Rachael's Cafe-Lafayette Reviews
Fantastic first time, great service and good was great also. Easy going atmosphere, no pressure no rush, just simply order and enjoy
I’ve been living in Lafayette for 15 years, and I have had some of the best service at Rachael’s. You can tell all of the staff have a great camaraderie, not only by watching their interaction, but by the way it comes through in their service. Well done!
Every time I come here it's busy, but the wait is never long. The staff is always very attentive and smiling. The owner is so sweet. No matter how I'm feeling when I walk in I leave with a smile. I love the atmosphere here! If you're looking for home cooking but not the dirty dishes, I highly recommend coming eat with your new family.

Rachael's Cafe is a popular spot known for its Cajun cuisine and friendly atmosphere. The restaurant gets busy during lunch hours, especially with their daily rotating lunch plates, so there may be a wait at peak times, but the pace slows down in the evening. Both indoor and outdoor seating options are available. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including fried shrimp, fried oyster, fried catfish poboy, crab patty on a bun, and seafood gumbo, which many consider the best in town. The gumbo is loaded with seafood and highly praised, with some visitors even bringing home frozen quart sizes that turn out delicious when prepared properly. The sweet potato fries are a standout, often called the best in town, perfectly fried and worth a visit just for them. The fried catfish, grilled catfish, smothered okra, and mixed vegetables also receive positive remarks, though some suggest the bread could be fresher. Service is friendly, with attentive staff who explain the menu well. Overall, Rachael's Cafe is a great place for Cajun food lovers, offering delicious dishes and a warm, welcoming environment.
