“We stopped by to pick up takeout and were pleasantly surprised to find that the restaurant was open in the upstairs space above its usual cellar space. The host explained that due to a problem with the air conditioning in the downstairs space, about a month ago Heng Thai had moved their operations upstairs, but they might reopen the downstairs when students returned for the fall semester since the restaurant gets so busy. The upstairs is called Mahaheng and the downstairs is called Heng Thai, but for now, they seem to be a single restaurant. The upstairs space provides a nicer atmosphere and is a welcome change!

The food here is still consistently excellent. We ordered Pad C-U and pineapple fried rice, both with extra chicken. Adding extra chicken to the noodle dishes here makes the protein-carb-fat ratio just right for our tastes. Highly recommend this restaurant!“
