“Stumbled upon this place, and we were pleasantly surprised. The "gentleman" that greets and ultimately seats you can be a bit abrasive but it can be overlooked as the food is no fuss awesomeness! Burgers and such cooked as you wait and everything we had “

“Awesome food, big portions, reasonable prices, and friendly service. We found this place on the second morning of our vacation, and went there again for breakfast on the day we left because it was that good. Support this place, folks, because I want it to be there next time I go back to New Orleans.“

Southern Smoque Diner Diner • $
7025 Bullard Ave, New Orleans

“Sadly the 1 piece of grilled catfish and 1/4 pound of shrimp for $16.59 was over priced but it was very tasty. I switched out for the red beans and rice instead of white rice, they make it “wet” and they were wonderful, some of the best ever but didn’t justify the price of the full meal. It’s a take out place with a few tables, however a piece of bread, a 1/4 pound of shrimp, 1 piece of catfish and a stack of lettuce (called salad) just doesn’t stack up in this area at over $16. COMPARE: Last night we went to BB KINGS, I had the large BBQ pulled pork dinner which was the best pork I have ever eaten for less money than take out tonight. BBs added ambiance, a blues band and a NOLA street view from a balcony. Life doesn’t get any better the BB KINGS. Sorry“

Steve's Diner Diner • $

“It's on second floor, in a nice food court. Was the only place open in the food court at 1015a on Wednesday, and no line. $3.50 for a large breakfast burrito of eggs, cheese and sausage. Sausage was cut up patties, but for the price I didn't expect much.“

“It's a great place for a typical small dinner. The breakfast was spot on and we had a good time. I gave it four stars because it's not very big and they cram everyone in so you are very close to other groups. The food and service are five “

“Come here frequently but today's visit was disappointing. The hamburger steak were three patties about the size of thickness of what you would get on at McDonald's regular hamburger. Very disappointing. This is not what they typically served in the past which was one very big, thick piece of ground beef Patty. The mashed potatoes were good but lukewarm. And the string beans were so salty and spicy I couldn't get through half of them. Also the young gentleman was nice who waited upon us but had to be asked several times for various things. It was like he had attention deficit disorder.“

“don't go here unless you want to sit and wait for over. hr to still not even get your food. and then you get threatened by the staff. horrible service We arrived at this location at 1230. The restaurant was empty it. Took 10 mins before we were even sat at a table. Then another 20 mins before the waiter came and took our order. We waited another 10 mins asked for our drinks and the waiter has a smart comment ( wait and see how long it takes you to get your drinks now since we asked for them) then another waiter came up and had to take the whole order again since the first one never put it in the system. We sat there for a whole hr and other customers amd in and received there food and left before we even got ours. After a hr I asked the waitress about out food and she told me another 30 mins. I don't understand why I have to wait over a hr and a half to get food at 1 am when the restaurant was empty. Pluss when we told her to cancel the order the first waiter started laughing and threatening us.“
