Discover where to enjoy delicious Mexican dishes in Cold Spring.
“Guacamole dip is a bit lacking on flavor.Cheese dip is thick and delicious.Tacos carnitas are amazing with the dark sauce and lime, but otherwise, would also be lacking on the flavor I've come to expect from carnitas.Steak fajita was good and the veggies were perfectly cooked.Salsa is in house and very fresh!Rice is super buttery...maybe a little too much. Beans are very good and have a rich flavor.Pricing is fair on most things but a few items seem high. The service was impeccable and they are eager to please! The entire restaurant that is accessible to the public is immaculate!“
“I have tried all the taco bells around me. Newport, Bellevue, Cincinnati, Alexandria, and Cold Spring is the only one that gets my App order right every, time.It takes them a little longer sometimes, but when my food is right, I'm happy. I would much prefer good service to fast, wrong food and this location has that in my opinion.Thank you to the friendly staff here!“
“We ordered the classic margaritas, and they were very tart, not sweet enough as well as not having much alcohol in them at all. I also got a pork taco that was fatty and I only ate half of it. Otherwise we had a good experience, the service was terrific and the food was good.“
“Best birria than anywhere. we go here all the time. So good. I love the guti fries. Sunday brunch is always lit. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because the flavor of the food is not consistent. Some days it's flavorful and some days it's bland. I guess it depends on who's “
“Love coming here! I only come when I have a reservation because the wait is usually long. My staples here are the Bakersfield margarita w salt and the chips and guac. Tonight I got the fish, shrimp, and short rib tacos. All were hit! They're pretty small so get 2-3 per person. My plain husband just got the meat and tortilla with no toppings. We had guac leftover and asked to take it home and our server also brought us fresh chips to take home. Service was great! Only downfall is that we were upstairs and it was super loud.“
“Lived in Cincinnati for 4 years and was able to enjoy this place often. It's an absolute must every time we go back. Mexican rice (pictured) has spectacular flavor. The elote when in season is also a favorite. Highly recommend this place if you are in Cincinnati. One of my favorites anywhere.“
“Simply incredible tacos, amongst the best I’ve ever had in my life and easily the best in Cincinnati. The al pastor is to die for. Seriously, just go to this place - it may look unassuming given it’s a food truck parked in a BP, but the food is top notch. The guys who work there are also super friendly, great service. Only downside is it’s cash only but a small inconvenience for such incredible food.“
“The best secret in NKY! We always order carry out as times may very when dining in. The food is so, so good. Everything is scratch made by a wonderful family from Guatamala. Birria Grilled Cheese, fish tacos, massive tortas! so many great options.“
“This taco truck is the sole reason I survived last winter in the city. The chorizo burrito brings me more joy than I can put into words. The staff are very kind, the wait is always minimal, and the food is consistently on point. I would give them 6 stars if I could.“
“Food was great, drinks were fun, there was at least 10 celebrations going on at once every one seemed to be having a great time but it was close to sensory overload not quite there but close it was packed and it was kind of pricey but they mostly give you that back in the “
“This place has a 4.9 rating (at the time of this review) for good reason. The food is always super fresh at a super reasonable price. The owners are great as well. It is both vegetarian and meat-eater friendly. Do yourself a favor and stop by.Parking: In addition to street parking, there is a huge community parking lot behind the building that is free.“
“It's a food truck located by gas station (inside the parking area). We tacos, tortas and quesadilla. Cash ONLY. $38 for 3 orders. Not bad for price. And the portion size is big (see tortas pic below). They're delish and filling. Definitely coming back for more. Try not to go around 12 noon, super busy. There are 2 tables or you can eat in your car. For drinks, you can get them in the gas station store.Parking: Located in gas station parking lot“
“I have come to this location about four times now. Every time has been wonderful! They have the best tortilla chips of any Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. They're extremely crispy and delicious. Salsa is also clearly homemade and very tasty. Overall we had a wonderful experience.“
