“Very cool neighborhood spot. My type of spot. I had a chance to stop in while being back home for a bit. I was there early so there was no cover or anything. The music was good. The food was pretty good. Drinks were good and we had excellent service.“
“I don’t know why I hadn’t eaten here until this week! I have heard so many good things. The service was top notch, efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable. All of the food was incredible. The wine options were interesting, and the Armenian red my friend and I had was fabulous. If you haven’t made time to check this place out because it’s out of the way for you, I definitely recommend making the time!“
“You can roll a D20 to get a mystery drink, and the concotuons we got were very good but wild. One was the spiciest drink ive ever had. The food here is fantastic, but the plates are small. The restaurant itself is even smaller, so you'll need a reservation to eat.100% would go again.“
“Some of the best Thai food I have ever had. The fried chives were so good. The curries were so different and delicious. The shrimp and pomelo salad along with the green papaya was tasty. They have a bar opening soon and I can wait to check it out!Vegetarian options: Quite a few options to make things vegetarian or that are vegetarian.“
“SO GOOD !!!!! The food here is to die for ! The service is amazing. Can’t wait to come back here. I came here with my husband and sister in law for my birthday brunch on a Sunday and the server helped us with recommendations. I didn’t even get a picture of the banana bread they recommended because it was so good. The grits are amazing. You have to check this place out.“
“We ordered scallop ceviche, ensalada de remolacha, chuletas de Cordero, puerco asado, ropa vieja, and Santiago sour. The Santiago sour drink, I thought was really good. Not too sour, and it goes well with our dishes. The scallops ceviche was OK. IT wasn't anything special. It was missing something. The beet salad and the lamb chop are a must! The slow braised pork with rice and salad is good, too.We never got our ropa vieja even though we ordered it. When the bill came out, we noticed that we were charged with ropa vieja. We spoke to our waitor and he took off the bill.Service was good. The meals came out fast for the most part until the ropa vieja. My drink came out with a broken piece of glass at the bottom, so it was fine. It wasn't in the drink.Overall, the food was good. It does get busy on the weekend. Good date place. The food prices were reasonable. FYI, there is a kitchen service fee when you get your bill. There are plenty of parking spaces in the back.“
“Went to Viale while on vacation in MA. I found it to be better than the popular Italian restaurants in downtown Boston. The food was incredible. My wife, who is a vegetarian with high food standards, absolutely loved the beat salad, shaved brussel sprouts, and arancini that they served her. The meatballs were delicious. Service was great. The manager met with us and was very friendly and accommodating. This will be our go to spot from now on whenever we visit Boston.Vegetarian options: Some great vegetarian options on the menu, but the manager made it clear that they would also modify any dish to accommodate a vegetarian diet, upon request.“
“We had an absolutely phenomenal dinner here this evening. Our waiter, Robin, was amazing. Highlights for me were the Beef Tataki, the tahini cauliflower, the dandan noodles, and the fried chicken. Great fusion food, great vibe, great views.“
“An incredible Uruguayan restaurant! The menu is delicious and the presentation is incredible. The service is excellent, with so much attention and care. And the restaurant is impeccably decorated and feels so cozy! The owners are so sweet and kind, ensuring that you'll have a wonderful time. A great place for dates, group dinners, catching up with friends, or events. Their drink menu is extensive and full of delicious options. Can't wait to return!“
