“Well a friend of mine from NOLA recommended this place. He said it was a bit out of my way on the drive back from Baton Rouge back to NOLA, which it was.....I literally drove by this place as I was looking for a large sign/ restaurant parking lot etc....No it's a small building with a drive thru and maybe a walk up window for service. I noticed some picnic tables in front as I drove off.With that said....the food didn't disappoint. We had the ribs, brisket, burnt ends, and chicken wings.Look this understated joint is worth the ride if you are not from the area. Don't sleep on the smoked fried chicken wings, and burnt ends. The sides all have some added spice to them and there's pork tasso in the potato salad....different but I was all in. Actually the pickled onions and pickles had an added flavor as well.”

“Absolutely LOVE the swamp dust. I put it on just about everything. Not only is the seasoning good, Jimmy is also a nice man. Had some issues with an order, card was charged but for some reason the order didn't go through, and he was on top of it and made sure I was getting my order. “I didn't eat here, except for free spaghetti cooked as a tail gate meal. I'm not sure if the person that cooked it was an owner or just a loyal patron. The atmosphere was fun and inviting. The drinks were a bit on the higher end, but for the crowd draw, acceptable. The bar had plenty of room indoors and out, with a full bar at each. The atmosphere was festive and friendly, and the view on the creek was great. I highly recommend a stop in.Parking: There is a wide open gravel lot here. I left my vehicle over night and did not retrieve it until the next day. I had no issues. It's a mixed lot for the bar and the boat ramp.”

“Love it. I work close so I go here quite often for lunch or after work. My usuals are the chicken or beef enchiladas but, of course, you'll find all of the dishes you'd expect to find at a Mexican restaurant. You won't be disappointed with the options or quality of the food here. The couple who own the place are very friendly and personal. Both have made me feel at home and welcomed since my very first visit when it first popped up in the area. From my experiences there, there seem to be a lot of regulars and a most of diners seem to know each other and have gotten to know the owners well from frequenting the restaurant so often which should tell you something about the quality of the food and feel of the place. There are lunch specials but the prices on the regular menu aren't that bad either. I don't think I've ever paid over $20 for my meal and a drink which includes chips and salsa, so you can't complain about that. I've never had an adult beverage there since I'm mostly going midday during work but there is a bar there and if I come later people are often enjoying margaritas and such. Yes. Definitely go support this local business if you're in the mood for Mexican food. Not sure how close it is to do everyone else in that area but it would be worth a little drive as well. For me it's great to have an option for lunch, besides Subway or the Chinese place in that same shopping center. Looking forward to my next visit!”

“Went to have drink and see acoustic duo, Perique, perform on the patio. Ended up staying for both sets and really enjoyed the food (the charbroiled oyster app and grilled yellowfin tuna entree) as much as the performance. The young lady tending bar was sweet and attentive to all the patrons' needs. The group came to chat after their final set and were two terrific guys that have a real talent for their craft. A very nice evening out.”

“I have been going to Cortanza's all my life. IMO, they are the best snoball stand around! They have a ton of options including many sugar free flavors. They also have delicious soft serve ice cream, lots of options for toppings, and snack items as well. The cheesecake stuffing is particularly delicious. During the hotter months there is always a line, but it goes pretty quickly. They also sell t-shirts and recently have added cute earrings to their stock.”

“Oh how these donuts were so different then up north! Dunkin Donuts were always hard and stale. Smiley Donuts are fresh warm and delicious! We also got a donut hole with purchase. They had a great selection to choose from. Plenty of seating. This is my new donut stop.”
