“Always on the lookout for good local cooking, I stumbled upon Glenda's Creole kitchen. Never decisive, I was able to get both the smothered ribs and the red beans and sausage with two sides, corn and white beans. The woman who served me was patient and helpful as she described what some of the options were. For $12, I got a large plate of food that will give me at least one other meal. The rib was delicious with a good amount of meat on the bone and the beans and sausage were equally flavorful. If you're looking for fancy atmosphere or someplace romantic, this is not the place to go. If you're more interested in good food than decor, the rustic, homey and somewhat chaotic atmosphere is perfect.Thankfully, their visit by Anthony Bourdain has not seemed to change their way of doing business.“
“Ohhh Weee! Look- sometimes it really is just those roadside stops that provide for the best food- and this place did NOT disappoint! We treated ourselves to a variety of their offerings- including 3 types of boudin, their fried chicken & fried gator. When I tell you that I feel like I need to thank someone's ancestors for that fried chicken- I am not lying! Lol. It was juicy & fried to perfection! The gator was also fried perfectly & they're doing some magic in there with that batter - bc it was seasoned in all the right ways. The boudin was also great- we got a link of each; traditional pork, gator & a link of the crawfish. I personally didn't care for the crawfish- but that's a me thing- (gotta have my mudbugs separate! lol) but the flavor of all 3 was great. This place has themselves on the map for a reason, between the fantastic food & southern hospitality- don't miss this stop! 5 stars!“
“What more can I say.. This place is home cooked Cajun food at its finest. If you want true Cajun cooking, come to this place. The staff is fast and helpful, they do plate lunches and let me tell you... It slaps like will Smith at an awards show “
“I come for the boudin and for Charlie t's seasoning mix. According to the employee that I talked to, they do not put organ meats in their boudin so it's a bit non-traditional. She said they use ground sirloin. I prefer to have a bit of liver in my boudin but Charlie t's is still very good because it's the best season boudin i have had. It's worth coming here for the seasoning mix alone. It's the best. The only other thing I ever get here is fried liver and fried gizzards which are both pretty good. I can't speak to the other food as I've never tried it.“
“Haven't been back to Louisiana during crawfish season for quite some time and I was definitely pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste of the crawfish from this place. The crawfish were amazing and all of good size the seasoning was on point. Overall wonderful experience and would definitely return here again“
“I have not yet had the pleasure of eating at this establishment as it was closed during my time in Breaux Bridge, but I feel confident in saying that the business is an asset to the community due to its wonderful ownership.During a day trip to Breaux Bridge from over 60 miles away, my teenage daughter and her friend found themselves stranded when the manager of a chain retailer had my daughter's car towed even though they had shopped at the store and were participating in a local shopping event. The owner of Creole Lunch Box went out of her way to assist the stranded girls until my husband and I were able to make it to Breaux Bridge. She was so kind to them and defended them, even after the manager called the cops on her for no reason.I have taught my children that there is more good in this world than evil, and the owner of Creole Lunch Box proved that today. I can only assume the food and service is as good as the owner's heart. I look forward to visiting the restaurant in the near future.“
“Found this gem via Google while in Breaux Bridge and I instantly loved the atmosphere walking in.Our bartender Shaneil was great! Even when the place packed up, and she was the only one on bar, she continued to rock the service ?Food was good. I had the filet ( it was a little overcooked for my request of medium, but the flavor was still there and it cut nicely). My husband had the Zydeco gumbo and spicy scampi....both were also wonderful (yes, I had to try it LOL).We will definitely go back if we ever return to Breaux Bridge!“
“Was my first stop when I got to town. I got me two links of the smoked Boudin, got to the car, and devoured half a link before leaving the parking lot. Great store with plenty of spices to kick your food up some. The service by the lady who was working is great she was super nice. I need a place like this in Orange Park, Florida, where I live...“
“*Still love this place. I eat from or at Le Cafe at least twice a month. Catfish is still all you can eat if you can find a seat. And its still my favorite catfish . *Le Cafe has a tiny seating area, however the food is nearly amazing, if you like downhome fried food. The portions are huge, the fried catfish is seemingly endless...if you get all you can eat...“
“I discovered the pepper jack boudin balls in this place and it was love at first sight. They are deliciously seasoned and very consistent. Having tasted others elsewhere later (to compare), they are definitely the best (also in terms of quality/price). In addition, unlike the others, pepper jack is found almost everywhere in the sausage and not just in the middle. Absolutely worth testing!“
“We were passing by on a road trip on I-10 and was craving crawfish. The place was easy to get to, is spacious and was very accommodating to our large party of 12 people. Kids had a good time and we were pleased with the quality of the crawfish (medium size) and boiled shrimp, cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The breaded eggplant appetizer was good as well. We’ll definitely stop by again if we pass by!“
“Great crawfish in a setting you can't forget. This is a funky dive when you look at it, but it's all about the food. And they excel at that. Huge crawfish, well spiced and hot out of the boil pot. Ordered the 1# of crayfish and a beer. With the bread pudding dessert shared with my wife, it was the right amount of food. Bread pudding was very good-dense with nice amount of sweetness. My wife had the shrimp salad which is grilled shrimp on lettuce. There was a good amount of shrimp and filled her up. Service was good from Megan and if ever back in Breaux Bridge will be back.“
“This morning we picked up a king cake from Cajun Market Donut Co - Breaux Bridge for our weekly team meeting and let me tell you it does NOT disappoint! The freshness of this king cake blended with the wonderful taste of cream cheese and strawberry put the whole team into a blissful sugar coma and the only thing sweeter than the king cake was the great staff behind the counter making the magic happen. When I walked in this morning at a quarter till 7 they all had big smiles and positive attitudes which was a great start to my morning. I can't wait to come back and try their kolaches and donut options as well. I would highly recommend you give them a try!“
“?????⚪️Chez Jacqueline is an essential restaurant for eating French like your grandmother did.Not really a menu, she prepares what she has in stock at 79 years old and over 45 years old in the US!I had the right to a salad, a little greenery doesn't hurt, with its secret sweet sauce. Then rabbit in red wine, it’s been a long time since I’ve eaten it.She serves all this with a whole hot baguette and butter. It’s very good, rustic family cooking.“
“Always a wonderful experience at CSM! We love introducing our favorite restaurant to our friends and family and they always love it there as much as we do. The pork chop is always wonderful. One of specials was the duck and andouille gumbo which was delicious and loaded with meat. We always have a 5 star experience.“
