I truly enjoyed the service and the meal I had here. We live near this restaurant but never visited. We always noticed a line here. As a former Rhode Island resident- we have a few banh mi locations - more Thai than Vietnamese but good all together. The banh mi here? Incomparable. The depth of flavor and texture and freshness of the ingredients is unmatched. The portions are very filling and the drinks made in house? So yummy. Based on the reviews, Bánh Mì Ba Lẹ & Bakery is a great spot with excellent sandwiches. It is considered the best ban mi in Boston, possibly in Massachusetts. The personal favorites are #1, dac biet, and #2, bbq pork. The BBQ beef banh mi is a classic, with divine meat quality and garnishes galore. The beef bon mi with a mango smoothie is also highly recommended, and the avocado smooth is enjoyable. There is a good variety of Vietnamese ready to eat food, breads, pastries, and grocery items for take out. The iced coffee is a favorite, and the Vietnamese coffee is strong but sweet. The service is always fast and fresh, with an efficient assembly line. The prices are cheap, and the quality and freshness cannot be found anywhere else. There is limited indoor seating with about 6 to 8 chairs and 3 low tables, but the ban mis travel well, so it is best to grab and go. It can be crowded with long lines, but it is worth the wait.
