The name of the place told me it might be a hidden gem, and my instinct was right! The food was incredible!!! I had the Jack Dempsey (roast beef and swiss) with a side of WWII (potato casserole)... it was like my grandmother had made it. This will be my new stop every time I am passing through the area!
Stopped for lunch today while in Opelousas, and the food was delicious. The staff was very sweet and personable and they had several regulars visit while I was in there. Definitely will be visiting again when I'm in Downtown Opelousas.

I'd always meant to stop at the little local place on the square, near the Bowie Oak. I'm so glad I finally did. It's tiny and charming, and has the most friendly and helpful owner, Ms. Wanda! Back in Time sort of combines an antique and collectible shop with a cafe! It's cozy and easy to like.
