The guy at the counter was kind of rude and charged our food separately which was kind of weird - though I truly feel it was for the extra tax. We waited 20-30 minutes but food was still hot. “Update: our second experience was pickup and not fantastic- not terrible but pretty skimpy on pepperoni and cheese. I messaged the business a pic but didn’t hear back. It was a busy Friday night a few weeks ago but still no response. Just an acknowledgment of a seen message would make me feel better about spending our money there In the future. Hoping they just forgot to circle back Finally made it there! Walking through the door, I literally said to my husband, maybe it won’t suck. It did not! This is the first neighborhood spot we’ve been to since moving here that we are looking forward to going back to. Our server was great, no complaints. She was very friendly and comfortable. The bartender checked in on us too. The atmosphere was perfect, 90s music playing. We had mozzarella sticks and a New Haven Supreme, and both were yummy. Their Italian sausage is too sage-y for me, but my husband liked it. Can’t wait to go back and try something else, especially with the charred poblano cream as a base sauce because it’s really good as a dipping sauce.“

“When I saw $21.95 for a 20oz ribeye I kinda chuckled in my head and expected a Waffle House type steak. I asked the waitress if it was good and she simply said “yeah, it’s good”. What transpired a few minutes later made me contemplate everything I thought I knew about a good ribeye. This thing was melt in your mouth, perfectly cooked, and had an absolutely astonishing flavor. Kick the price out the door. I live almost 4 hours away and would pay $80 for that steak as I type. It was so good I went back for another the next night. Gladly passing up all the other opportunities that NOLA has to offer. Weirdly the same people who we sat next to the night before were at the table next to us ordering the steak again. Astonishing what you get for the price. I could make a whole separate rant about how good the potato skins and gumbo are as well. Great job!!!! Best experience of our whole trip.“

“I haven't been to this restaurant since before Hurricane Katrina. And of course Katrina destroyed so much of the New Orleans area. The restaurant was closed for quite some time after, however they've since added more space and created a beautiful atmosphere. They've added a beautiful bar in the back with great art works through out the restaurant and of course family photographs dating back to it's inception. They even have fantastic family photographs of the late 1,800's!!! Our waiter, Kevin, was very attentive and professional!“

“Walked in and it was hot as balls and the restaurant didn’t even look open. But it was and we ordered and the waitress was honestly so damn sweet and accommodating. They had a shorter vegan menu than we read online but we ordered a vegan cheese calzone and vegan cheesy bread with pesto and marinara both as dips and h o l y c r a p I questioned if it was even vegan they were both so good. Bring a mini fan in with you or just suffer the heat and liminal space vibes. The food is worth it, and the people were great.“

I really love the interior design, the warm atmosphere, the soft music playing in the background at the perfect level. Please visit but do not miss out on their house salad with an exceptional dressing (which is also bottled for purchase) and the lasagna! The pecan crusted catfish is also a guaranteed hit.“

“On our first visit in Marrero, Jasmine was our waitress. My husband has to have limitations with his food choices. No problem, Jasmine helped with suggestions and the cook prepared it perfectly. Now on my 2nd visit, Jasmine not only remembered me but asked where was my husband. She not only remembered us but what we ate. As I dined alone, she went out of her way to make me feel comfortable! And then as I placed a take-out order for my husband, she had suggestions due to his salt restrictions in his diet. What a memory! In my life, I have NEVER met anyone with such a remarkable memory - and she is so kind and helpful. We will be regulars now. Jasmine - here we come. Thank you for helping us so much!!!
