About The Last Refuge

The Last Refuge is a unique restaurant located in a converted German Methodist Church, offering good food, drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere that provides a refreshing experience. The almond and rosemary appetizer is a must-try, and the Seven Deadly Cheese pizza surprises with its flavors. The space is visually striking, featuring a two-story-high spirits wall that serves as the centerpiece, reminiscent of the Haunted Mansion ride at Disney. Despite limited seating, the comfortable decor with leather and velvet seating, along with dim lighting and live music, creates an intimate yet lively vibe. The bar boasts an impressive selection of over 1,200 bottles of bourbon, and drinks like the espresso martini with tequila are highly recommended. The friendly service and unique ambiance make The Last Refuge a place worth visiting in Louisville, especially for those seeking a spiritual or sensory experience. However, some customers have noted that the service can be slow at times, even when the restaurant is not busy. Still, the amazing church setting, the unbelievable whiskey selection, and the fantastic live music make it a must-visit spot. The outdoor seating area with couches around a gas firepit offers great views of the city, making it perfect for date nights or casual gatherings. Spare ribs are highly recommended, and the pizza continues to impress visitors.

This is an old ⛪️ church & the building is extremely unique & thoughtfully decorated. We enjoyed live music, fire, cocktails & really good pizza. Our server was very knowledgeable, friendly and hospitable.
Bob Dylan owns it! We will return. Hoping they have a Halloween party there 👻
