“Went here last night around 9:30p and ordered 5 vanilla cones. There was one young man (he said his name is Emory - he has a ponytail) working the order window AND he was rushing back and forth to fulfill the cone order. This guy can HUSTLE!! Really pleased to see him busting out a busy night and with a great attitude. I told him he needs a raise and he said to let his boss (Deserae) know; so Deserae, please get this man a promotion/raise!“
“Ordered a BMT wrap and loaded potato soup... OMG!!! The soup was AMAZING. Perfect ratio of ingredients (there's no skimping from these guys) to soupy-ness. The wrap was great as well. The store was clean and the staff was very friendly.“
“I have driven by this restaurant for a while because the sign didn’t draw me in. However, today I wanted to give it a try. Wow, amazing food and service. The quesadilla with chicken was fantastic, and the service was so kind. I’ll be back!“
“The food was good as usual. The guys working the line were efficient and friendly and helpful. It was on the busy side when we were there.I will remark that the line and food was pretty messy. I imagine due to it being busy but it is worth noting.“
“They boast they have thr best burger in town and ya know what he'll yah they do !!, and if your a vegetarian thier veggie burger is awesome!! Like freaking 10/10 and the prices are great the sides/ appetizers are delicious if I could do 10 stars I would do 11“
“This is my favorite Dairy Queen location! On summer nights there is usually a line at the drive through, but it moves at a decent pace. Everyone that works there has always been very friendly. The best part about this location is they give a generous amount of toppings in their Blizzards. The summer special, peanut butter puppy chow, was my absolute favorite this summer.“
“Dixie Chili has been around since 1927 years and was opened only a few years after empress...The Newport location is the one I was taken to.by my uncle when I was a kid.I have not had it in years... but I made a point to go there cause I always remember it as DELICIOUS... AND IT WASI visited today and we shared some stuff. You walk in order and take your tray down the line and get your drinks then food... and if it's a lil longer prep they'll tell you they bring it out to you...The Cheese ConeyThe overall experience is wonderful. The taste great...First thing you notice is the bun is soft and not super dense... its not like the dense dry buns from local large chains...It's not too dry not too moist.. then theres the chili... its very good and they put an ample portion on a coney "so hunch over when eating cause it could drip out the back that's a good thing" they put a light coat of onion so not overpowering.. and the mustard was just right... not too much or too sour... then thers the soft Tuft of cheese piled on top...Their chili doesn't have a spicy kick so it's just satisfying... although a lil hot sauce on it later proved to pair well with the chili like it activated the spices in your mouth for a new flavor..."I recommend try without hotsauce first"THE CHILI CHEESE FRIES ...OMG...I will say no matter where you go chili cheese fries are expensive...BUT they use WAFFLE FRIES!this was a whole new texture I never knew I needed in my life. They are crisp and the chili and cheese attop them is so good and easier to eat than others... "again try without hotsauce first"We also ordered chili cheese sandwiches so that means no hotdogsBut you get more cheese and it seemed a lil more onion on them.Delicious....oh BTW the hotdogs in the coneys where dense they tatsed and had mouth feel of a good quality wiener. We had to try a side of Gyro meat cause at this point we where getting full and couldn't do a full gyro... cause from what we saw they are a decent size.So a side with a side of Taziki...The meat was very good and the taziki is outstanding with the meat...We of course got the large drinks with the plastic cup to take home...I want to go back and have their 3 and 4 way... one thing I was impressed with was the oyster crackers...Westminster Bakers Co.Is the brand they have and It literally is a game changer...They have a subtle density and crispness that doesn't instantly turn mushy in soup, chili, or Cincinnati chili....Another reason I need to come back...Also they are not cheap... a big bag is twice the price of other brands.... that is for good reason...I swear whole foods is gonna catch on to how many small packs I take when I get their soup lol... that brand of oyster Cracker is the bomb...So if you like quality... dixi chili does it right... and personally I think it should be Dixie Chili and empress chili fighting for dominance... not goldstar and skyline...There are four chilli places I think that are better than those two brands .... cause skyline ain't it especially on quality lately... they buns too dry...Vegetarian options: They make vegetarian chili tooParking: There is a free lot about 3 stores downAlso a mix of free and paid street parkingKid-friendliness: Lots of kids options and amenities“
