“This place has never let me down. The potatoes are HUGE and make a couple meals for me. Their brownies are to die for and sandwiches excellent. But I am now back on low carb and tried the chef salad. OMG. Chock full of toppings and “good” lettuce, not the bad parts, and 2 big packs of dressing plus 2 packs of croutons. I always loved this place but this amazing salad might end up being 3 meals for me. It weighed a ton! If you haven’t tried this place, you are missing out. Consistency and premium ingredients make this my #1 go to for “fast food”with a homemade at home taste, not skimping on ingredients 🤗🤗🤗♥️♥️♥️“

“This is one of the most happening place in ALLL of Denham!! Thought it was some hillbilly biker spot, until my husband's cousin Ernest Scott invited us to a show his group was giving there. The service was great, the atmosphere and music was amazing and alive, and the people were... together... enjoying themselves. I LOVED it and look forward to many more experiences there.. 😎🫡“

“I came in on 8/10/2025. Our server Melissa G needs all the praise and reward! My table never had to ask for anything. She was on top of everything. Attitude, professionalism, definitely top tier! As long as I’ve been going out to eat never had anyone to get everything you need without asking. Will definitely be back at this location more often.“

“I was working in the area and decided to stop in for a quick breakfast. Not the world’s biggest bbq fan but figured I would try. I got the grab & geaux breakfast burrito. Used the house bbq sauce on top & Oh. My. Gosh. I was genuinely in awe. Chefs kiss. Take all of my money. Still in shock at how amazing. Not only was the food insanely good, but everyone was so friendly & it was a cute (and super clean) atmosphere. 10000000/10 recommend.“

“I don’t know if anyone reads anything from this site but I wanted to post a rave for the Baton Rouge location. My mom was transferred into hospice care on the day I ate at your restaurant. It was a horrible day until the nicest server/waitress I have ever had sat us down. She couldn’t have known what we were going through or how much she brightened our day. She was pregnant, I know that. Otherwise I don’t remember her name. One of those days I guess. She just had this light about her and when she smiled Everything seemed a little better. I think God put her there at that moment. Hopefully she will be there the next time we go. But if not I was posting this to tell her thankyou for being you. And good luck with your pregnancy. “It's actually under a new name, Smoke Bayou. It was very busy but it was worth the wait. The service was solid, and the food was excellent. The beans were rich and flavorful, the slaw was crisp with well blanded dressing, the meat was fall off the bone, and the seasonings were deep with just a bit of bite. Outstanding. Give them a try.“

“So my experience at City Pork on Highland was amazing. The interior was clean and modern. I believe our servers name was Aisha, and I was honestly having a bad day and she made me feel so much better with her kindness and hospitality. My meal was the Pork Belly Hoagie and I would rate that an 8.5/10. I think if it had some pickled onions on it to balance the richness from the pork belly, it would be even more amazing. Although it did come with a pickle, but I didn’t really care for that, it was too sweet for my liking so I give that a 4/10. I also had a side of coleslaw, and it had this peppery taste, which I actually enjoyed, while it was still sweet (but not too sweet) and crunchy. I’ll give that a 7.5/10. My husband got the smoked chicken and he would give that a 9.5/10, because he wanted even more because it was so good.“

“This is my favorite place for a BBQ poboy! The BBQ is unique, and you can’t find it anywhere else! The BBQ ham poboy is my favorite, but other friends love the BBQ beef. I can’t get the poboy without the fried (always super hot and fresh) and the Cole slaw! Thanks, Jay’s, for being my favorite!!!❤️“
