Had the Jajangmyeon at Somaek and thought the overall flavor was really good. However, the menu states it includes pork and Wagyu beef, but my entire dish only had two extremely small pieces of meat in it, which was pretty disappointing. On the positive side, the staff was incredibly nice and the overall vibe of the place was great. Worth it for the atmosphere and flavor, but they definitely need to be more generous with the proteins.
Found from the NYT top 50 places in Boston. Best restaurant I've been to. I suspect the servers rotate with cooks because everyone was incredibly knowledgable. When they didn't have a ban chan I ordered they gave suggestions and another complimentary ban chan. I ordered 2 gochujang pork entree with the soy beef, anchovy, and kimchi radish ban chan. Fabulous experience. Sincere hospitality from the get go. Our server Lloyd offered great suggestions and just the right amount of food. Dennis even offered us a tour of the restaurant, and the adjacent cocktail lounge and seafood restaurant. Can't wait to come back and bring more folks!