“Came here last month and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I appreciated how the front of house told us (before seating us) that if we order sushi, it'd take about an hour to prepare the food because they were so busy. Obviously, because it was a Saturday night.Agedashi tofu - As a tofu lover who often orders this dish, I thought it was super yummy and have great flavor & texture. There were four large cubes and came with a lot of garnishes.Nagaimo Teppan - My friends and I were curious about this dish, but it ended up being very different from what we expected. The texture was crumbly and the flavor was not as good as we anticipated. It was an interesting experience but not worth the price for us.Omusoba - SO GOOD. I wish we ordered less so that I had space to eat more of this dish. The flavors were amazing, especially with the seaweed and mayo on top. I loved that there were noodles inside, since I'm an avid noodle enjoyer.Niku Udon - I was craving something soupy, and this dish was exactly what I was looking for. The noodles weren't the typical thick udon noodles, but instead were more flat. The beef was cooked very well and there was just the right amount of it. The flavor was great and the portion was perfect. LOVED this one!Crab Croquette - My first time having this dish and it was above my expectations. It and the same yummy sauce that was on the omusoba and came with a little bit of salad. The croquettes themselves were cooked very well, but were very filling. Would definitely recommend if you like fried food!In terms of service and layout, the place was pretty full when I went, so I had to sit on a long table in the middle of the room, where servers were constantly going back and forth behind me (I didn't mind it). The servers themselves are kind and welcome to the guests, and the food came out pretty quickly. There is a bar as well as an open kitchen were I could see the sushi chef work his craft. There was overall just a great sense of community inside. Unfortunately, because of its location, the restaurant does not have their own bathroom. Instead, we had to leave the restaurant and go around the corner of the "mall" to use the public bathroom. It was fine.In conclusion, I highly recommend going, especially when they aren't busy“
“A very detailed review from someone who has eaten a lot of tapas!Outstanding bartender! I’ve been a bit disappointed lately when I go into high-end cocktail bars, and they don’t have ingredients I need for making my favorite drinks. Not only was this bartender excellent and knowledgeable, but as I was naming my favorite drink, he knew it, and he loved it as well. I ordered off the menu though, and enjoyed the “kitty’s got claws” because I am a big Mezcal fan and it looked interesting. It was beautifully balanced. Then I saw him making what I thought was a corpse reviver, and we talked a bit about that, and I was thrilled that he knew how to make one, so as I watched him making one for somebody else. I ordered it as my second drink. I know I’m supposed to be reviewing the food, and I will get to that, but a quality bartender, who is interesting and fun, and above all… Knowledgeable, is a very big part of an experience that has a full bar. Bravo, to this bartender! I only wish I remembered his name.On to the food. Interesting interpretation of tapas. Especially the cabbage, which was different than any presentation I have had before. A large piece, braised perfectly, with a creamy sauce. Patatas bravas were an interesting take as well. Often they are either too small with a bit of sauce smothered on them or they are too big and only spiced a little bit. These were a great size and they were seasoned, but did not have any sauce on them, which is wonderful. And then there was some romesco sauce (made of tomatoes and roasted red peppers, and usually almonds) on the side; a really great interpretation of this classic Spanish dish. (Note that a typical bravas sauce has smoked paprika and tomato paste) and I really enjoyed the romesco as a nice change. We also had a lamb slider, which was big enough for lunch for one person. So keep that in mind when ordering. It was actually halfway between the size of a slider and a regular burger. Also, the homemade focaccia was very fluffy! The rosemary butter is a good compliment.Atmosphere is cute. Loud and bustling and definitely not the type of place that is quiet and you can hear the forks clinking. Really great vibe. Wonderful neighborhood place. We lived in JP for years and raised our kids here and it was great to come back and see this new (to us!) restaurant in the neighborhood.“
“Party of 4 - we had a 6:30 reservation and were seated promptly. Service was great. Very attentive waiter. All of us enjoyed the apps (eggplant rollatini and brushetta) and entrees. I got the chicken, broccoli and penne in Alfredo sauce and it was so creamy and delicious. Martinis were top notch too - espresso and strawberry lemonade. Highly recommend.“
“Can’t go wrong with the food menu, the garlic bread is my favorite thing to get, the team provides quick service and is very welcoming. Chris, John, Jess, and Jo always seem to have a smile on their face and are very friendly. The atmosphere is great, would have no problem spending a couple hours there!“
