Staff is great. Thats the best part here. It's really loud for a bourbon bar. I was expecting a bit more of a selection of current year allocated bourbon. Elijah Craig pick is very nice.
It’s a pretty cool bar, but it’s a little frustrating that it’s hard to figure out what anything costs (prices aren’t posted anywhere that I’ve seen) and it attracts an odd crowd of what appears to be mostly rich transplant yuppies. It feels like a NYC bar someone plopped in New Orleans.I will say I did really enjoy the Christmas decorations. Cozy ambience with a unique, delicious drink menu. They also offer their kitchen to local food businesses, and the Asian fusion one there when I went was phenomenal. Donavin makes a wonderful drink called “Thank You for Being a Friend” with Louisiana run, almond, passionfruit, and smoky amaro – must try! I was in town for the Home + Garden Show, and Barrel Proof was the perfect unwind!
