“I really enjoy eating here. I play a lot of golf at the course it's on (Cold Springs Country Club) and it's a great place to eat after a round. There is a good (local) beer selection, and the food is good. I recommend the rattlesnake pasta! Only thing that makes the atmosphere a 4 is sometimes the band playing is too loud inside. Not a big deal though and won't make me eat here any less. Definitely check it out!“

“My husband and I visited for the first time recently. We sat at the bar, where the bartender was very friendly and efficient. My husband had the half rack of baby back ribs and I had the chicken Marsala. The meals came with fresh green salads and delicious warm rolls, accompanied by butter and olive oil/red wine vinegar/seasoning. The food was very good and the portions were extremely generous. I got two lunches out of my leftovers! The prices are very reasonable. It is a friendly, local establishment and we chatted with some nice folks at the bar. Very relaxing, home town feel with friendly staff.“

“Wonderful ambience, great staff, surprisingly reasonable prices for the experience. Cocktails are next level; great selection of craft beers. I rarely go out to eat these days because things are so expensive & simultaneously mediocre/subpar in the post-COVID restaurant industry all over rural and semirural New England. This is hands-down the best ROI I’ve found in all of the Northeast, outside of Boston & NYC; stopped in by accident when Iya Sushi was unexpectedly closed. Just a beautiful place with decent portions of outstanding deliciousness at a sane price & a seemingly cool crew working there.Whoever manage/design this place know what they’re doing & offer a remarkable old school experience that middle class people don’t often get in 2024. ?“

“While I may have a bias as a six year server at the Steaming Tender, I am truly blessed to be a part of our team. My fellow servers are genuinely friendly and eager to learn, each bringing their authentic personality and sense of professionalism to the table. Our bartenders mix and match with the best of them, whether you fancy one of our rotating local draft beers, a seasonally curated cocktail, or a classic mocktail for those lighter days, they'll prepare you a beverage that will hit the spot with finesse, know-how, and a great conversation. Our chefs are some of the hardest working people I know, consistently innovating and executing a complex array of well-crafted dishes. They can have a seemingly endless amount of orders coming into their kitchen and still put their hearts and souls into every diner's plate. And the best part is, our dishwashers work seamlessly behind the scenes, ensuring you needn't worry about a thing. Steaming Tender is fully family owned and operated and it shows. Our management values input, seeks new ways to expand and improve, and strive to create a positive work environment. Lastly, but certainly not least, the preservation of this historical landmark of Palmer keeps our rich American history alive. I truly believe H.H. Richardson and Frederick Law Olmsted would be proud. If you appreciate delicious food, delightful service, and a deep dive into local history I encourage you to choo-choo-choose the Steaming Tender.Vegetarian options: Seasonal salads, secret garden veggie burger, basil pomodoroDietary restrictions: Vegan options, gluten free options. Accommodating kitchen.Kid-friendliness: Kids will love watching the trains go by, the birthday song, and sitting in the shoe shine station. The patio in the summer time is always a wow moment as well. Be sure to check out the grounds filled with antique stagecoach, train memorabilia, and genuine 1915 Porter Locomotive.Wheelchair accessibility: Sloped area in the curbing next to the red dining car, beside handicap parking.“

“I LOVE El Comalito!! They have a huge menu, so there is definitely something for everyone. They even have chicken fingers and fries for people who might not like El Salvadoran food. It's so cute and colorful inside, with plenty of seating and a full bar. I always get pupusas when I come because they make them fresh, and I love the spicy pickled cabbage it comes with. The pupusas take about 20 minutes to make, but even then everything came out pretty quickly. The margaritas are so good and come in so many flavors! I got the passion fruit this time but I've also had the pineapple and hibiscus in the past. They recently added sopes to their menu so I had to try them. I got the veggie version which was absolutely loaded up! Mushrooms, peppers, onions, broccoli, lettuce, cheese. My only tiny complaint is that I wish the broccoli was cut into smaller pieces so it is easier to get a bite with a little of everything. I would definitely come back and I highly recommend checking this place out!“

“The Lighthouse used to be a solid if unspectacular dark bar. The addition of three golf simulators has added a new wrinkle. The simulators are very good. I believe they are the Trackman brand. The service can be slow. During the week they usually only have a single bartender. The food is just bar food, items that be heated up in a microwave. It’s a decent spot and they also have a pool table or two. Customers are friendly and it’s a decent spot.Parking: Parking is very limited in the lot but on street is available.“

“It's a fun little establishment to hang out on the outdoor patio with friends on a Friday after work. They have live music, but left before the musicians started.Ordered a couple of apps - fried pickles and bourbon wings. Apps were served fast, fresh and hot. Robust portions are great for sharing.Bartender was the only one on site - she juggled inside and outside quite nicely. Checking in frequently on her customers.“

“Killer wings! We are definitely wing “snobs” and these are the best local wings in the area . Meaty , sauced and cooked perfectly and had that crispy exterior that makes wings go from good to great . Friendly bartender suggested the wings and who also made a great expresso martini ! We will be back. A little bit upset we haven’t been here for wings previously because we only live 10 mins away . That’s about to change!“
“Amazing place! Vibes are great, new Karaoke djs are awesome (dj grizz and dj brando from short rides entertainment) they even played a little bit after and accomidated to the kareokeians! There is 2 pool tables, Cornhole, beer pong. Wish they had darts tho, otherwise it's a great place and they also have food! Didn't get any so I'm not sure how good it is but I have a feeling it will be delicious! Will 100% be back!“

“What an incredible hole-in-the-wall pub. I was at a conference at UMass and was recommended to visit here for an eclectic selection of beers from around the world. So glad I took their suggestion! Soooo many delicious choices, from light to boozy. If you're daring, join the Mug Club.Parking: Small number of spots adjacent to the building“

“Not going to lie, as a kid who grew up in Ludlow, this is a place I would never have gone to. Now as an adult, we went to a party and weren't ready to go home, so stopped here for a drink. It was very clean, good prices and everyone was very friendly. We had a good time and would go back again.“
“Went to play pool on our bdays with daughter n son in law. There were alot of people there but not uncomfortably overcrowded. The age range was vast, from young to old. We did not have to wait at all for a table to play on. There was a DJ that play a wide variety of music that kept everyone happy. Staff was friendly and fast. There was no waiting at bar for a drink“

“I get take out here all the time, and dine in often. Consistency of the coatings of wing flavor on the wing is not great, but never had to send it back to the kitchen. Sometimes there's barely any on, but other times it's almost too much. ALL Amherst Brewing beers are good. I think I've tried them all, except one or two.“
