New American Restaurants in Lexington, KY

“Dined at the new restaurant Millstone in Lexington last PM. It’s in the old Dudley Square Building. What a great meal, great atmosphere. Really a nice vibe in the old school house I believe it was. Lot of exposed brick walls, great interior decorator. Very comfortable seating, some great jazz in the background but you could easily have have conversations and hear those you were with. So many restaurants have poor acoustics and it’s hard to have conversation. I enjoy a Sazerac cocktail, there are maybe 3 places in the city that know how to make a good one. Their bartender nailed it. Outstanding. We had Crabcake and Yeast Rolls for an appetizer and they were awesome, the crab rakes are served with fried green tomato. 5 Rolls were brought out in the cast iron skillet they were prepared in. Paula had a Millstone Salad and I had the Rib Eye. Both outstanding. Everything thing they serve they make in house, except the mayonnaise I was told. Fresh, locally sourced meats and vegetables. I had their bread pudding for desert. Everybody has thier on take on this, they added chocolate chips and their own sauce, It was amazing. They just opened this week, usually a new place has a lot of kinks to work out, but this was a great experience. The management has done a great job bringing in staff committed to excellence. Parking was not an issue either. UK had a game last night, but they had enough parking right there which is free. Something you dont find in the downtown area. 5 Stars, check them out!“

“If you like potatoes this is the spot. The portion is massive taking up and entire styrofoam to go container and loaded to the top with toppings. I got the chicken bacon ranch potatoe and it was not lacking in the flavor department at all! Chicken was tender juicy and seasoned to perfection the bacon was large strips cut into sections that was perfectly cooked the cheese sauce was in a league of its own. Truly a symphony of flavor. Oh and it comes with a roll if you still weren't full. If you're on the fence hop off it and come try it for yourself.“

“Truly amazing experience! Thank You Tobie for the best service I’ve had in a loooong time. Joyous and personal with so much class! Thank you Nicole for your amazing bartending skills. Not only were your selections and cocktails delicious and perfectly poured your knowledge and expertise about bourbons was excellent to experience! We had the Salmon dish, Tobie suggested sauce on the side and yes ma’am she was right! Absolutely cooked to perfection, wild flavors came through denoting fresh catch without being farm raised salmon. Grilled to the perfect peak of meat stiffness without overcooking. Such a fine line but truly the mark of a great chef! We also enjoyed the Filet with asparagus and mushrooms. Streak ordered medium rare and was exactly that! The balsamic glaze was a flavorful addition to a well cooked asparagus. The mushrooms were portioned lavishly and were a flavor explosion. We will certainly return hungry for more.“

“My mom and her fiancé drove in from Gulf Shores, AL to attend my son’s (her grandson’s) college graduation from UK. I was able to book them 2 night at the Clarion for the event. After Saturday’s commencement, we wanted to celebrate. My mom and her fiancé were so impressed with Sedona Taphouse from the previous evening, that they treated us to an early dinner along with some drinks there. It was amazing from the appetizers to the drinks to the entrees. Our server was a delight, but we also had the pleasure of meeting the GM, Ben as he came over to not only check on us, but to shake my son’s hand and personally congratulate him on his achievement. He really made a big deal about his accomplishment and even went as far to pay for his meal, drinks and dessert. So unexpected! Ben went above & beyond and that food and atmosphere was outstanding. We frequent Lexington often, I’ve found my new spot for lunch or dinner. Thank you Ben!! We can’t thank you enough for making Mason’s special day even more memorable.“

“The taco flights (The Filthy Fajita, The Smokeshow and The Gangsta) were Amazing as was our appetizer (Shrimp Rangoon Bites)!! Strawberry Bombshell on the rocks was definitely the bomb! “This is the second time I’ve eaten here. And both times were outstanding. This time we had the paella -we couldn’t wait to dive in. That’s why the pictures show that most of it is gone, but you can look at their pictures. It was fantastic!
If you’ve never been make a reservation and go. a lot of the appetizers are tapas style so don’t think it’s all you can eat hog trough. Hint— if you make reservations tell them you want yo have the paella ready about 30 -40 minutes after you arrive to give you time to sample some appetizers. We ordered the small which fed two people but should have ordered the large to have leftovers. Prices are very reasonable and the quality of the food that I’ve had has been tremendous. Show them some love.“

“First timing trying this place. Fill place, feels like a neighborhood spoke with some unique dishes on the menu.

