“I used the Kiosk to order. Kiosks have hand sanitizer dispenser available at each kiosk.
They were all empty. So how many people touched the kiosk screens before me? How many had unwashed hands, or colds, or who knows what other germs and diseases?
It was only 10:30 am. I would think company policy and training would require refilling dispensers at the beginning of a shift in the morning. Unsanitary.“

“In August 2021, Hamburger Mary's Kansas City reported that the establishment would require proof of COVID-19 vaccination. I assumed the requirement had been lifted; however, I wanted to be sure I was prepared (I am vaccinated; my friend is not). Not to mention, I work in an academic/healthcare setting where masks & vaccination status are a daily consideration, so it's something still on my mind. Therefore, I sent Hamburger Mary's a very quick question via Facebook. Attached is a photo of the response I received. My question was in no way impolite, so I'm not sure why the business felt the need to say anything other than no. I'm not easily offended, but I also don't appreciate being spoken to in such a snarky manner for what I considered a perfectly reasonable & respectful question. I was really looking forward to visiting (and donating to a worthy cause!), but I have decided to celebrate my birthday elsewhere.“

“Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Our group of 14 arrived here today at the Shawnee location for lunch. We were met by friendly staff and seated right away. Once we ordered our food, it arrived quickly! We were impressed! All 14 orders were correct, served hot and fresh, and so good!! Great size portions! The service was absolutely great! Refills were quick. The atmosphere is so fun! We all enjoyed our food arriving by train. The kids had a great time. and only 2 little ones had a nugget and few fries left. Everyone devoured their food. It's definitely a must experience! We will definitely be back! ☆☆☆☆☆“

“Good golly these burgers and fries are delicious. Those burgers are like elevated diner classics. Very good flavor. The fries may...may...outshine the burgers. Crispy exterior, delicious fluffy interior. If they had an array of sauces like those pommes frites places, they could just be serving fries, they are that good. Did not disappoint. Will be back. Depending on which way the wind is blowing you might get some funky smells from the city market trash cans, and your drinks are behind you, not where you order your burgers. Who would ever think you could get drinks in the same place you get burgers?!? that's just wild!“

“Date night. Great place to go. Huge selection of drinks and awesome food. I had a salad with salmon that was one of the vest salads i have ever had and my boyfriend had a bourbon burger and said it was "perfect". We had the loaded spud app and shared the pretzel dessert....the best beginning and ending we could want. Our server, Heather, was so sweet and talked us through a lot of our options. She was super attentive. We will definitely be heading back!“

Food: UNREAL! So unique and tasty. The chorizo was so good we asked if we could buy it (you can!). As a sweet plantain lover, I was so excited to get them on a burger. This has to be in the conversation for best burger in Kansas City.

Pro tip: get the 3 sauces for the fries.“

“Checked out the place because I loved what I had seen online. I was greeted promptly and efficiently at the hostess stand. I was quickly seated. I reviewed the menu and my server greeted me quickly. I asked her for her recommendation. She suggested the bourbon glaze burger. The burger was juicy flavorful and well seasoned. The server was available but not pushy. The manager also checked to be sure things were satisfactory. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. I will definitely return. If i were to make one suggestion, it would to not put all the garnish on the bottom bun.“

“Service was great. To no fault of their own, the city water line broke shutting down every restaurant. We were able to order lbs of meat to take home 👍. atmosphere was great since we were the only ones in there 👍. Food seemed to lack real smoked flavor, but still tasted good and juicy. “This place is a grab-n-go type of place. No dine-in area. Basically a convenience store with a carry-out restaurant. I got the tenderloin combo w/ fries and Philly cheesesteak combo w/ tots. Just order at the cash register and wait. 3 order in front of me and I waited about 15 mins. I enjoyed and recommend both sandwiches. The tenderloin was thin, but it balances with the buns and toppings. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious. It was a little smaller than I was expecting but the taste… it was mouthwatering good. There’s a bathroom. No dine-in. Go give this place a go.“

From start to end it was very pleasing.

I was there on the 20th of August 2026, at 12:30pm and the gentlemen at the pay window was the most pleasant person I've encountered at a fast food spot, he struck up conversation and wished me a lovely rest of my day, I was so happy!

The gentlemen at the pickup window was friendly and made sure I had everything right down to the sauce I didn't initially want.

The food was HOT, I ordered Whopper combo with fries, the burger was perfectly loaded with lettuce, tomato, mayo, onion, and ketchup, flavour was perfect, the fries were fresh and hot, and my Dr Pepper tastes like Dr Pepper which I am so happy about!!

I ordered at the drive thru but next time I will definitely go inside.

“This is not an upscale place. It is an old fashioned burger place, like something out of the movies. I'm old enough to remember the days of drive though burger/malt shops before the chains all took over. I live this and would choose it over McDonald's or Burger King every time.“

“Ordered buffalo tenders and got regular
on my way to work. Didn't realize it until I started eating in the car. I called to get a replacement. I was told to keep the regular tenders until after my shift and replace with the correct. I was hungry and of course ate before my shift. Partially my fault because I did not check my order before I left. Anthony at the window had great customer service food was good just not what I ordered. The male I spoke to on the phone was close minded to a mistake even being made. I wish this review had the option for me to upload a photo.“