“I've only visited twice, food was great, a little pricey, small mom, pop type restaurant, limited seating, but great for takeout, I enjoyed both meals, and will go again, Loaded, and classic Gyros are great, loved the mushrooms, jalapeno peppers with the sweet chili sauce.“
“Empower is my absolute favorite place! Their shakes are delicious and their customer service is amazing. Both co-owners are incredibly sweet and they genuinely care about getting to know people when they stop in. Could not recommend this place anymore. 11/10!“
“I like eating there and it's great place. The only problem is is when I try to order my food and I just say I would like to have a chicken bacon ranch just the sandwich. The person on the headset says do you want fries with that I'm like I just said just the sandwich. I don't understand why they don't understand what I'm saying. It always have to ask if I still want fries. If I wanted fries I would say with fries. That's the biggest complaint about that particular gold star and also, if I order bacon like two strips of bacon I should have two full strips of bacon. Not one and a half slices of bacon to another words. I'm getting ripped off on my bacon when I go there. Not cool.“
“This is the paradigm of Skyline chili locations. The best, most real example of the true Skyline experience. There are no computerized overhead displays here. I walked in, and they were completely full, Sunday around noon. The after church crowd. It was always a tradition in my family to go to Skyline - this Skyline - after church. But I was on my own, so I wanted a carry out order. Within 30 seconds my order was taken, and called out verbally to the food team. The customer says "Regular Three Way" which means spaghetti with chili on it, and a mound of shredded colby cheese. The person at the counter simply calls out "One Chili Spagett!" I paid for my order, and two minutes later I was walking out with my food. Settled on a comfortable corner of the Clifton Gaslight district at the corner of Clifton Avenue and Ludlow Avenue, this traditional, old school, Skyline location is a great place to eat in or carry out. It is across the street from a corner of Burnet Woods Park, where a fountain sculpture has been placed. There is an old fashioned Fire House on another corner, and a florist on the other. Welcome to the red brick Clifton Skyline on Ludlow!Vegetarian options: You get the "rice and beans" chili mixture instead of the traditional chili. It's good. You don't get to have a cheese coney. You could have rice and beans on a coney bun with cheese. I would get a regular three way, four way or five way (four and five add onions and beans) but specify "rice and beans" instead of chili. It has a similar flavor due to the spices.Parking: The parking lot is across a small street just north of the Skyline Building to the right off of Clifton Avenue.“
“I know there a lot of diehard fans of Skyline Chili, so I visited more out of curiosity than anything! Let's try this famous chili that folks are always raving about! To be honest, I'm not sure that I totally get it, but it was good (not amazing?) and I'm glad I tried it. I feel like satisfying my curiosity was enough for me though, and I would probably opt for other options over Skyline in future visits to Cincinnati. I stopped into this location at kind of a weird time in the middle of the afternoon, after any lunch crowd and before a reasonable dinner time. As such, it was pretty much empty and I had my choice of seating. I got the vibe that this is likely a location frequented by people who work in the area. I got the famous/signature 4-way, spaghetti covered with chili, diced onions, and a mound of shredded cheese. I also tried a chili cheese coney sandwich. I wasn't sure if this was the right amount to order or not, since prices seemed too low for a meal. However, this was definitely the right amount for me. It didn't look super big but it's very filling. I also got hot sauce to drizzle on top which I really liked! I'm not sure my stomach was too happy about the whole meal though, haha. I happily finished the whole thing.“
“Ah, fellow space traveler, gather 'round! Let me regale you with a tale of gastronomic exploration at Swenson's Drive-In on Madison Rd in Cincinnati. Picture this: I parked my starship (okay, It was a F-150, but let's keep the cosmic vibe) and activated my warp lights. The menu materialized before me, not on a screen, mind you, but through sheer telepathy. Yes, this is a drive-in, not a mere drive-through. No faceless boards here - just a parking spot and a hunger that could rival a black hole. The server sprinted over, like a caffeinated Tribble chasing a warp-speed mouse. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fried mushrooms, and the server nodded as if saying, "Ah, the classic warp fuel." But then, my friend's request: a grilled chicken sandwich and potato puffs. Alas, the app had no fried chicken sandwiches listed! I leaned in, whispered "Captain Kirk would've sorted this out with a photon torpedo,” and the server promised to relay the message to the manager. Bless their dilithium crystals. Now, let's talk, value. Swenson's delivers more bang for your gold-pressed latinum. It's like getting a warp drive upgrade for the price of a replicator synthehol. And the speed? Warp factor 9, my friend! The shakes? Creamier then a Vulcan's logic. The desserts? Sweet enough to make a Klingon smile (which is rare, trust me).So, fellow cosmic wanderer, if you seek sustenance at warp speed, Swenson's is your nebula. Just remember to park, flash your lights, and prepare for a teleportation of flavor. And may the force - wait... wrong franchise! Live long and nom nom!“
