“This was my six-year-old’s choice for his birthday dinner! We used to frequent the South End location and since that one closed, we got delivery from Brookline. He wanted to write a review. His review is ‘they are the best cookers in the world.’ He also wants to give the meal seven stars. The food was great as usual! My go-to is the pabellon criollo, delicious and filling! Will have to come by and dine in soon.“

“My family and I were in town visiting. We stopped here to get some food before heading home. While the wait was long, the food was so worth it. Not only was the hostess so accommodating and friendly, but the portions were huge and delicious! Between the 6 plates, we ordered Chicken, fried turkey and the fried pork(griot) which were all cooked to perfection! 10/10 would highly recommend! We’ll absolutely be back whenever we’re in the area again.“

“Went here for the first time last night on a friends recommendation. Never tried Venezuelan food before but WOW we were absolutely blown away by the beef arepas and the mojitos . So delicious! We came on a Saturday and were seated immediately, and the food came out fast. Definitely coming back!“

“Aunt Vie’s Restaurant & Bakery does not disappoint! The Mac & cheese, rice and peas are my favorite sides. The oxtail is delicious. The baked goods especially the carrot cake - sooo good!! “i will definitely be visiting The D Coal Pot again very soon. The food is fresh taste great and really good. I was driving and came upon this restaurant i didn't plan on going to this restaurant but I said to self stop and get a few Patties and wouldn't you know they had no Patties. I left the restaurant with Corn Soup Peas & Rice Chicken Roti Beef Roti. I also got to try a dessert I've never had before I don’t know the name of it but had Guava Sweet Potato Coconut and other things to make this dessert which was really good so I ordered 2 to go. D Coal Pot is definitely a place you must visit and get a meal.“

“We like to have an early dinner here before seeing a play next door at Central Square Theater. Some nights it is a bit noisy, but this time it was quiet; and the staff was very attentive, as always. I had the pork belly mofongo--delicious, but more mofongo than I can eat--it was great! So was our shared appetizer of avocado tostones.“

“Great experience at a event for a family. Chester, the owner, did from soup to nuts. Decorating was on point very festive but so tasteful, getting the DJ Larry who was awesome, and providing the meal. The staff was very engaging without being intrusive and pleasant. The food was so good and plentiful. No one left empty handed unless they wanted to. The only downside was the parking and everyone found parking even if it was a little walk to the venue. This place is a must for good vibes and great food.“

Let me tell you! I was driving by and it caught my eye. So I decided to turn back around and check it out! I was lucky to meet the owner , Jabreel (I think that’s how you spell it). He was out of rice that day so we just got jerk chicken and jerk wings with sweet plaintains and mango salad. He told us to make sure we comeback and let me tell you, MY MAN AN I WILL BE BACK! The food was so good I couldn’t believe it! Highly recommend service and food was 10/10.“

“My favorite thing about Codman Square! The roti is delicious, all the cooks are so friendly, the music is great, Wu is everybody's favorite guy, service is fast, and the spice cake is in my top ten desserts ever. On top of all that, the veggie roti and doubles are vegan!“

I was on a side quest to source dried Haitian mushrooms for my good friend. I wasn't expecting hot prepared foods there but it was lunch time. After that I was ready for a nap.“

“The meat and the rice were bone free, well seasoned, and delicious!!! A little dry, but I was doing a “too good to go” bag at the end of the day, so that’s okay.

Parking is tricky, because there is one entrance and one exit and they are not obvious, so be aware and careful when pulling in (especially if you’re crossing multiple lanes of traffic to do it), but there is free parking.

Also, lots of black ice right now in the lot, which is not the businesses fault, as I’m from of them it’s fine, but just be careful!!!“

“My family discovered the TapTap by chance, when my teen’s phone quit working during an outing and he needed to call home for help. The proprieters very kindly allowed him to use their phone, and while he waited for pick-up, he ordered some food. We ended up enjoying a delicious and generous rice bowl and beef and chicken pasties. So flavorful!! We are so glad to have found this fantastic gem, and plan to return for more!“

“Get the jerk chicken. It’s delicious. I was on my long run and stopped here as a mid run food break, rest stop. The jerk chicken and rice was amazing. I will definitely be back next week for more food haha. This place was packed too! So busy. I knew it had to be good.“

“Food is delicious however the woman that was working there was insanely rude. I told her I had an order for pick up she replied while not looking at me or asking my name “it’s not ready yet”. Then when it was ready, she just tapped the paper bag my order was in and looked at me to indicate that it was ready. I decided to dine in and so I went to the register to ask for utensils and she told me rudely, “can you come and ask here” to where she was working then shook her head just because I was asking for utensils. Very unfortunate since the food is delicious but won’t be coming back because of the service.“

“Went in to satisfy the kid’s ice cream craving. We were pleasantly surprised at all the flavor choices! Walked home after sharing a scoop of oreo and cookie dough (sort of sharing, the boy can be a bit stingy when the food is good...) and with a meal each: jerk chicken and stew beef. We each had a filling dinner last night AND lunch today. Thanks! Looking forward to trying ALL the ice cream flavors :)“
