.
very lack of dine in, but its quite place, we had our food with to go too.
And in a way, that makes everything
I’m about to say feel even more genuine.
without the restaurant atmosphere adding to the experience, what remains is the food itself, and the people behind it.
From the very first pickup, you can feel that this is a place with real warmth.
The woman at the front often alongside her husband has this natural, easygoing energy that immediately puts you at ease.
She’s a good conversationalist too, and over time, she even remembers what you like to order
a small gesture, but it makes you feel recognized, seen. She doesn’t have to try to impress you; she simply makes you feel welcome.
Of course, there are busy moments when she and her husband are running around and might not greet you right away
and that’s completely understandable. It’s a small, family run place, not a polished chain.
But even in those moments, they always offer the best smiles.
If something is ever forgotten in your order, they don’t just let it slide; they communicate promptly, and sometimes even call to have it delivered to your home. You can feel that it’s done out of genuine care, not obligation.
The food carries the same kind of attention. It’s thoughtful, comforting, and consistent.
Nothing feels rushed or careless. Every dish is prepared with intention, and even on busy days, the quality remains steady.
It’s the kind of cooking that quietly earns your trust, and over time, that trust grows into appreciation.
I sometimes read reviews that label this place as “bad,” and I honestly can’t understand them. Some feel less like honest feedback and more like people arriving already frustrated, ready to criticize instead of noticing the effort and care. There’s a difference between pointing out issues and dismissing a good, hardworking restaurant outright.
This isn’t a restaurant trying to be flashy or trendy. It doesn’t pretend to be something it isn’t. It’s a small, family-run Chinese spot doing its best and doing it with sincerity, warmth, and consistency. Those qualities don’t always show up in pictures or quick judgments, but they matter more than anything once you experience them.
I will absolutely be coming back. Not because the place dazzles you, but because it makes you feel genuinely welcome, and the food quietly reminds you why it’s worth returning. That combination — care in the food and in the people is what makes a small restaurant unforgettable.“

“Been craving LJS since the $6.
99 shrimp basket commercials started. Haven't been in awhile, as the one nearest me closed quite awhile ago. Turns out, there's only a handful left in the KC metro. LSS...everything was perfect and as good as I remember from back in the day.“

“Just left a review for Mariscos KC — and it’s well deserved. As someone who has personally serviced their kitchen equipment, I can honestly say both locations keep an extremely clean and professional back of the house. Their kitchens are spotless, organized, and very well maintained, which says a lot about how much they care about quality and their customers. The staff is always friendly, respectful, and welcoming every time I’ve been there. You can tell they take pride in both their food and customer service. If you’re looking for great seafood in Kansas, this is definitely the place to visit. Great people, great atmosphere, and great food. Highly recommend supporting this local business!“