“I really like skyline, gold Star is my favorite for coneys though, the funnel fries are to die for, they taste just like a funnel cake and it just depends on your taste, both chili's are great, they just have a slightly different tasteParking: Fairly large lot, I'd say about 20 spots in frontKid-friendliness: Kids menuWheelchair accessibility: Handicapped parking right by the front doors“
“The food Is always hot and fresh! on a typical Friday, the electricity went out in that area because of a car hitting a telephone pole so I pull up to the drive thru not knowing this had occured so one of the young men that was working there was outside cleaning windows and he had approach my car and say excuse me ma'ma, we are not open right now and he explained the electricity outrageous being cut off so he hand me a "Free meal card" and he say thank you for coming and I promise him, I will show him appreciation for that and the kindness he serves! Thank you BENJAMIN H for your kindness and respectful approach.“
“I had never been to a Skyline Chili. I proudly declared to the manager who rushed over to convert me to the Cincinnati area famous chili. He explained the differences between skyline and other types of chili and some of the nuances of the chili like we were in some sort of quasi wine tasting. Personally I was 100% there for it. I ended up ordering 3 coney dogs, one with jalapeño cheese on it to go. It was late and I had to get back to my hotel, people were waiting on me, or else I would have stayed and enjoyed the quaint diner on the end of a strip mall that serves chili late at night…. The atmosphere was a clean place that oddly reminded me of the 90’s but was well taken care of. As I returned to my hotel I ate all three coney dogs quickly. They. Were. Delicious. The jalapeño cheese was maybe not as spicy as I would have expected but they put hot sauce in the bag that was well used. Overall, I can see the appeal of the chili place, for a chili that doesn’t have beans in it.Food was great! Staff was extremely helpful! This skyline chili is open late!“
“Stopped by here after the Bengals lost to the Texans, food was excellent, service was outstanding, & the restaurant was clean. Waitress was very nice & helpful, she was so gracious enough to sell my brother in law & I a full set of the Skyline Bengals cups, we really appreciated that. Will stop in here again when I'm up that way. Thanks Skyline staff.“
“Went on st Patty's day. Dined it. Waitress got really busy so not we weren't attended to often after we got our food, good thing it's good Ole skyline and you don't need much more then the perfection I ordered. Also had a takeout cup so easily refilled before leaving. Loved the green spaghetti!!!Wheelchair accessibility: There's wheel chair access into restaurants and tables to be say at comfortably“
“Food was great. I love the salmon bowls! Baja or southwest my go to. I always bring home fish and chicken. My family loves LJSMy order was mixed up and I could not get anyone to pick up the phone so the next day I went in with my receipt and they made it right. Of course I ordered another salmon bowl. They are so good!“
“One of the better Skyline restaurants that I have been to. The service is speedy and the staff is friendly and willing to go the extra mile for customer service. The only drawback is that they have their drive thru on loudspeaker in the restaurant itself allowing diners to hear each and every automobile patron and their order.“
“I like to think of my Jesus as a chicken sandwich eater and he’s in the drive thru about 5 cars back from the people taking orders. BUT he still gets his #1 deluxe with large waffles fries in less than 5 minutes from entering the drive thru lane. Because I like my Jesus to eat chicken but also to be able to get it quickly whenever he wants it.“
“Unique restaurant with an environment unlike anything else. Food was very good with unique flavor profile. The chili has an interesting cinnamon sweetness that was good and lots of cheese aided a classic coney dog. Service was good and friendly in a diner setting. If you're in the Cincinnati area, it's worth a stop at one of these locations.“
“Incredible cheesesteaks made fresh to order. I have cycled through all of them from the original to the delicious spins on the classic Ty has created. Waffle fries are great and the wings are FIRE. I have never had a bad meal here and Ty's a cool guy who is fun to talk with.“
