“Tonight, we spontaneously explored Ella’s Wood Fired Kitchen in Wareham, and I'm thrilled we did. Despite having no reservation, we were promptly seated in a cozy corner near the bar. Our server quickly attended to us, delivering refreshing waters and delightful traditional mules. The highlight was the special pomegranate margarita with reposado and pomegranate simple syrup – truly amazing. For starters, we indulged in fried pork ribs, a Caesar salad with exceptional homemade croutons that had a cheese filling and focaccia with garlic Parmesan oil dip. The generous slices of focaccia were a personal favorite and very easy to pull apart. Moving on to the main course, we savored Chicken Parm, TAGLIATELLE bolognese, the house special surf & turf with scallops, and the WOOD GRILLED NY STRIP OR 6 OZ. FILET MIGNON with smashed fingerlings, roasted onion, shishito peppers, horseradish crema, and chimichurri. The in-house-made pasta added a delightful touch, and the rave reviews for the special surf and turf almost led to a second helping. Unable to resist, we took home pizzas – margarita, three cheese pepperoni, and sausage ricotta. For dessert, we all enjoyed a pistachio toffee cake in a mason jar with pistachio gelato and dulce de leche sauce. The entire meal was a delight, and our server's kindness and excellent recommendations enhanced the experience. We're eagerly looking forward to returning, perhaps opting for seats at the bar next time. I’m sure their other dishes are amazing. Their pizza is certainly delicious. I will say that I had an experience tonight with an unfamiliar delivery driver. I guess he knocked on my door several times before I finally heard him and when I opened the door to greet him he was seemingly agitated. I apologized for not having heard him as I was tending to my kids and he then plainly said “40 bucks”. I handed him the money, already knowing what it costed from prior orders- he rounded up, I digress. As I was shutting the door I heard him say “wow, that’s it?”

I was going to say something but chose to just let it go. Charlie’s is literally a two minute drive to where I live. I understand it’s the holidays however a lot of us are struggling financially and don’t necessarily have the means to be tipping big on a delivery (that was two minutes up the road). I just found it very inappropriate to make a remark like that quite loudly where he knew my door was still open. Like dude I’m just trying to feed my kids while I have some sort of stomach virus.

I did give a call in to let management know, call me a Karen, I don’t care. They were very apologetic and I appreciated that, I knew it wasn’t their fault and I usually would have just let it go but to be that bold about it was uncalled for.“

And the subs were pretty good. If your trying the vegan pizza be sure it’s made with some sauce n cheeses . Ours didn’t have it :( and to be fair try a different kind .“

“they're horrible at taking orders , in the past 5 months not sure if new owner new cooks, or just the lack of training but the food it trash ! I used to love this place but either they mess up on the pizza it's cardboard box nasty flat and the subs are so filled with meat ( turkey) it's falling out the sides breaking the whole roll itself barely any lettuce or pickles! last time I got a turkey sub the bread was hard as a rock and it had barley any turkey meat , what is going on with this place !?! they're rude when you order and it's a pickup waste of my gas for sure and money I won't be ordering again this place went room 5 star to zero lost a great customer get your crap together honestly why are you packing rhe sub with one much meat for it to just fall out that's such a lack of effort horrible service and they don't ever take accountability EVER!!“
