“We thoroughly enjoyed all the trays we got at Ayu Bakehouse on our recent trip to New Orleans! The staff is very friendly, and it’s clear they love the place and the products they produce! Of all the items we tried I would have to say that the one that was hardest for me to share with my family was the muffuletta sticks!“

“They craft all of their baked goods on site and it’s obvious someone has real skill. We had a croissant with pecan, coconut and filled with a pecan paste and it was in a word- amazing. Great atmosphere and the barista was fun to talk to about dialing in for coffee every time they change beans. Great time and great place.“

“My husband and I visited Levee twice on our recent three-day trip to NOLA, and we would have gone again had we stayed longer! We enjoyed a ham and Swiss croissant, a breakfast sammy, various fruit danish, a morning roll with cinnamon and icing and a jambon et buerre with cornichon. Every…single…item was fantastic: the pastry was beautifully laminated; the fruits were perfect balances of sweet and tart; the meats were flavorful; the cinnamon was present but not overwhelming; and that baguette sandwich was possibly one of the best things either of us had ever eaten from a bakery. To top it off, the lovely person who was taking orders and working the POS system was just as polite and pleasant as one could ever expect. (Embarrassingly, I cannot remember their name.) I simply cannot recommend this lovely bakery enough!“

“Bittersweet Confections made our wedding cake, and choosing Cheryl was one of the best decisions we made. She is 100% worth the investment. We specifically prioritized in our budget to have her create our cake because her flavor combinations and icing are truly unmatched — and it paid off in every way.

We opted for one stunning cake rather than multiple desserts. Our four‑tier, bright white Lambeth-style cake with cherries was absolutely breathtaking. Inside, we alternated between almond and lemon cakes, all with her incredible vanilla buttercream icing. It was not only beautiful — it was delicious.

We had so many guests, including self-proclaimed “not cake people,” tell us how much they loved it. Even now, people still bring up how amazing the cake was. It truly became one of the stars of the night.

Beyond our wedding, I also love stopping by Bittersweet for a quick lunch or sweet treat. It’s a wonderful business run by even more wonderful people.

If you’re considering Bittersweet Confections for your wedding or any special occasion — do it. You won’t regret it.

“Excellent baked goods at this friendly and popular corner shop. The pecan croissant was flaky, sweet, and crunchy. The polenta cookie had a lovely grainy texture. I love their attention to detail on their recipes and the staff recommendations they've posted in their case.
They have several tables inside, outside along the street, and in a shaded patio.
There is free parking on surrounding streets.“

“I was in Tremé for four days, and I ate and drank coffee at Fatmas each and every single one of those days. The coffee was amazing. The food was delicious and their pastries were just beautiful. I loved the atmosphere and the outside seating. There’s even a couple of open windows where you can just stand and look out and feel the breeze while you’re waiting for your food. I wish that I lived closer so that I could go there every day.“

When I got there, they were out of shrimp so….chicken and beignets it is. Listen!!! Let me tell you, them glazed beignets had me wanted to drive back to MS to slap my mama for not taking me there before. My Goodness!!!! Cafe du who? I will never eat Cafe du Monde again! And because I wanted a little of everything, I had the pecan glazed ones too. I just ate them for a snack. They are so good, even cold! Definitely on my list to return. The gentleman who served us, to whom I believe is the owner/manager, greeted us with kindness and amazing generosity. The food we had was the cookie ice cream as well as the cake ice cream. “Celtica has fast become our new favorite breakfast place. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and prices are reasonable. The vibe is a pleasant mixture depending on the time of visit but mostly very friendly mixture of gen x and millennials. The only hang up i have is the available seating, this place needs more seating as it is gaining popularity quickly.“

“I can’t recommend Victoria’s Bakery enough…GO THERE…you won’t be disappointed! As a former pastry chef who made viennoiseries (croissants and puff pastry) and other French baked goods from scratch, I can say this place is amazing! The croissants shatter when you bite into them, the napoleon is a fun tale with fresh fruit, and the diplomat cream in the cannoncini is perfectly light and creamy. The pastry cream in the tarts is perfectly set, and the tart shell isn’t soggy at all and has a perfect flakiness. The mocha (I had it with oat milk) was absolutely wonderful! We were in New Orleans with the intention of visiting as many places as possible, and tried not to repeat visits to the same place, but Victoria’s Bakery was so good that we returned 3 separate times to enjoy the different pastries!“
