Gumbo Shop is my favorite NOLA restaurant and we eat there every visit. Etouffee is delicious and the gumbo is of course fabulous. Relaxed atmosphere, decent prices and casual dress make it a go-to stop for us.Dietary restrictions: Wife is gluten free and has a dairy allergy. They offered the red beans and rice, which have neither and she LOVED her dish.
Chose this place based on the reviews. We were not disappointed. The food was amazing. Brandon, our waiter, took charge and made some really good suggestions on what to eat. We had a little bit of everything and it was all very very good.

Very good local cuisine for what I tasted, fast and efficient service, room a little too noisy for my taste. There's a way to find something quieter and just as good...I don't understand why there's always a queue to get there!