“Got no pics for this as everything was too good to stop and snap a pic. But just know, you should go here if you want a slightly more unique dining experience in Boston. Sit at the bar for the full experience, as the bartenders are very helpful/knowledgeable. It's a cocktail bar with amazing drinks but don't sleep on the food. It's the real deal. Salmon crudo was incredible, perfect amount of tartness. Braised lamb parpaldelle was delicious as expected, and the carbonara I believe is one of the best around. Highly recommend this spot.“
“At Barcelona and it has been amazing. I visit the Atlanta location often but they do not have Elizabeth. Found out that the company trained her for a Manager role and I think it was the best decision they could have made. She should write a book on the service industry and how to do it right. I am thankful for the experience and her time at this location. #winebar #goodservice #boston #bostonfoodies #bostonstrong“
“Can't think of a thing on the menu that's not authentic tasting and delicious. If you go definitely order the Moussaka. It comes in a baked dish, the custard like flavor and spices used are so delicious. Also just the basic Greek potatoes are very good with a little bit of a lemon taste. Chicken any way they cook it is also good.Vegetarian options: The Mediterranean salad is excellent. Also you can order things like the Greek potatoes, spanikopita and baklava.“
“I've been coming to Dali with my boyfriend off and on for a few years now. His parents showed us the place (they're been coming here for 20+ years) and I promise it just gets better and better. The tapas, the drinks, the atmosphere and service, is all 10/10! My favorite, the bartender Julio, truly welcomes you into this space and treats you like family. He recommends great dishes and drinks, makes you laugh, and goes out of his way to give you the best dining experience. As always we will be coming back! If you're thinking of coming here, don't hesitate (and sit at the bar when Julio is working!!)“
“The restaurant was really nice, we didn't have to wait to be seated. The waitstaffs were very nice and helpful when ordering from the menu. Every dish we ordered were really delicious. I personally love the Grilled Octopus, Calamari and red beet salad, the drinks were divine ?. I think is a neighborhood gem . Definitely will come back.“
“the staff is nice, and their food and drinks are good I like their portions, small but perfect for sharing and also tried a few different dishes, kind of tapas style, wich I loved tapas style restaurant, also their Asian American fusion is nice and quite “
“Great food, great service, and a fun atmosphere. We came with our 3 year old and while there weren't any other kids there, we felt right at home. Servers were very nice, and the drinks were tasty. Fun decor too! Worth supporting this place!Vegetarian options: Vegetable paella was deliciousKid-friendliness: Very welcoming to us with our 3 year old daughter!“
“We came for Dine Out Boston so we got to try a number of different dishes as well as their white wine by the bottle! Everything was so delicious and the service was really great. Can’t wait to return sometime soon!Dietary restrictions: I am severely allergic to peanuts and I could have everything on the menu without an issue!“
“Made a dinner reservation and had a wonderful experience here. Despite the small table and somewhat cramped interior the food was excellent! Fried chicken thighs were some of the best we’ve ever had. The roasted carrot salad was cold and delightful! What a surprise. Shrimp and grits were also so flavorful. Cocktails were also on point. Just about every plate was a joy and we will definitely be back!!“
“Was here with a friends for a bday dinner. It was absolutely delicious from drinks to mains and to dessert. We had their private room and it was so great to make all the noise in there. Totally recommend everything but our favorites was the croquettes, patatas bravas, shrimp in garlic and the salad. But totally do the omakase pre doze meal they have. Let them do all the thinking. Sit back and drink and stuff your face. Can't wait to go back. Service was phenomenal too!!“
“Went during Reastaurant week so went looking for the specials ..the waiter explained it didn’t make any sense because there was additional pricing for some of the items which defeats the Reastaurant week deal so I got the bootleg special for two and it was pretty good came out looking and smelling delicious and it was a good portion seeing how you get a whole lobster also got the shooter special but it was a little confusing because I thought you were getting 4 different flavored shots when it was just multiple flavors in that one shooter but I may go maybe one more time to try something else for another review just don’t go during reastaurant week unless they change the prices items“
