“Wed, 2/28/24, Management told one of our trivia team members that she is no longer welcome because she spoke to trivia host and he felt threatened by her. She talked to host after trivia and told him she thought the questions we no longer "general knowledge" trivia. While her remarks may have been harsh, we feel she should have been warned that her behaviour would not be tolerated in the future but not forbidden to return to play trivia. Our trivia team spends 140.00 to 160.00 each Wednesday, not to mention the amount of tips the server was making (30 to 50 dollars). She also told management team that host drinks too much during trivia and they denied that. By the hosts own admission over the microphone, he has asked people to stop sending him drinks because "I'm getting drunk guys". She was told he is allowed 1 alcoholic beverage while doing trivia. WHO HAS EVER HAD A JOB WHERE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO DRINK ALCOHOL?? We will probably NOT be coming back to trivia if all of our team members are not welcome. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR TRIVIA....WHICH I HAD SELECTED ORIGINALLY!!“

“When we got there we brought our dog to join us for my Father’s Day lunch and they were so helpful and nice, dog bowl of water right away and got us seated in the patio area. Took our drink order and food order and I can’t understand how that cook got everything out so quick and was so delicious. Mac and cheese bites were good, the sauce made it but the star was the 1788 burger. Hands down the best burger I think I have ever had. Juicy, hot, and fresh. The chips were even seasoned enough but if you get the chips add bbq sauce. Really enhances the flavor. Over all If you are craving an amazing burger and nice place to hang out try this place out.“

“I’ve been there many times and anytime I have out of state guests we always take them there! And when guests return, the first thing they ask is “Can we go to that Knotty place on the hill to eat”. Now we call it the Naughty Place on The Hill because every meal is amazing, crab boil and the naughty Bloody Mary is well amazing and Naughty! Staff is amazing as well!“

“I love going to Indian Mound Cafe. It is my primary destination for cheeseburgers, and I am NEVER disappointed. The onion rings are outstanding as well, which usually is not the case at most restaurants. There are no soggy or greasey onion rings at the Mound. The are crisp and delicious.

The owner, Sheila, is a truly lovely person who makes you feel like your business is important, but not as important to her as you are as a person. Whenever I stop in, Sheila greats me with a smile. On more than one occasion, when I have been having a bad day or two and stoped in to eat, Sheila always asks how I am. And not in a superficial or condescending way, but like someone who really does give a hoot.

As an older adult who spends a consiserable amount of time alone, it is heartwarming to think that someone is glad to see me. It is even more touching that someone is honestly concerned about my well being. But that seems to be the case with many of the customers who come to the Indian Mound Cafe. It really is one of those places where the owner and staff know the majority of clientele and treat them as more than just a source of income, but like friends.

As if those atributes aren't enough, there aren't a lot of places at this point where you can have a sit-down meal cooked to order w a soft drink and tip for under $20. I tend to make it in at least several times a month, and I typically bring folks with me. One of my regular dining companions raves about the vegetable soup which, like all the soups, is homemade. I, personally, keep trying to stop in early enough on a Thursday to try the sliders special, but no luck so far--they are always sold out.

One more thing, there is an excellent Central American bakery a couple of doors down from the Mound on the same side of the street. It is well worth stopping in and grabbing some delicious (and extremely budget friendly) baked goods to take home or enjoy as desert after eating at the Mound. The pastries are not super sweet, which I like. But of course, that just means I want more! And at the prices they charge, I can walk out with a good sized bag for between $10 and $12. It is one of those hidden gems that I really enjoy turning people on to. Bon Appetit.“

The wedge salad tasted like they picked it from the Garden of Eden, made with the world’s best house made ranch dressing- they should bottle that Sh!T. & My drink was top-notch, served by great bartenders in a cozy brick pub, like if Cheers had a “study”. My entree was the Beef on Weck sandwich. All I can say is WHAT THE WECK WAS THAT?! So juicy! So delicious! The cooks in the back were raised RIGHT. Best kept secret in Cincinnati for sure. “After seeing a few of their drivers around Independence, I decided to try Snappy Tomato and ordered online for delivery. I typically prefer carry-out, but hey, whatever. I chose a medium “Bacon Ranch” thin crust and a medium “Snapperoni” on traditional as variety truly is the spice of life. This was on a Friday night and the pizza arrived within 30-35 minutes, snappy indeed. Things really started looking up when the friendly driver handed me my order and the combined pies had a decent weight to them, in pizza this is always a good sign. Upon initial inspection both pies were hot, had just the right amount of toppings and baked to a perfect golden glow. In fact, for a moment as I simultaneously opened each box I thought I caught the sound of ethereal choir voices harmoniously rising in the background. Without hesitation I grabbed a slice of each and unsurprisingly both were absolutely delicious, tasting just as amazing as they looked. All the toppings were fresh, the cheese chewy and satisfying, and piled upon quality sauce and a perfectly cooked, delicious crust. The taste took me back to the 1980s-90s when, and I’m sorry if you’re too young to have experienced this, our go-to pizza places just tasted better. Rightly so, Snappy Tomato has become my new favorite local pizza place and I will be ordering again. Thanks!“

“When this location on beechmont first opened, it wasn't so great. Service was terrible, no greeting at the door, people packed in like sardines, utter chaos going on behind the counter, filthy store. Orders in disarray. Needless to say, I came in one more time for a door dash order and ended up having to cancel it because it was going to be late, and I needed to keep it moving. However, I did go back and try again 6 months ago and I was amazed at how bright, clean, organized, professional, and kind the staff was and how fast I got my order. I do carry out from this location about 2-3x a month. I figured it was under new management. Today, I met the manager, Nicole Stetter. Very very professional and kind. She had me do a survey and I got a BROWNIE! For doing the survey. She saved me a trip, because I usually go next door to the cheese cakery for my dessert. The brownie is delish and now I only need to make one stop instead of 2 when I do carry out. The wings and fries here are FIRE 🔥 and a clean store, and professionalism make food more enjoyable!! “Thick, crunchy, flaky, golden, crispy are all the key words I'd use to describe their chicken batter. It's pretty much perfection in my mind. Their sauces are also well above average with plenty of options across the sweet, savory and spicy range. Cincinnati is full of great restaurants and this one is definitely among the best in the Fried Chicken game. Also when you dine in, in my experience the chicken comes out so hot it burns your fingers, which in my opinion is a good thing, I don't want chicken that's been under a heat lamp and here I've only ever gotten chicken straight from the fryer to my table in what seems like 60 seconds or less. It's amazing.“

“Good atmosphere, clean dining area, good easy to understand menu. I am a bit confused about one thing though. Apparently this restaurant is a bring your own napkins restaurant. You heard of bring your own booze bring your own bottle this is bring your own napkins. When I received my food I could not find any napkins so I asked the girl at the counter and she pointed to a roll of paper towels that you use to dry your hands off after you wash them in the bathroom. She said that wings and napkins don’t go together? I don’t understand.“

“Pizza is great, we love the wings and house made ranch, all around favorite in our house. Sadly I’ve stopped ordering because it keeps getting delivered by door dash and arrives cold. One time the delivery person had a van full of people with my food just sitting on the floor boards. That’s gross. If I could be 100% sure I was getting a jets driver I’d order again but not worth the chance with the price of this place. Nothing against door dash but I don’t order my food from them for a reason, there’s no one to moderate the cleanliness of the car or person.“
