“My family has been coming here regularly since as long as I can remember. The staff are always sweet and friendly and remember us! Asking how everyone is doing and checking in whenever we go in. The food never misses, I am a huge fan of the tacos Al carbon-- highly recommend getting them with steak! The food is consistent and speedy and togo orders are always ready super quick. This is comfort food to the highest degree and I cannot recommend it enough“

They say lead by example and if every employee treated customers the way he did everyone would have an amazing dining experience! “I frequent both locations of Local Taco - an excellent Lexington favorite. The location downtown is small and quaint with great atmosphere and frequented by UK students. Location in Hamburg is new and large with ample seating and a large bar. Great, fast service. Some of our favorites are the 2 taco and 2 side deal, or the 4 tacos for $15. Recently we had spicy shrimp, Buffalo, brisket, and southern fried tacos with pinto beans and Mexican rice as sides. All tacos were very good, but I'd say my least favorite was the brisket as it did not have a lot of flavor. Same for the Mexican rice... ended up putting some beans in it to give it a little something extra. I do not care for their salsa, but just a personal preference as I do not care for a lot of cilantro. Restaurant is clean, including the restrooms. Beer selection is decent, although a local favorite from Country Boy brewing was out and they do not carry Miller Lite - even in a bottle - which I find strange as the "Coca Cola" of beer. They did have both Dos Equis on draft which is our preference with this cuisine anyway. Not inexpensive, but reasonably priced for quality ingredients and something different. Highly recommend.“
“A few blocks out of the center, but easy to find. Two rooms packed with locals; one room with aircon that was just what I needed. The LP guide recommended the fried shrimp, so decided on that. The food came pretty quickly with a huge mound of shrimp perfectly cooked! I’d definitely recommend this place! Good food, good vibe and friendly staff.“
“It doesn't get any better than drive-thru tacos! Papi's is where I go because I can count on the consistent perfection they deliver. In 2023, I went over 75 times. I absolutely love this place and am writing this review after ordering Street tacos + tamales.“

“Great food. Service is not as good as it used to be... staff seems to be very distracted today. The portions were very small today. The Homewrecket burrito used to be a meal that would leave you stuffed - if you could finish it. Today it was a small burrito that I need to fill up on chips. Sad they ran out of iced tea an hour before closing. And, the prices are crazy high now. I'll keep going here and the other locations - just not very often.“
“The food is consistently good, the service was good for the most part other than waiting for the lady behind the counter to make 7 to go orders before she acknowledged me standing at the counter. I do however understand the busy times. One thing that annoyed me but it's not their fault, I paid with $15 in Moe's bucks and my total was $16 and change, so I used my card so I could tip I had zero cash on me. I tried to tip $6 but the machine wouldn't allow me to tip more than my total of $1 something. Someone should fix that because I doubt I'm the only one who does that when essentially getting free food.“
“Food is very good when they get the order right. They seem to have problems when you order multiple of the same item with different options (like for multiple people). Like most American places trying to make tacos, you get a curated experience. When I go to Mexico, I get a plate with tortillas and whatever meat on them and a plate with all the other stuff to make whatever I want. That is why getting the orders correct in an American taco restaurant is important. In any case, the shrimp and the fish tacos are very good. By default they use flour tortillas, but you can select corn.“
