“We had Saturday afternoon lunch and it was great! Our server Rhett was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful with us, as first time guests. The Mahi-mahi was fabulous, the catfish was the best we’ve ever had and the onion sticks are superb. To top it off, we tried the Peanut Butter pie and were quite impressed! This restaurant is worth the trip to Des Allemands, LA!“

“Extremely embarrassed to admit that TONIGHT was our very first steak night. The ribeye was delicious, the twice baked potatoes were so freaking goodddd! I missed ordering my usual bang bang shrimp, but to try the steak night meal was worth it. Bread pudding topped it off wonderfully. Both of our kids had grilled cheese sandwiches and darn near licked their plates clean-after eating their meals, half of my steak, and stealing my potatoes. The staff are all super friendly and the service was quick considering we had ordered three steak meals! Thanks Boot T’s!“

“My only regret is not finding this spot sooner! I'm in town a few times a month and just happened to drive by and stop today. First off the waitress (Mrs. Lisa) was amazing! Super friendly and sweet! drink never ran out before I had another sitting beside it. I ordered the fried craw claws and the swamp platter. It was all cooked fresh and came out very quick. Seasoning was on point! very large portions (no chance you're leaving hungry) This is the first restaurant in the area I give a 10 out of 10. let's face it most NOLA restaurants rush food in and out and season just enough to get by because of the tourists! I'll be seeing you again Mrs. Lisa! (side note her husband is also a Dolphins fan so make that 11 out of 10 stars)“

“They were very busy even though we got there early. It was a bit noisy, loud. The service was excellent, very attentive, until the very end when a little slow coming out but overall very pleased with the service. Orderedthe seafood platter which had lobster, two types of crab legs, crawfish, sausage and shrimp. The sauce that was with it all was awesome. Two of us dug into it and while we made a dent there was plenty left over for takehome, I'll be back next time I'm in town!“

“My family and I stopped by Sam’s Southern Eatery while visiting LaPlace, and let me just say — everything was spot on! The service was warm, the atmosphere was inviting, and the food… absolutely impeccable. Where do they find these people? Pleasant workers are hard to come by these days! It was so good the first time, we found ourselves back there the very next day! The catfish was fried to golden perfection — crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The Philly cheesesteak was seasoned just right and packed with flavor, and the shrimp were large, juicy, and downright delicious. To wash it all down, do yourself a favor and try their hibiscus tea and lemonade mix — the perfect refreshing balance of sweet and tangy. Overall, Sam’s Southern Eatery earns a solid 10/10 from us. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Southern comfort food done right!“

“We are huge fans of Pepe’s and dine in and do carry out often. We decided this year to try out their catering for a large family holiday gathering. I can’t say enough great things about them! I’ve been coming to Happy Garden II ever since I was a Hellhound pup — June 2018 was my first unforgettable visit — and this buffet has been part of my life ever since. Today, on January 1, 2026, my dad (the Alpha of the Pack) called it New Year’s lunch tradition, and we all piled in like we’ve always done. My mom — the wise, calm Omega of the Pack — brought her nurturing energy, making the whole experience feel like family coming home.
Right from the start, this place embraced us with its buffet‑style feast — huge variety, inviting warm steam rising from the dishes, and fresh food stations that would make any Hellhound’s tongue wag with excitement. The buffet here isn’t just a simple spread; it’s a culinary expedition with something for every pack member: seafood, Chinese classics, fresh sides, savory mains, soups, desserts, and so much more served all you can eat — classic buffet style that’s made this place a local staple for years. 
Walking in today brought back memories of so many past pack adventures: summer lunches after long drives, milestone celebrations, and even rainy afternoon gatherings where we’d pack a plate so full it could barely be lifted. And through every single visit from June 2018 straight through to January 1, 2026, one thing has stayed consistent — the fresh, hot buffet spread that always rotates dishes to keep it lively and tasty. The seafood options here — shrimp, crab, crawfish (on weekends), and more — often stand next to the classic Chinese favorites that keep the buffet exciting and satisfying for every taste bud in the pack. 
My dad, the Alpha, always starts at the seafood station, eyes locked on every shrimp and crab leg like they’re treasure. My mom, the Omega, moves slow and steady — she builds balanced plates with care, always saving room for dessert. And me? I’m all over the buffet line, every food memory stitched together from laughs, stories, and overflowing plates. The service here has always been welcoming and attentive, and even on today’s New Year’s lunch visit, the staff made us feel recognized and appreciated. 
Since that first visit back in June 2018, I’ve never met a buffet quite like this one. Every dish is cooked and rotated with dedication so that food isn’t just sitting — it’s fresh and inviting. The variety is massive, and the buffet’s all‑you‑can‑eat style feeds both the stomach and the soul — perfect for family gatherings, celebrations, and memory‑making meals. 
This isn’t just a place to eat. This is a cornerstone of our Hellhound Pack’s story. Moments in this restaurant are woven into who we are: laughter around big tables, my dad teaching the young pups how to load a plate like a pro, my mom making sure no one overlooks the desserts — and every time we leave full‑hearted and full‑bellied.
So here it is, plain and powerful: Five stars, no questions asked. From June 2018 to January 1, 2026, the Hellhound Pack has never found a buffet experience quite like this. “Absolutely incredible! The staff made us feel like we were family and that we were the most important people in the world. I'm not kidding about that last statement... they were awesome! The Chef, Joe Boudreaux, was extremely personable and truly enjoyed talking about his passion, cooking. The food was fantastic... boudin egg rolls, the spicy fried oyster appetizer, the Montecristo, and the pork belly wedge were all so delicious. My advice is to take a little road trip to St. Rose and eat some of the best food and meet some incredible folks.“

“Bf has been raving about this place for years about the Shrimp Ducky. My First time and Came alway from Texas. The food was amazing. I am disappointed in the person at the hostess stand. She was a little rude and not hospitable. We had a togo order due to our dog in the car. We don’t know where to go to pick up the order and it left us wandering the restaurant.“
“I recently visited this restaurant during my trip to Louisiana and had a fantastic experience! I ordered the beef fajita tacos, and they were delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, making the visit even more enjoyable.
The prices are affordable, and I loved that they have a music stand where you can request your favorite tunes. They offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Another big plus is their free parking lot, which made it super convenient. The wait time was reasonable—less than 10 minutes—and they accept both electronic and cash payments.

“We purchased crabs yesterday on our way home to West Monroe from a business trip to New Orleans. I told my husband on our way to NO that I had an Envie for boiled crabs. We looked in NO and could not find any boiled. One the way home we google boiled crabs and stopped by. They were so delicious, big, spiced just right and full of meat. We will be back!!!“