I got the Lumberjack burger. It came out raw, ordered it medium. They took it back I expected a new burger, the simply further cooked the burger. This time it was well done. Not a big deal flavor was still there, juicy and well seasoned. However, I think much of the Beer cheese had cooked off.

We got the salad with orange vinaigrette and it was very good. The squash soup was also nice on a snowy day.

Service was excellent and enjoyed the experience. The only negative was the burger cook and the not getting a new burger. Just kind of pointless to ask for how I’d like it cooked.

“This place is great. Came in from out of town and went to a concert. Had to walk the dog and ended up in this great, pet friendly bar. We were so excited to find such a cool spot. Super affordable. Noticed half way through our first round that we had lost an expensive ring somewhere. The owner helped us look for a while and we left our information with him after not being able to find it. Turns out, it had been dropped outside and as luck would have it, some honest person turned it in the next day and the owner gave us a call and kept it safe until it could be retrieved. The atmosphere and space is great and the place is clean! (I’d know I was searching under tables and in the corners for that ring😆) I definitely recommend Devilish Current and we plan to return on our next visits to Lex.“

“Had to make a road trip stop overnight in Lexington and wanted to check out something close to the hotel. I stumbled upon everything you would hope for in a dive bar. The staff was friendly and the two bands were really good. Had a great time all by myself and no weirdos there to bother me. 10/10.“

“On July 5, 2025 we were visiting KY from OH searching for a great place to eat since the hotel kitchen closed at 11:00 p.m. When I tell you this is the perfect spot! Our server was Mathew and on a scale of 1-10 we give him 20 stars! If I had a business I’d definitely want him working there! He went above and beyond his job description! Thank you for finding a charger for me; I really appreciated that! Next time there’s going to be more in our group because we definitely spread the word! We hate we missed the band! “If I could give this place 10 Stars I would! My husband and I were traveling back home to Michigan after our trip to Mammoth Cave National Park. We had a fun afternoon of burbon drinking after camping and Desperately needed something to eat. Unfortunately, it was so late everything was closed. In a last ditch effort we spontaneously asked a passing local of ANY WHERE we could eat He immediately pointed us to Minglewood. We arrived an hour before close and quickly and apologetically ordered a couple cocktails and some food. I had the pimento hamburger and GIRL LEMME TELL YOU!!! Iv never had a hamburger more delicious in my entire life! It doesn’t stop there, we then had the absolute pleasure of meeting the LADY BOSS (maybe the owner? I was pretty tipsy by then lol) She was AMAZING and after bonding of chef life and hearing how much I love chicken wings, she suggested they had the BEST and proceeded to make us an order HERSELF even tho they were pretty much closed! OH. MY. ACTUAL. GOSH…SHE WAS NOT WRONG! I can’t tell you how serious I am when I tell you these were the BEST wings Iv ever had!! We are going to be camping in Smoky Mountains National Park for New Years weekend and have planned our trip specifically to include a stop here again for those wings! “This was our fifth year, having our Thanksgiving meal at the Triangle Grill. We always request and receive a window table where we can see the Lexington Center, Christmas tree, which is decorated, but not lit yet but still beautiful to look at while we eat. The buffet changes a little bit every year and not necessarily for the better, for example, my son missed the drumsticks this year And I couldn't find the gravy, but my tremendously good server brought me some from the back. I feel like there should be one more side, especially if there's not going to be roast beef. Maybe a corn pudding. The dessert choices were really good this year. Turkey itself was excellent as was the rest of the buffet. I've been there so long that when I walked up, everyone knew me by name and I'd had the same server several years and that is warm and friendly and feels like family when you were eating out. They are tremendous..“