“Oh, it's nice enough - there's a fun play area for kids, some indoor space and some outdoor seating if it's nice. There is a drive through, but when I ordered, I was directed to come around to the front to wait for my food. My nachos were ok, a little too much salsa for my preference, and well covered with everything, but I wouldn't get them again. I think it's mostly known as an ice cream spot, which they serve the Hershey's brand.I think the biggest draw is that they have a lot of choices - not only ice cream but floats and ices and sudaes and burgers and bbq. Definitely some fun options here, but not super high quality.“
“I went here after class and haven’t had them in a while. For starters I walked in and they were playing my favorite song. 10/10 right there and the food was so fresh especially the fries. The fries were so hot and my milkshake was so good. It is expensive for one person so I probably wouldn’t bring a whole family here but it was very hot and worth it as a treat.“
“Went here when were were in town and I was unsurprised. I heard reviews saying that the food was amazing and it is a Cincinnati staple. So I had to see I had to see for myself. I went with me and my family and I had an idea what to expect. Since it was my first time, the lady serving our table helped greatly on what to order. She recommended the Chilitos, and I ordered 2 of them, and I also ordered chili fries later on. The food came out quick (so did our drinks) and the food was amazing. I see why they keep their chili recipe secret, it was amazing! Can't have anyone running around with this recipe. The Chilito itself was really good, but my only complaint was probably the portion size; but that's a corporate issue and not a restaurant one. The chili fries were hot and crispy and the chili with it made it even better. Overall It had a very nice environment and I would recommend to others.“
“A little backstory: we had been traveling (flying, to be specific) for the past 5 hours and I had starving kids. It was after 9pm, and we went through the Anderson Skyline drive through for a late dinner. When we arrived home I discovered they had forgotten my child’s cheese for her three way. I called the store and asked for my options, explaining that we had been out of town and I literally had nothing to even “quick-fix” the situation. The manager asked if I could drive back to the store, and we did. Not only did the manager remake our entire order, he threw in extra cheese for my kid, extra crackers, graham crackers, Yorks, and Andes Mints. I am beyond impressed that he went so above and beyond to rectify this wrong; his simple gesture really helped the awful situation become very tolerable.“
“Newer location. Super clean. It's classic Gold Star darn good Cincinnati style chili. The price is right, service is fast and friendly, and the food is good. I don't know what more you can ask for with fast food.Parking: Surface lot“
“Food was great! We had grilled cheese and tomato soup. Marissa was an amazing waitress! She was taking care of the whole dining area, running food & drinks, taking orders and running the register! It was our first time going to a Gold Star because we wanted Tom & Chee. Great overall experience, and amazing staff! Really Marissa was awesome!“
“Honestly one of the best fast food experiences I've had. The burger was a great portion size, well seasoned, and perfectly cooked. The fries were crisp and fresh, and the coney with the spicy cheese has a very addictive flavor. You can tell they recently remodeled so it adds alot to the dining experience. Will definitely return.“
“i love this canes. it is my home. i am here so much they know me by name. but recently…. i’ve noticed… they haven’t been toasting BOTH sides of their toast. what’s up with that? this is a fine establishment and i would hope someone is toasting both sides of my toast. love you calhoun canes. please take this as constructive criticism. <3“
“When in…You eat chili. Skyline might not be the OG but it is still iconic and accessible. No where you find yourself in the Queen City.Personally, noodles are my least favorite delivery method for chili to taste buds. But, icons existing for a reason. Even though the chili is a little sweet for my liking, the chili dogs are a wiener (see what I did there) and the service is great!Legends exist for a reason!“
“I'm delighted to see a restaurant at this location again, after Sandy's closed down 50 years ago! I've been here several times already, had the chili and the cheeseburgers, great every time. Service is friendly, kitchen is fast, atmosphere is retro-cool, the whole place including the restroom is clean. I'll be a regular here.“
“I absolutely love this place! This is my absolute favorite ice cream place. The cones are awesome and so delicious. But the blizzards are the top hit there. They have really good flavors and different cup sizes. And like they say, their ice cream is really made to defy gravity.“
“First time here. It was a very pleasant experience. We had a very conscientious waitress who helped us make our choices. We both thought our food was very good. I ordered deluxe chili with the mountain of cheese on the side, and hubby ordered the chili with spaghetti noodles. 3 way chili.“