“This is a great restaurant. The fusion of the flavors and the style of the food was excellent. It was hard to decide what to get as there are multiple intriguing items on the menu. The staff was attentive, but not overbearing, and our food was ready very quickly. The only thing that I can really say that was even close to a downside was that it was somewhat noisy in the restaurant when we were there; however, this could vary based on the crowd that is there at the time. I would definitely recommend getting a reservation.I will not hesitate to go to this restaurant in the future. Highly recommended.“
“I spent a fair amount of time in the '90s traveling on business to Mexico City, and one of my colleagues there loved a hugely popular taco stand near the center of the business district. They were revelations, half rolled soft tacos with delectable fillings unlike anything I'd had in the States. The tacos at this unassuming little West side gem taste EXACTLY like the ones I remember from the Distrito Federal, authentic and flavorful and 1/4 of a mile from my house. I've had the al pastor, pollo, fish, barbacoa, veggies, and the amazing squash blossom fillings, and they all rock. They also have a variety of other handheld items and platos, but the tacos are so freaking good that I haven't tried them. Bienvenido al barrio, amigos!“
“. This tiny taqueria is a gem. The food is fresh and sublimely delicious!. I LOVE THIS PLACE !. The Guacamole is great.. The Camarones Tacos (shrimp tacos) features 3 small soft tacos with tender, boiled shrimp, shredded cabbage, guac, and the most wonderful Tamarind sauce (sweet and fruity).. The Carnitas Tacos (pork tacos; 3 small soft tacos) has tender flavorful morsels of pork, with onion, guac, and a savory sauce- only slightly spicy.. I recommend the refreshing house-made limeade, called Agua de Limon.. This restaurant is a tiny, very narrow, storefront. Of the two exterior doors on Main Street, enter the left (In) door; when you leave, you use the other door.. The restaurant interior has colorful wall murals and just a few small tables in the back of the space. They do offer carry-out.. Parking on Main Street is limited, but there is one (pay) public lot just across Main Street, and another (pay) public parking lot about 1/2 block away at 7th and Main.“
“The turtle was great! Definitely well worth $15. The chicken was seasoned, it was full of toppings and the cheese on the outside made it crunchy. Perfect taco! What I didn't like was if you eat in, you can't just leave a tab open, you have to pay for each beer and item separately...I would come back for the food tho!“
“My friend and I were headed to downtown Cincinnati, but we decided to stop for tacos at BANDITO. I'm so glad we did. We're not local to Cincinnati so we were hoping to find a restaurant with easy parking and delicious food options. BANDITO delivered. You order and pay at the window, and they hand you a number so you choose your own table. For us, the wait was short, and we were chowing down in no time. You also clear your own table before you leave. We both ordered the Taco Trios, and we enjoyed sitting at a table in the sunshine because the restaurant has gigantic windows.“
“The vibe was awesome. The food was even better. I sat up at the bar and chatted with the bartender and the owner. The owner is exactly what a business like this needs. Someone out there on the floor chatting with customers supporting his staff and making sure that all the needs are met and the customers happy. My expectations walking in we're low. I was wrong. I didn't think I would be back after the first visit. I'm already planning my next one. The item on the menu are a little bit more expensive but absolutely worth it.I would not be shocked to see this restaurant being featured on traveling social media content creators and food network TV shows. Great job! Can't wait to try more of the menu.“
“It’s small like you would expect, but the service is just ok. You order at the counter and then they call your name when it’s ready. They have a variety of sauces you can try with your taco. ?We recommend the birria tacos; they were delicious and the sauce with it was perfect. I also got an to pastor taco and it was good too. They have the Mexican coke which I can never refuse ?It’s a bit expensive for tacos and not my favorite place but still good“
