“Have been a District fan since they first opened 10 years ago, we always make a point to stop in for our favorite NOLA breakfast—a miso praline bacon egg and cheese biscuit and a hot chicken and honey butter biscuit—when we’re in town. This time, we got in line before 11a but given a tour arrived just in front of us we didn’t make it to the register until 11:10, at which time we were told breakfast was no longer being sold. The woman in front of us had just ordered breakfast, so we questioned this, but the cashier was impatient and stood by that he would only be serving us lunch. We still enjoyed the chicken sandwich and sopapilla donut we had, but were sad that an exception couldn’t be made.“
“A must see when you’re in NOLA! Of course there was a line, but it moved rather quickly. I was probably only waiting for 15 minutes. The beignets were better at Cafe Beignet, but you can’t beat the history of this place! They only accept cash, so make sure you have that on hand. If not, there is an ATM across the street.“
“The best donuts you'll ever eat served by the nicest folks you'll ever meet. We go at least once each time we visit New Orleans and Blue Dot never disappoints! Don't miss the Chocolate Iced Sourdough which is my #1 favorite donut of all time!“
“Four years ago, I moved from my beloved Arizona to Florida. Turns out nobody there knew how to make a apple fritter to save their life. Rolled up on my birthday this year and a move to New Orleans. Thought I'd give my all-time favorite sweet treat one more shot. Sure glad I did. These are incredibly, incredibly delicious. Perfect, apple fritters. Yum ... going into a sugar coma.“
“Ohhh myyyy! I was in town for the weekend and my Uber driver mentioned this place. He was awesome and stopped here so we could grab some donuts. This place is adorable, smells amazing, and it was nearly impossible to choose because they all looked incredible. My favorite was the strawberry cheesecake! Delicious and worth every calorie!!?“
“I haven't been to the Donut Bakery in a decade, primarily because I don't spend a lot of time in the east. But I've always known that they make great donuts. The shop was listed in the Yelp donut collection, so I thought I'd go out of my way to try them out again.I bought a dozen of mixed donuts and an apple fritter for $13, including tax. It was probably the best fritter I've eaten in the past 10 years, at least. The edges were crispy, the middle soft, and, get this, there was apple in almost every bite. I don't remember the last time I've eaten an apple fritter that contained more than trace amounts of real apple. It was generously coated in icing and the cinnamon was on point. Service was fine. The young lady who assisted me was hospitable and fast. There was a short line, and people kept coming, but it moves quickly. As for ambiance, it's clean. It's definitely a hole in the wall, but you don't go to Donut Bakery for excellent ambiance. You go for great tasting and reasonably-priced donuts.“
“The name is now Mr. B's but the baked goods are as good or better! My favorite donuts, especially warm. There are hot food breakfast options that are delicious as well! Don't forget birthday cakes.... yummy!! Go check them out!! You won't be sorry.“
“This coffee shop is one of my favorites in New Orleans, I always go here when I’m in the Bywater. They have delicious drinks and food here and such a good atmosphere. The outdoor patio is well shaded, large, and perfect for a nice day (though somewhat lacking in outlets), and the inside is filled with local art and good vibes.Vegetarian options: I got a delicious bean and potato and cheese bowl that was very affordable and tasty.“
“I stopped by Mr. B's Bakery and purchased 3 dozen glazed beignets for my coworkers and I. Some of them have never had a glazed beignet before until now, and needless to say, they absolutely loved them. Hot, fresh, and a beignet. Their beignets are a 10 out of 10. Service - 8 out of a 10Ambiance - 5 out of 10. Please don't think that this is a fancy spot because it is not. I normally go in, order what I need to order, then leave. Yes, they sell breakfast plates and breakfast sandwiches as well. Grab a plate of liver and grits while you're there.“
“I love this restaurant's atmosphere - lighting, seating, music. It's so chic and contemporary but also comfortable and conveys that Southern warmth. Delicious food, and the best Biscuits I have ever had! I eat here basically every other Sunday morning! And crave their Cinnamon rolls OFTEN, let me tell you LOL.“
“If you're in need for an early and quick breakfast, stop at Tastee. The service is quick, the food is fresh and the grit are on point. It's not the biggest location, but the staff is quite friendly. My family and I took our meal to go, but we all agreed this spot deserves more than one visit.“
“Loved this little coffee and high-end doughnut shop. Their coffee/lattes/etc is soooo good. (FYI for the chai lovers out there theirs is pretty sweet.) Their doughnuts and other baked goods are SOOO good but unfortunately it's really a grab a go place. There's a small patio but wasn't very nice to sit in. We enjoyed it a lot though and during our stay in NOLA visiting with family we went there practically every day for coffee and baked goods.“
“Heard that coming to Cafe Du Monde is on the bucket list for some, so we had to try while in NOLA; I’m sure there is a reason why they sell 30,000 of the beignets everyday!! Waited in a long line up that moved relatively fast. There is a separate line for take-out. Their operation is a well oiled machine. There is a large outdoor seating area with lots and lots of tables. There are only a handful of items to choose from- coffees and hot chocolate to their famous beignets. We ordered the cafe au lait, hot chocolate and beignets. Had never tried beignets before so it was a treat especially with the mounds of powdered sugar they put on top. You get 3 in an order. The texture is definitely doughie and the powdered sugar adds that sweetness that is needed. Tastes good when you dunk it in your coffee. The hot chocolate was great according to our kiddos. Local musician playing right outside made it more enjoyable. We visited every single day we were in NOLA. It’s cash only! They aren’t 24x7 anymore.“
“Shrimp plate was BANGING! We went just after 7pm and had to wait a bit for our food but it was worth it. They still had a good selection of donuts as well. When we looked for a place to pick up dinner we saw this place had decent reviews from locals, but the menu was from 2007. Wanted to upload the 2023 version to show prices haven't gone up much and you still get alot of food for your money.“
“I have to brag on this place !!! They’re phenomenal. The lady at the register at the cafewas so sweet. I forgot to get her name, but she made my breakfast sandwich special just for me !! And then I went next-door to the bakery for three buttermilk drops and ended up getting a dozen of mixed because everything just looked so good !!! Miss NeeNee was so helpful and very friendly !! You don’t get service like this much in the industry anymore, and it was very pleasing to have dealt with all these wonderful people this morning!! I live across the lake, but I will always stop over here when in the area !!!!!Vegetarian options: My friend is a pescatarian, and sometimes vegetarian, and she loves this place !! The hash is top-notch, and they give you a very healthy portion !!!“
“When I was in New Orleans I was ECSTATIC to get to try such an iconic restaurant (and fulfill my childhood Princess and The Frog dreams). The menu is short and sweet and shows they know what they're doing. The staff was incredibly helpful and sweet but definitely moved through the line pretty rapidly. The inside of the restaurant itself was super cute and cozy but nothing too crazy-very simple. I got the hot chocolate which was so full of flavor and richness as well as the beignets. This may be a controversial statement, but I thought the beignets were a bit too rich. I'm someone who typically likes rich foods but this (especially paired with the hot chocolate) was just too much. The beignets had great flavor and the powdered sugar was delicious but overall I just thought it was too rich of a food. I would recommend for when you're in the area but be weary that it is a HEAVY meal!!“
“Forget the more known places in the quarter and find your way to Midcity for these beignets. They are light and fluffy and delicious. They also give you a shaker of powdered sugar, so you can decide how mich you want. And the service is great. It's also a beautiful place.Vegetarian options: BeignetsParking: They have their own lot.Kid-friendliness: It's basically a donut shop.Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp and handicap parking.“
