“The Bull Run has been a known quantity to me since childhood.. I grew up in Shirley. So when it came time to memorialize my Dad who had passed, I did so in Shirley and got the Bull Run to cater it. Start to finish they were awesome.. advising how to estimate the amount of people and how much food to put out, what kind of food, all the trappings of tablecloth, cutlery etc.. all taken care of. I knew I was going to be distracted in a million different directions, from set up to clean up, the Bull Run people took care of it. We had more than enough very tasty well prepared and presented food and I could devote time to my family and friends. Thank you Bull Run for a beautiful event start to finish.“

“We got married at The Herb Lyceum in November 2025, and it was truly the perfect venue for our wedding. The property is absolutely beautiful — romantic, warm, and full of character — with gardens, historic charm, and such a unique atmosphere that made the entire day feel magical and deeply personal.
What made the experience even more exceptional was the staff. Ariel and Elisa were wonderful to work with throughout the planning process and wedding weekend itself: organized, responsive, calming, and genuinely invested in making the day seamless. Our guests still talk about how beautiful the venue was and the TASTY FOOD . If you’re looking for a venue that feels intimate, curated, and unforgettable, The Herb Lyceum is incredibly special.“

“This is an experience that can't be beat. Both the luncheon and surroundings are top drawer given what we encountered at our recent visit. Outstanding food and service in every way imaginable. This is a destination that should be on everyone's list. Hint: If Jaegerschnitzel is on the menu, order it... Best of its kind. (The Creme Brule Cheese Cake and Citrus Olive Oil Cake - if you can tolerate the caloric load - are beyond worthy... oh, my!)“

“My colleagues and I visited this establishment directly following our performance at GrotonFest, which was held nearby. The staff was very courteous and obliging. Lauren, our server, was particularly pleasant. We shared some lighthearted conversation, and our food was served promptly. The meal was substantial, the staff was friendly, and the view was extraordinary. The Rusty Randoms highly recommend Forge and Vine!“

“Had the Cesar salad, it was pretty good (a little overdressed for my taste). The service was very slow considering we were only 2 of 4 people at the bar. Overall not a bad place if you don't feel like going out, but if you have another option, I would probably pick it.“

“If you come to Bailey’s and don’t order Chef Paul’s Meat Loaf, you are doing it WRONG. I have never had a meal so mind blowing, so comforting so… scrumptious. When Chef Paul’s meatloaf is placed in front of you, you’ll finally know the feeling of “love at first sight”. The first bites will give you butterflies, and with each bite you’ll fall more and more in love until, after you’ve savored each and every bite, you will feel as if you were in Chef Paul’s warm embrace. My thanks to the staff at baileys for such a wonderful meal. In fact, not a day has gone by since the day I first tasted Chef Pauls Meatloaf where the loaf has not crossed my mind. For what drives a man to create such a masterpiece, such a; beautiful symphony of flavor and texture. Only obsession can create such a meal. Perhaps the recipe stems from a form of escapism. Did something trouble Chef Paul has a child? Some inescapable trauma? Was the only way out the loaf ? Whatever the case, there is no amount of suffering that is not worth the creation of Chef Pauls Meatloaf. I sincerely thank Chef Paul for his dedication and his drive as well as his commitment to great cooking. Sir you have truly changed my life. Thank you Chef Paul“

“We got the steak tip and the kids fried haddock.. Yummy yummy yummy. Our waitress was fantastic, and the food was delicious. One of our best eats. I highly recommend trying this place out a few times over. Fast service on a Sunday afternoon. We will be back

“The 3 for me deal is awesome.Started off with wings with hot sauce which were perfectly cooked and salsa and chips. We got 6oz sirloin steaks cooked to perfection, awesome loaded potatoes and broccoli which were plentiful and the Cesar salad and clam chowder were great. Had the cheese cake for dessert and it was a large delicious slice with strawberry preserve jam sauce. The place was busy but our waitress was very friendly, attentive and helpful.“
