I bought their guava and cheese king cake this week, it was delicious! I liked that it was NOT drowning in icing. Just the right amount to add sweetness without going overboard. I think guava was also an excellent choice for a filling. I would definitely recommend. I also picked up a couple of empanadas, they were also very tasty. I am interested in trying some of their other baked goods.
What a sweet bakery, sandwich shop, and grocery store. The guava cheese King Cake was a light and fluffy brioche dough and absolutely delicious. I could not resist biting into the pastries (both savory and sweet) on my walk.I appreciate having a source for Latinx supplies in Mid-City! The staff was very welcoming and courteous y nosotros hablamos español. Everyone is always friendly when I pop into Normas. The guava and cheese king cake during Mardi gras season is amazing but you can get guava and cheese pan which is the same tasty thing.
