We recently moved from the Lower Garden District to Bywater, are exploring nearby take-out options, and decided to give True Cajun Seafood at try, in hopes of getting banh mi as promoted on their signage. The owner, Mr. Billy, explained that his mother-in-law used to make them but she's since retired.So we decided to get fried shrimp po-boys which did not disappoint. This corner shop is awesome - the banh mi's are delicious. Lunch hot plates are super affordable, you can get a very filling (and delicious!) meal for $5. Of course, you can get some of your necessities here as well. They also have sno-balls which I have yet to try.
