“What a lovely and random find! We decided to stop in while exploring and running errands. The name reflects the food and the welcome. It certainly is a place to find a bit of Mana from heaven, elevating your mood and day. The owner and chef is an authentically, welcoming, light filled person.

We had the fresh juice (strawberry and orange) and the waffles with blue berries, eggs with onions and turkey sausage. Everything was phenomenal and just the right portions! The eggs were perfect! The portions were just right so you are satisfied but not over stuffed. Everything was fresh and you could taste it and your body feels it. Berries and fruit. I did not even need syrup. The hot butter was the perfect addition.

I wholeheartedly recommend Mana Bakery Cafe. It really must be made with love, as she said.“

“Solid casual spot for banh mi. My mom likes to stop by here to grab a couple when we're in the area. Service is friendly and there's some desserts available to buy. Doesn't take too long for the order to be ready. Limited parking spots but there isn't usually a big line or anything so it should be fine. Every…single…item was fantastic: the pastry was beautifully laminated; the fruits were perfect balances of sweet and tart; the meats were flavorful; the cinnamon was present but not overwhelming; and that baguette sandwich was possibly one of the best things either of us had ever eaten from a bakery. To top it off, the lovely person who was taking orders and working the POS system was just as polite and pleasant as one could ever expect. (Embarrassingly, I cannot remember their name.) “Bittersweet Confections made our wedding cake, and choosing Cheryl was one of the best decisions we made. She is 100% worth the investment. We specifically prioritized in our budget to have her create our cake because her flavor combinations and icing are truly unmatched — and it paid off in every way.

We opted for one stunning cake rather than multiple desserts. Our four‑tier, bright white Lambeth-style cake with cherries was absolutely breathtaking. Inside, we alternated between almond and lemon cakes, all with her incredible vanilla buttercream icing. It was not only beautiful — it was delicious.

We had so many guests, including self-proclaimed “not cake people,” tell us how much they loved it. Even now, people still bring up how amazing the cake was. It truly became one of the stars of the night.

Beyond our wedding, I also love stopping by Bittersweet for a quick lunch or sweet treat. It’s a wonderful business run by even more wonderful people.

If you’re considering Bittersweet Confections for your wedding or any special occasion — do it. You won’t regret it.

“Excellent baked goods at this friendly and popular corner shop. The pecan croissant was flaky, sweet, and crunchy. The polenta cookie had a lovely grainy texture. I love their attention to detail on their recipes and the staff recommendations they've posted in their case.
They have several tables inside, outside along the street, and in a shaded patio.
There is free parking on surrounding streets.“

When I got there, they were out of shrimp so….chicken and beignets it is. Listen!!! “We ate there while on vacation and their coffee and their twist on french toast was the best I’ve had. The service was top notch and the cafe was very clean :) Highly recommend stopping in.“

“Grow up with randazzo's baked goods. Happened to be in St Bernard parish and could not resist stopping by to get my fix on my way back out of town.

They have a chewy macaroon type cookie both in chocolate and anise flavor which is my all-time favorite. Of course I also had to get some of their cake chocolate iced donuts as well. Nona randazzo's bakery goods are not cheap by any means, but that's true for all private bakeries. Nona randazzo's goods are as good or better than any other bakery in the New Orleans area.“

The gentleman who served us, to whom I believe is the owner/manager, greeted us with kindness and amazing generosity. The food we had was the cookie ice cream as well as the cake ice cream. “Oh my gosh I bought a box as a souvenir to share with the family. All the pralines I have ever had have been too sugary and hard. Miss Loretta’s Pralines are better than chocolate and her Praline Stuffed beignets are better than the “other very popular place!” I also love the Jesus signs!! I wish I would have bought more!“

“Great little shop that specializes in cheesecake, obviously. The name intrigued me as I passed by on my way to a jobsite and I felt compelled to stop by to check it out. I had never seen a bakery that was strictly cheesecake before, and the positive reviews only reinforced my decision to see what it was all about.

It was getting close to closing time when I arrived and there were five or six flavors of the personal size to choose from, ready to go.

I went with a personal sized Chocolate, and Strawberry Swirl which were to be split and shared with a coworker, and cupcake sized Piña Colada.

The cupcake size didn't survive the parking lot because I devoured it immediately. It was fabulous!

The flavors of the other two were also wonderful, with perfect texture and not too dense, and with just the right sweetness. They left nothing to be desired, except MORE!

It was excellent. The two bakers I spoke to were also just as delightful as the cheesecakes.

I hope this little shop stays open as I intend on stopping by again.
