“Food is always fantastic and the service is excellent! I love that they always have nice dog treats on hand to give to our pups (who LOVE to go through their drive through!) The shrimp po-boys are one of our favorite “comfort meals” and while the line can be very long when they have dinner specials (!!), it is always worth it. Snowballs are good, too! The “frequent customer” program could use some tweaks; some employees seem unfamiliar that it even exists and while I have signed up for it, using it is problematic. Very small complaint though for an otherwise fabulous little place to get food from!“
“Very cute, vintage, old school genuine diner. Great service, great food, and loved meeting the owner. Hard workers. True Americana. Love their slogan “God bless Mel’s and God Bless America!” ??Will definitely be back when we’re in the area.“
“Been trying to try this place. I only see the daily specials until I saw the real menu. It's a bit far but it's definitely worth the drive. I ordered take out, got shrimp eggplant and oyster po-boy. The shrimp eggplant is very delicious. The oyster was a bit off putting. My bad ordering oysters during the non-ber months. I still highly recommend this place. Can't wait to be back. The place is cool, very Cajun and service is great.“
“This is a quaint restaurant in the middle of Broussard. There is a nice sitting area under large oak tree. Food is always delicious. You can wait a little while, even if you call in an order as it is popular. I recommend checking it out. No alcohol is served but if you want to bring your bottle of wine and enjoy their yard, you can.“
“There was one employee waiting on everyone including at the bar. She did a great job. I'm picky and my order was to the T! The only thing was that our beans didn't have any flavor. Food came out in a great amount of time and our drinks kept coming. Thanks to our waitress/only employee, besides for the kitchen staff and our lady that brought us chips, you were great!“
“I'll keep it short. Great food and service for a decent price. If you're looking for a good place to eat this may be the spot for you. The food was really good and the service was great. They don't try and coddle you like some want to be. But they are nice and courteous.“
“Stopped in with less than 30 minutes to close for lunch. Found a nice selection of meats and vegetables on the steam table. Picked the baked chicken plus greens, mixed vegetables, and rice dressing. They add dinner roll. Chicken fell off the bone tender, and they gave me enough for two people so I ate half and two sides. Saved the rest for later.Locally owned restaurant food is so much better than the franchise stuff. You just have to look outside the high rent strip mall areas.“
“I tried the hot dog my wife & i & yes they are exceptional good the chill was awesome & The Lejeune Buns are a key success for hot dogs. The kicker on the hot dogs is they put plenty of chill you don’t have to ask for extra chill when you phone in your order. This was Tuesday so I said today I try the cheeseburger & fries & a medium drink it was awesome also they make their own meat patties it’s not a patty like Burger King ships in . The Price was good also this combo was $11.31 . I am from New Iberia & I will be back. The service was 15 minutes or less & the employee was nice at the window.“
“5 stars are not enough!!! Came in for breakfast, suggested by our Airbnb & let me tell you...absolutely the best I've ever had, & SUCH a great portion for the price!! We went for the Baller Breakfast & it had just about everything they offer, for literally only 6.50!! Delicious french toast & grits. Friendly, family service, nice chill atmosphere..would come back to St Martinville JUST to come here to eat.“
