i follow a blogger on youtube that travels the world. he is visiting Ethiopia and through watching it learned that Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee. So i googled Ethiopian coffee shops in Louisville and found Abol cafe. visited today and had some pour over coffee, it was the best coffe i've ever had, and i have tried coffee everywhere!!!! believe me when I say this place has the best Coffee around. My son introduced me to the coffee Thursday when he brought some home with him and introduced me to the actual Cafe today. The proprietor is amazing! The food and the coffee are beyond compare. I’ll definitely be returning!

Abol Cafe (Coffee + Kitchen) is a gem in the city. The owners are welcoming and share their culture. Customers enjoy the Green Bean to Cup experience, learning about coffee history in Ethiopia and roasting their own coffee. The coffee is better than anything found elsewhere. The Jebena (clay brew) is perfect for a date, and the coffee ceremony is unique. Food is equally delicious; the chicken stew, vegetarian platter, chicken and rice, breakfast sandwich, and dabo kolo are praised. Gluten free and vegan options are available. Complimentary biscuits are delicious, and the ethnic decorations honor the culture. Dalgona is sweet but balances. Coffee beans are the best in the city, and the smell alone makes it worth buying. Service is amazing and friendly. The atmosphere is hospitable and caring. Customers recommend returning regularly, booking for the coffee ceremony, bringing friends. Overall, Abol Cafe offers amazing food, amazing service, amazing coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere.
