Lumi Vietnamese Bistro Reviews
Discovery: My family was visiting in town near the mall so I took them for a shopping day and lunch in the South Shore Plaza Mall. When we entered the mall we heard the drums playing and followed them to see the opening (relocation) ceremony Lion Dance for Lumi. While there I saw a friend who absolutely recommended we try it (He was there eating with his family of 4).
Food: After shopping my parents and I dropped in and got our first ever Banh Mi (Vietnamese Sandwiches). ...read full review
Highly highly recommended. Prepare to be enchanted by the symphony of tastes and aromas that unfold with every bite and sip. Their banh mi sandwiches, a harmonious blend of crisp baguette and savory fillings, are a testament to the artistry of Vietnamese cuisine. Paired with their meticulously brewed coffee, the experience becomes an exploration of flavors that lingers long after the last bite. For those seeking an unforgettable adventure of flavors, look no further than this...read full review
Authentic, Flavorful, and just SO good!
The girl at the cashier was extremely friendly. I purchased 2 Traditional (Pork) Banh Mi and 2 Grilled Beef (Teriyaki style). They were delicious. Crispy crust on the bread, a nice spread of pate and butter, plenty of meat, and the pickled daikon and carrots were crunchy and tart. The shops in RI do not put any effort into their pickled carrots. I no longer have to drive into Dorchester from RI to get banh mi!!

Lumi Vietnamese Bistro is a highly recommended restaurant, known for its delicious Banh Mi and convenient location within a mall. The house mayo and pate, made in-house, are described as heavenly and add great flavor and texture to the Banh Mi. The baguette is crusty yet soft, and the bo kho beef stew features exceptionally tender meat. Vegetarian options include a tofu Banh Mi, but it's noted that the house mayo may not be vegetarian. The restaurant's Banh Mi is praised for being tasty, light, and fresh, with the squeeze drip and butter pate mix spilling out perfectly. Customers also enjoy a variety of drinks, including an iced coffee with condensed milk, sunset seltzer, and plum soda, which are often refreshing and tasty. The che dessert is considered good, though some suggest that a bit less shaved ice and more jelly or coconut milk would improve it. The restaurant is located in the back corner of the mall, with friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere. Overall, Lumi Vietnamese Bistro offers flavorful food and a pleasant experience, making it a favorite spot for many visitors.