“I got the Skyline chili bowl, it comes with three hot dogs, but the chili was extremely light and the cold cheese was heavy. I ordered the habanero cheese, but I don’t think that’s what I got. The chili did not even come half way up on the dogs and I really went there for the chili. Side Greek salad was good.“
“For those that know, Skyline chili has a little more kick than Gold Star (GS is a little sweeter). Had a few coneys, very good and they never skimp on the cheese. Got a side of fries and a side of chili too. All was great. Service was also very good.“
“On a project for work nearby this location, and I can’t say enough good things about it! Excellent service, the store is immaculately maintained and the employees take their time to assemble a beautiful delicious sandwich. Not all Subway’s are created equal, but this one’s top notch.“
“Best in town by far. Been going for 18 years and have yet to have a bad experience. I've read some of these reviews and they have one little problem and they immediately want it for free. that ain't how the world works. anytime they've messed up i just ask if they can fix it and they do no problem. Great food just a bunch of stuck up people around here.“
“What's not to love? The incredible customer service? The tasty (crispy, but not too much so) tenders? perhaps the tastfully seasoned fries? Three-piece lifer here, pulled up to the West Side Cane's on Glenway, near Bridgetown. Thank you, Mr. Cane-O. Thank you.Kid-friendliness: saw a family playing, enjoying its time together, and even tho one of the little ones was a wailer, the staff was friendly and coping.“
“Lol I ordered all kinda stuff at the drive thru intercom, got to the window and he only charged me for and gave me 2 drinks and french fries. My boyfriend was like "tell them to get it right" and u declined. Paid for what he gave me and we left.I wasn't supposed to be eating that much that late at night anyway. You see how a White Castle drive-thru cashier did God's work. Lol ?Thank you White Castle for helping me with portion control.“
“Very spacious in a good location, with a big parking lot, a big number of attendants which reduces on the waiting time for placed orders. It closes at 10pm,Parking: A very big parking lot both at the front and at the back, which is free to park in.“
“First time staying in Cincinnati and a friend told me I had to at least experience skyline chili. I have ti say that it is an experience out if the gate. Although they dint have too many options, the three way and cheese dogs are the way to go. And yes, they do still add a mountain of cheese.“
“Needed a quick bite to eat while I was in the area. Super fast service, very nice staff, and a very clean restaurant. My cheese coney was so hot I had to let it cool off (not a bad thing)! I always expect the best from Skyline, and this location did not disappoint.“
“My work partner and I came in on October 6 for lunch about 12:30 or so. The sandwich artist that made my tuna and my partners club was incredible. I wish I knew his name so I could mention it publicly. The way he stacked all the toppings and not one fell off was awesome! It tastes as great as it looked. Job well done and I’ll be back!Vegetarian options: Who doesn’t like a veggie sub??“
“This was not my first time at a Hot Head Burritos but it was my first time in a while. The Newport location was fantastic. We had 7 people in our party and we all loved our food. I had a toasted burrito. The sauce that I chose was the southwest ranch and will definitely get it again. Unlike other burrito locations, Hot Head offers a lot of sauces/flavor options. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I am glad that we chose to go there and will become regulars. Thank you for great food and service.“
“My first time visiting Cincinnati for my son’s away game, I decided to make a stop to the Jersey Mikes. I was greeted upon arrival and everyone had such great manners and hospitality. There was a teenager I think they called him Tay, he was amazing. He made my Kahuna and it was perfect, good manners and personality. He really made my experience a whole lot better and as a teenager I know he has a great future ahead. Thank you guys so much“
“This is one of the most unique and delicious chili's I've ever had. It has a sweeter taste than other chili's, but it truly does work. Prices are reasonable and they have table service if you sit in. They also have a drive thru.“
“Legit some of the best coneys I’ve had. They are good! Also they love sublime and are really nice! Love this place! Will be back again! Super nice people! Remember to swHOOSH on down there and get some coneys! Super convenient parking right infront of the restaurant!“
“My family and I come here every other Friday as a treat. We absolutely love it. The staff is always very nice and they work extremely hard. They deserve a raise! Our food is always fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend! Thank you lovely folks that work here!“
