“Dinner at Eliza in Baton Rouge felt like stepping into a quietly elegant celebration of Southern hospitality—warm, thoughtful, and deeply delicious from start to finish.

We began with drinks that set the tone beautifully: a Watermelon Gimlet—fresh, fragrant, and perfectly balanced—and a crisp, subtly spiced Basil Cucumber Mule Mocktail in a copper mug. Later in the evening, a smooth Espresso Martini brought just the right note of indulgence.

The Soft Shell Crab Gnocchi was a standout—perfectly crisp and golden, served over pillowy gnocchi with Lake Pontchartrain blue crab, brightened by pesto cream and sauce vierge.

The Chicken Paillard was equally lovely: tender, pan-sautéed chicken with crispy potatoes, Creole mustard sauce, and a peppery arugula salad that brought everything into balance.

Dessert was a perfect finale: a light, tangy Lemon Ice Box Pie with a buttery graham cracker crust and just a touch of hazelnut syrup—simple and satisfying.

And while the food and ambiance were exceptional, it was Amya’s warm, gracious service that truly made the experience memorable. She was intuitive and kind, attentive without ever interrupting the rhythm of the evening—a rare and welcome gift.

“I don’t know if anyone reads anything from this site but I wanted to post a rave for the Baton Rouge location. My mom was transferred into hospice care on the day I ate at your restaurant. It was a horrible day until the nicest server/waitress I have ever had sat us down. She couldn’t have known what we were going through or how much she brightened our day. She was pregnant, I know that. Otherwise I don’t remember her name. One of those days I guess. She just had this light about her and when she smiled Everything seemed a little better. I think God put her there at that moment. Hopefully she will be there the next time we go. But if not I was posting this to tell her thankyou for being you. And good luck with your pregnancy. You are going to be an awesome mom. You are full of light and love. May God bless you abundantly.“

“Incredible people, great service. We had called in a catering order to the wrong location and within less than an hour they were able to accommodate us. 35 lbs of meat plus a large jambalaya tray... AMAZING!!! They even gave us a ton of different sauces AND helped bring it out to the car! We're so appreciative of you guys 💕“

We brought them downtown to take pictures so we went to eat as well but asked to be separated bc we were there but didmt want to intrude. The staff were attentive, funny, and helpful. They made sure both tables were on one check and helped us play a small prank on our son. We had a blast and will definitely be back!!“

“After hearing about the fresh chef kitchen through a mutual friend, I could finally drive up and get some of the prepped meals to try. The food is the best! Ideally, they are put together and significant portions. Suppose you are into portion control and local. I highly recommend these guys. I will make the drive up every time I can get there!“

They are only takeout, so if you are looking for a place with good seafood that you can pick up and go home, try NOLA Cajun Seafood.“

“A little pricey, but good food and portion sizes. The Grits and Grillade platter was filling and flavorful. Bathrooms are decorated with a rural, slapdash decor which was somewhat unsettling. Location of the restaurant is set back from the road in a strip mall so it can be slightly difficult to locate.“