“Food is almost always excellent! My biggest beef is the reward program. I could come in every day for lunch and spend 7-10 $ and get a stamp each day for 35-50 dollars of food. I rarely eat there at lunch and most frequently take out dinner. Normally I take 3-4 entrees home consistently totaling 40-55 $ but only get ONE stamp on the card. Lets say I come in once a week and end up averaging 45$ each visit. that's 4 stamps for $180 of business in a month The lunch person spends 150-200$ and gets 20 stamps. Just doesn't make any sense.Vegetarian options: Most all dishes can be tweaked as meatless if desiredParking: Plaza parking always sufficient even on weekends“
“The food and service were great. The first time we sat outside as they have a large outdoor dining area, the next time we sat inside. Both times the food and service have been amazing. The arroz con pollo was my favorite but the chori pollo has taken the lead. Either way you can't go wrong. If you can take the heat, ask for the homemade hot sauce, you may or not regret it.“
“Great little place for quick Mex. The guac, salsa, and queso were all really good. Small place, impressed they have both Modelo and Dos Equis Amber on draft. Plus lots of bottled beer. Some Mex joints struggle to carry good Mex beer. Recommend for a quick bite. Order at counter, food is delivered to table.“
“Walked a little further than usual today and ended up eating at Zapata. There's a place across the street that's more authentic but the atmosphere there is much less classy. The bar tender was informative and friendly and the food was good enough. I ordered enchiladas. They were filling and had good taste but were doused in sauce, came with less rice than I expected and no refried beans as is customary for this dish. Before the order we shared some white queso dip which was very good! I recommend it for any cheese lovers out there. The beers were good too. Overall I'd definitely recommend it but there are some small improvements they could make.“
“We have had dinner here 3 times recently! Always looking for local establishments to support! Highly recommend this one! The servers have been wonderful!! All the food we have choosen has been very good! Every time our son comes in town we try a new place between here and Cincinnati and so far this has been his favorite! He had the street tacos and raved about them! It does take just a little bit of time to get our food however, it is 100% worth it because it’s so fresh and hot and very tasty! please do give this place a try, you won’t regret it!“
“This location is huge! There's tables and bar seating downstairs with outdoor seating as well. Upstairs there's a bar, booths and tables. We went before the opening day game and were sat right away. There's a smaller menu but options for children and adults. You can pick and choose which tacos you want in the 2 selection of tacos. The trio of salsa was so delicious with different flavors. I added it to my mahi tacos which added more taste.“
“We celebrated today to avoid any crowds. We had a wonderful lunch with a very friendly waitress that helped us order a wonderful meal. The salsa was wonderful.. lots of flavor and the chips came out hot… great start. He ordered a burrito with steak and chicken and I had some and it was really flavorful and just good. He kept wanting me to try the beef as he loved it! Very tender.I wasn’t super hungry and i like to try a little of everything… need variety right now as I get super sick of things.. anyway, I ordered one taco with the Serrano and it was HOT and so very good.. it bit hot for me but next time I will get the tacos with less hot or try the fajitas. We ordered the sopapillas and they were different to what I thought a soapapilla is (soft pillowy is how my dad made them). These were crunchy and cinnamony and super flavorful and the waitress was wonderful and gave us bonus fried ice cream instead of the regular… that was cool cause I haven’t had that since chi chis was around. lolAll in all it was an amazing meal with super friendly service… we can’t wait to go back and take our kiddo… it’s nice to have found a Mexican restaurant in the area that we enjoyed…“
“El Rio Grande offers an exceptional dining experience with its mouth watering Xangos dessert, a true delight! The Fajita sizzler for 2 is a generous feast capable of satisfying even a group of 4, boasting ample portions, freshly prepared sides, and flavorful sauces. The outstanding service complements the delectable cuisine, making it a must-visit destination for lovers of Mexican cuisine seeking quality and quantity in equal measure.Vegetarian options: Every dish can easily be made vegetarian by simply removing the meat and adding in some refried or black beans.Dietary restrictions: When you make a reservation at a restaurant, be sure to tell the staff about any dietary restrictions or preferences you have. If they can't accommodate you, they may be able to recommend other restaurants that can.Parking: On busy days spots directly in front of the restaurant fill up quickly, but there is plenty of parking in the parking areas adjacent to the exact location.Kid-friendliness: A warm and inviting atmosphere with plenty of room at the tables, colorful seating and wall decorations as well as enough ambient music to ensure even those children that are a bit loud won't disturb others.Wheelchair accessibility: This location has no barriers to entry and both front doors are wheelchair width and easily navigable. There is a slight curb directly in front of the restaurant but a ramp on the right hand side of the sidewalk.“
