“We enjoyed dining here. It's a cozy spot, and we almost had the place to ourselves. We sat down at a table and chairs that were lower to the ground, with what resembled a colorful inverted woven basket atop the table. The waitress took this off when the food arrived. Started with lentil sambosas, which were quite tasty. Buttery flaky exterior and nicely cooked (not mushy) lentils inside. It seemed that the combo was the way to go, based on previous reviews we had read. We got beef and chicken. I was partial to the chicken, which had a flavorful and tangy sauce, with a kind of molé consistency. I was happy with the array of veggies we got too. Keep in mind this was all served atop injeera bread, a kind of spongy, very thin, bread great for scooping up sauces. We had to order extra injeera to finish all our scooping. I think we were both partial to the lentil, although I remember enjoying all the vegetable sides. It was a nice array of textures- some mashed, and some whole. We also got to see an interesting coffee preparation, with smoking coffee beans. The coffee must be excellent.“
“Amazing as always! The honey wine was stronger, more dry, and less sweet this time but still delicious. The Begeeh Mloukhiya was seasoned well and very spicy and flavorful. The Zighny Fitfit was pretty unique with sauce soaked injera and beef pieces. The timtimo went perfectly with the meals and salad.“
“Don't let the outside stop you. It's a strip mall place that is great! We were too hungry to remember to take pictures! Staff were super nice and attentive, but it was a slow weeknight, so YMMV. We had ayeb appetizer and the non vegetarian for 2 with kitfo. Lots of kitfo! Everything was tasty, spicy, as in extremely flavorful, but not too much burn.I think 1 more injera would have been good, but we were full.We have to revisit other area Ethiopian places before confirming the crown, but for me they are in the top 2. Best raw kitfo for sure.“
“The Ethiopian food here is excellent and pretty authentic from the other options around!I really love this restaurant but the only concerns are the poor service at times and small portions for the price.More often than not, service is slow and multiple times it has taken over 30-35 minutes to have the smaller dishes and drinks touching the table. But sometimes their service is excellent if the male employee/worker is the server.All in all, this establishment can be described as a real taste of Ethiopia! 4.2/5 stars!“
“This place is amazing!! So glad to have gotten a chance to grab dinner in this cozy spot in Malden. We split the veggie combo + gored gored and everything was so flavorful and delicious. Highly recommend trying the veggie sambusa and spiced tea to start as well. Can't wait to come back again!“
