“Had a good experience visiting the store today. The employees were very nice, welcoming, and helpful, which made my visit enjoyable. I did notice however that there was some cursing being used in the environment coming from a young lady with glasses while the rest were working. While it didn’t take away completely from the positive service, I feel the atmosphere would be even better if the language stayed more professional. Overall, I appreciated the service and friendliness from the staff! Will visit again“

“Great dessert places is the Shreveport area are not plentiful, but this place is wonderful! If there is a dessert shop in the area with better quality ingredients I want to know about it.

Buttercups is located in the Silver Star Smokehouse in Bossier City. They are a separate company from the Silver Star although the employees told me that the Silver Star owns a part of the business. I was told the food is made and baked on site, not shipped in.

Why does this place rate a 5? Simple taste and quality of ingredients.

We had the Cosmic Brownie Cupcake and a caramel milkshake.

The milkshake was thick, rich, creamy and slightly malty. It tasted like they actually used cream in the shake. I haven't had this good of a shake in years. If you like light and airy, this isn't your shake.

The Cosmic Brownie - WOW! This was wonderful. The cake had a delicate crumb. It was moist, flavorful and chocolatey. This is not the standard bakery bland & dry and tastes like they only used water in the pre-mix to make the batter. The icing was plentiful and I could taste the notes of butter and cream in the icing.

You should know this is not cheap food. Our bill for those two items was $17.50. Do not think you will get McDonals's fast service. However, I promise you it is worth is. So put your patience on if you want to enjoy some dessert that is rich and decadent.

“I recently got my hands on a king cake during one of their busiest weeks and it was phenomenal! super heavy and dense but so soft and gooey. the dough to filling ration was perfect and not once slice was dry. absolutely worth every cent!!! brought me right back home to Baton Rouge with the first bite 💗“

“Was supposed to pick up the last king cake they had....was on my way to get it after getting another flavor from another place....got to Wooden Spoon and someone sold my cake. I was on my lunch break and didnt have time to go back to the other place and get one i would have gotten there if i hadnt committed to pick the one up at Wooden Spoon ....Duane asked what he could do to fix it. I jokingly said he could go get a cake at the other place and bring it to my work....he was like...ok....and that's exactly what he did...wow...dont get that kind of customer service everywhere. This was my first dealing with Wooden Spoon but wont be my last. Very impressed.“

“Me and my toddler stop by here at least once a week mostly on the weekends and this place does not disappoint! My 3 year old can eat half a dozen in one sitting if I let him…Every single time we come in, we’re always greeted by smiling faces as they’re helping customers. There is almost always a short line on the weekends but it moves very quickly. I’m so glad they opened up on this side of town. Definitely our go to donut spot!“