“Never have been anywhere where the service is this exquisite. I've got to say the thing that sold me on this place was my server Jasmine. She was extremely attentive, made wonderful recommendations, and it was very clear she cared about us and our well being. We came in from out of town and we were honeymooning in Cincinnati and scouting colleges for our future children. Because Jasmine is a pre dental second year undergraduate student majoring in biology, minoring in chemistry, organic chemistry, finance, real estate, and something else I don't remember she had a lot to say about the school. I will not be sending my children to the school but I will send them to work here at Drunken Taco because she is a great role model. Anyway, the food was good and cool environment as well and I will for sure recommend my friends who are coming here next month for their honeymoon to go to Drunken, because of Jasmine. Apparently they had a rager the other night too and we would have gone but Jasmine recommended the aquarium but we quite enjoyed, expensive but because of Jasmine we had a great time. Finally, 10/10 service from Jasmine and I will be so lucky if my kids grow up to be like Jasmine because Jasmine is the best.“
“traveling from Canada and stumbled across this place online, what can I say this is possibly the best taco I have ever had in my life, and this is coming from someone who is picky about tacos, i had the shrimp, the chorizo and the al pastor, none of them disappointed in any way. just to let you know im writing this review a few hours later because I am still thinking about that first bite, i totally recommend this!“
“Our server, Austin, made several suggestions since it was our first time eating at Frida. Hard to choose because everything sounded delicious but we ordered the salsa sampler and 4 different tacos (my husband made his a platter & we shared the refried beans & rice). Everything was delicious & fresh. Will definitely go back to try other entrees on the menu.“
“"Mexican food so authentic, Donald Trump wants to build a wall around it."This is scrawled in chalk behind the main register in the place and I have to say, I agree! I had the pollo con mole. Homemade mole sauce was to die for. Burritos were stuffed and all the ingredients were fresh. The salsa had just the right amount of heat and loads of cilantro. The ambiance was awesome with the store in the back and the eclectic décor and different levels and whatnot. There was a couple celebrating their anniversary who invited their waiter to take a shot, and he did. It felt like having dinner with my extended family. If you're in the area, I highly recommend it. Worth the walk away from the Levee.“
“Food was awesome our server Melody, by the way Good Luck at UC. Graduation. Was outstanding, polite . This was our 1st. Time , and we will be back. House margaritas were very satisfying. Good luck to El Barrill and our Server Melody, also this restaurant is Pet Friendly.“

“I had the Lunch Fajitas, and although they were delicious, I thought the portion size was a little small (but it's lunch so...?) Everything else was very good and it is a nice, truly cozy place. The service was good and the prices were not outrageous, so I'll probably be back soon.“
“The owners of this business are fabulous, creative and hard working people. They serve an honest good meal with cheer. I would recommend them to anyone.I grew up in a part of the country where Mexican food was a staple. This place made me feel at home.“
“The food is great. The atmosphere is good except for one thing. They have a middle room where the toilet doors open directly out into the dining area. Plus the lighting in that room is sort of yellow greenish and it's quite stark. That particular room needs an interior designer redo ASAP. Other than that, it is awesome. The food is delicious and there is a wide variety of great dishes The frozen margaritas are superb. It's a fun, affordable Mexican place.“
