“Absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! Our group of 14 arrived here today at the Shawnee location for lunch. We were met by friendly staff and seated right away. Once we ordered our food, it arrived quickly! We were impressed! All 14 orders were correct, served hot and fresh, and so good!! Great size portions! The service was absolutely great! Refills were quick. The atmosphere is so fun! We all enjoyed our food arriving by train. The kids had a great time. and only 2 little ones had a nugget and few fries left. Everyone devoured their food. It's definitely a must experience! We will definitely be back! ☆☆☆☆☆“

“In August 2021, Hamburger Mary's Kansas City reported that the establishment would require proof of COVID-19 vaccination. I assumed the requirement had been lifted; however, I wanted to be sure I was prepared (I am vaccinated; my friend is not). Not to mention, I work in an academic/healthcare setting where masks & vaccination status are a daily consideration, so it's something still on my mind. Therefore, I sent Hamburger Mary's a very quick question via Facebook. Attached is a photo of the response I received. My question was in no way impolite, so I'm not sure why the business felt the need to say anything other than no. I'm not easily offended, but I also don't appreciate being spoken to in such a snarky manner for what I considered a perfectly reasonable & respectful question. I was really looking forward to visiting (and donating to a worthy cause!), but I have decided to celebrate my birthday elsewhere.“

“Date night. Great place to go. Huge selection of drinks and awesome food. I had a salad with salmon that was one of the vest salads i have ever had and my boyfriend had a bourbon burger and said it was "perfect". We had the loaded spud app and shared the pretzel dessert....the best beginning and ending we could want. Our server, Heather, was so sweet and talked us through a lot of our options. on my way to work. Didn't realize it until I started eating in the car. I called to get a replacement. I was told to keep the regular tenders until after my shift and replace with the correct. I was hungry and of course ate before my shift. Partially my fault because I did not check my order before I left. Anthony at the window had great customer service food was good just not what I ordered. The male I spoke to on the phone was close minded to a mistake even being made. Food: UNREAL! So unique and tasty. The chorizo was so good we asked if we could buy it (you can!). As a sweet plantain lover, I was so excited to get them on a burger. This has to be in the conversation for best burger in Kansas City.

“We have been coming here for years. It's a place we always take people when they visit Kansas City; it's such a fun little experience. The ambiance is super cool, but it's also pretty chill. I never feel rushed when I'm in there, and we always have great customer service. I've seen a lot of reviews about the food, and they've surprised me. We actually really like the food, especially for the prices. Where else in Kansas City are you going to get a single patty burger for so cheap? We can normally feed our family of three for $30, or a little bit more if we get dessert. Is it a gourmet burger? Absolutely not. Is it a simple, diner burger, with a pretty decent taste and a really cheap price? Yes. Strange thing to suggest, but I really like the chili burgers. The chili is different, and adds an interesting flavor.“

You may wait a bit if you order a burger but my god is it worth it. I've been back twice this week for my first and second visit and between the burger, chicken parm sandwich and wings you cant go wrong. (But the breakfast burger is objectively the best option even with the wait.) The drinks are great but for a place that is more bar than restaurant somehow the drinks pale in comparison to the amazing food. 10/10 will be going a few more times before I leave.“

“So I’ve been here previous to this review and everything was fine. Perfect I got a bacon egg, sausage and cheese sandwich particularly for breakfast to be exact. Everything was fine. The this second time arguing for whatever reason the cook just could not get a hold on his head to save his life I guess supposedly which I did not remember this the first time around when I went there that the breakfast sandwich comes with lettuce, tomato & mayonnaise on it. Last I checked, those kinds of things came on something like a lunch sandwich such as a BLT so I had no idea of that so I asked them to remake it. Well when they remade it, I just left because I just knew that my sandwich was gonna be correct this time and of course, when I open it up all it was was a sausage and cheese and egg sandwich no bacon and OK. Call me a Karen if you will because only one item was missing but come on now I know he saw the bacon obviously was on a sandwich to begin with. That is what I paid for. This is exactly why I do not go out to eat anymore & I do not waste my money on food that is not being cooked in my kitchen.“

“This place is a grab-n-go type of place. No dine-in area. Basically a convenience store with a carry-out restaurant. I got the tenderloin combo w/ fries and Philly cheesesteak combo w/ tots. Just order at the cash register and wait. 3 order in front of me and I waited about 15 mins. I enjoyed and recommend both sandwiches. The tenderloin was thin, but it balances with the buns and toppings. The Philly cheesesteak was delicious. It was a little smaller than I was expecting but the taste… it was mouthwatering good. There’s a bathroom. No dine-in. Go give this place a go.“
