“The negative: Parking lot was small; had a difficult time getting my truck out after someone parked near me while I was dining. Was also there 5 to 10 minutes before I had the waitress’s attention. The positive: Food was absolutely outstanding. Roux was perfect. Remoulade was close to world class; I’ve had it in 5 star restaurants in Vegas that wasn’t this good. Kind of food you travel a bit to get to. I’ll put up with the negatives if that’s indicative of the rest of their menu.“

The menu was a little overwhelming just because I’m not familiar with the food they provide. But, this is an excellent choice if you are visiting.“

I’ve driven past this unassuming deli countless times, never giving it a second glance. But today, I decided to stop in around 8:45 AM, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. The breakfast I ordered was not only delicious but also incredibly satisfying.

The price point is comparable to McDonald's, but the quality and portion sizes are on another level. I was thrilled to see they offer breakfast burritos and pancakes, which I’m definitely trying on my next visit. The oysters, black and blue tips & wine were so wonderful we returned after business the next night to try more. Round 2 included the Feta Whipped Brussels, Creole French dip & Duck + Butter beans. “The steaks are excellent and the server, Mary, was beyond expectations. The entire meal, in my opinion, was heaven on Earth. Going to Doe's is a pleasure that I drive 30 miles to enjoy at the very least once a month and often more frequently. The drinks are top notch. Tonight I had the featured French Onion Soup and it was surpassed only by the French Onion Soup in Paris, France. Overall I would give the entire experience a TEN.“

“My first time here at J.Alexander's. So worth the trip from Lafayette. My entire meal has been remarkable. I ordered the red wine blend Parradoxx, which had a slight Pinot Nior flavor to it. I ordered a house salad with Blue Cheese dressing which was rich and full of woodsy flavors. My salad was a big hit with me. Vegetables were crisp and served with beautiful presentation. I ordered the Filet with Berinaise sauce and baked potatoe. It was cooked so perfectly that it was truly a work of art. For dessert I got the chocolate cake. I am not usually a chocolate fan at all but this did not disappoint!! The rich cocoa blended perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. Now for the service... my waiter, Ali, was so good. His knowledge of the menu was very good, but his quiet professionalism was undeniable. He checked all the boxes as to dressings and preparation, but he additionally checked for how and when you wanted everything served. Ali, eyes were constantly scanning to be certain that my meal and needs were being met. Now, I don't know anything about Ali, except that he was young, but he could have been at home in the finest restaurants in Chicago! His attention to detail made my incredible lunch even more spectacular! An incredible meal, prepared exquisitely, with a waiter like Ali! Just absolutely perfect!“

“The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu which included the French onion soup, fried oyster salad and for entrees we ate the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict and Short Rib Benedict. The manger was so gracious as to give me a small bottle of champagne to take home since all the desserts were made with chocolate and I am allergic. We will definitely be back for the dinner menu. Fantastic table side service, beautiful ambiance and excellent master chef food.“

“I walked over here from the hotel Indigo where i was staying, where they seemed to balk at my need for a late dinner (9 pm). The bartender/server Delvin at Kingfish made me feel welcome and took excellent care of me. It was relaxing and comfortable in the bar area too. This man is an asset to your hotel and restaurant!“