“Friendly greeting, terrific service. Sat at a booth near the bar. The experience was great. I was not impressed with my chicken taco salad, but my husband loved his order. Salsa was good, but I didn't love the chips. Huge draft beer at a good price in a frosty mug. Service, atmosphere and location were so good I would try again.“
“Always enjoy my time at Cancun's!!!Best Mexican restaurant around.Parking: More options in parking. Lot to small to accommodate restaurants available.Wheelchair accessibility: There is accessibility in one area, although you may have to park real far from ramp, parking lot to small to accommodate restaurants available.“
“Another great experience yesterday. We love how that they are open later and have never been dissatisfied. The food is so amazing and such great portions sizes. They offer options for the kids as well. They have added more to their menu. Love this truck!“
“So when we went on vacation to Ohio and me and my partner ate here and yeah the food was great but the waiter we had was amazing. This was in October and I just think about him from time to time. I hope he has a good night. We had the best time and he made our night great ya know? If we ever find ourselves in Ohio again, will for sure be coming back. I wish I knew his name. He deserves everything good in the world to happen to him.“
“Place was empty and we sat in the deck in the back. I had a Blue Moon draft with two samosas that were delicious. My friend had the veggie burger and said it was very good as well. Samosas and beer $12. Food comes out of a trailer in the parking lot and in take-out containers. Still, a perfect light snack to have with your drink. Great deal, good place to hang out with friends. I recommend.“
“A very enjoyable lunch with great food and atmosphere. I came for lunch and it was busy with families and men clearly on break from a work site. My only slight complaint is that while the chairs and benches are wonderfully decorated they are also a little uncomfortable if you want to sit back. You will find sports on the TV and a well stocked bar of liquor. Having my coke served in a bottle was kind of a fun treat as well.“
“Service - Upon entering, I saw a sign telling me to wait to be seated, so I did. I waited 7 minutes before a server who was rolling silverware told me that I could seat myself anywhere, and then apologized for not having seen me earlier. Then, I only saw her once during my meal.Food - I had the mixed fajitas and a sweet tea. While the chips and salsa were really good, their fajitas were missing something. The beef and chicken were a little bland. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't great.“
“I just want to say thank you Aaron for your service last night and treating me and everybody else that was there in our group. I did not have to wait a long time on our drinks and food. Aaron is the best server whenever I come in there. ❤️ WE LOVE YOU AARON! ❤️“
“Wish they were open more! Best lunch spot in fountain square. I got a chicken rice bowl with lots of toppings and the house vin. the staff is a very efficient and keeps you moving down the line quickly. They do a great job restocking and making sure everything is available and fresh. Pretty quiet in here on a Monday but they have good music!“
“We had a business lunch here and it was perfect. The waiter was very attentive and quick to do whatever we needed. It was nice and quiet while also being somewhat private. Great food!!!Parking: Parking is provided free in front of the restaurant“
“This was not my first time at a Hot Head Burritos but it was my first time in a while. The Newport location was fantastic. We had 7 people in our party and we all loved our food. I had a toasted burrito. The sauce that I chose was the southwest ranch and will definitely get it again. Unlike other burrito locations, Hot Head offers a lot of sauces/flavor options. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I am glad that we chose to go there and will become regulars. Thank you for great food and service.“
“I was pleasantly surprised by the service and food. Service was over the top. Food was very good. My Wife had the El Pastor and pineapple tacos. So very tasty. My Steak tacos were good as well. "SECRET FACT" Tuesdays are taco Tuesday with tacos marked down to $2! ENJOY!“
“There are four of us that go every Monday evening. The food is delicious; we usually have chicken or steak fajitas and frozen margaritas for $3.99 on Mondays. The staff is friendly and very attentive to needs. The restrooms are cleaner than any restaurant I've been in and they smell very good. I guarantee you will love this restaurant.P.S. if you shop Kroger Crossroads, the back of your receipt will include a $5.00 coupon.“