“I recently stumbled into Pagu on a particularly rainy day in Boston (you know, one of those sideway rainstorm days). Covered in mud, I snagged one of the last bar seats available. Opting for my usuals - roasted mushrooms and ramen - I paired them with a glass of wine and a good book, enjoying the restaurant's laid-back atmosphere. To my surprise, Chef/Owner Tracy Chang had hand delivered my dinner! Her radiant smile alone was enough to brighten up an otherwise atrocious day for me. Chang's innovative approach to dining shines through in every dish, prioritizing creativity and kindness - a sentiment echoed by the attentive staff at Pagu. It's no wonder that Pagu remains a cornerstone of Central Square.“
“Edwin is an amazing server with great attention to detail. Was very knowledgeable on drink recommendations and knew when to come by and check in on us by gauging the vibes. The staff overall seemed really supportive of one another and felt like a well-oiled machine. The food was phenomenal. I highly recommend the arancini and the shrimp parmigiana. SO GOOD.11/10 would visit again. ?“
“A nice spot for date night in Woburn! Came here Saturday 8pm and we were seated right away. The decorations were very cozy, and I really enjoyed the jazzy acoustic music they were playing in the background. We got 6 dishes, but our favorites were the Chuletas De Cordero (grilled lamb chops with mint yogurt and Tximitxurri), Pisto Manchego (ratatouille), and Solomillo De Ternera y Queso Cabrales (beef tenderloin with blue cheese, caramelized onions, toasted crostini). The grilled lamb chops were wonderful but I personally wasn't a fan of the dill sauce so I'd eat it without it. The ratatouille is a must, strong tomato flavor with a wonton style chip. And the beef steak/tenderloin comes with blue cheese and onions on a small flank of bread.“
“Taberna de Haro always presents the best of authentic Spanish cuisine and wine with love and customer engagement. I am glad that the new owner will continue the tradition and that founder Deborah Hansen will continue to curate the superlative wine list!“
“Visiting Boston and came as here was recommended by local. It’s a great place to visit. Food is great, had the best bone marrow, and the foie gras is definitely recommendable. service is busy but good, atmosphere is great. The only thing is it was freezing and we both got sick. The backyard outdoor patio is still freezing though there are Mr heaters near the wall outlets. The heat wasn’t strong enough at all to cover the area. Would only go again if got in door seating in winter.“
“These are some of the nicest cocktails I have ever had, absolutely recommend the Mezcal. Get the pulpo and the plantains for a starter- they are out of this world. All flavors are insanely fresh, this place radiated high quality. Just go, you won’t regret anything you get.“
“This place is amazing! They serve some of the best food, they're super helpful and friendly, and it's in a great location. We tried Valdosta Famous Bolognese, Vegetable Tower, and Chicken Dijonnaise, and we absolutely loved everything. I'm totally gonna recommend this place! ??“
“The food was great, the staff was friendly (but one staff person was taking my photo without asking. The ambiance was good. The service was really, really slow , it took us two hours in total to eat & leave & it was due to the service.“
“Moved to the area a few months ago and Tasca has become a regular favorite! Each dish has been delicious, every server has been kind and attentive, and the drinks are also great. They are only open in the evenings which provides a nice atmosphere as well. Overall well worth it!“
“The food was amazing. We couldn’t stop ordering more plates. The scallop appetizer was so refreshing and delicious! They also have a shrimp weekend special that was just packed full of flavor. My husband had the Birria taco dish and I had to fight him to a bite. The mezcal drinks were also done very well, we loved it. Before we left, the owner gave us two shots on the house because she knew we were from out of town. This was such a great dining experience, highly recommend!!“
“Hearty, filling, delicious New Orleans-style grub. Been here a few times, mostly for brunch. The classic biscuits are amazing - they come with both pimento cheese spread & cinnamon butter. The biscuits & gravy are great, too. Additional standouts are the cast iron baked Brie, the beignets, the wagyu burger sliders, pancakes, french toast, and low country scramble (spicy). If you’re into mimosas, they do a “soft serve mimosa” which is Prosecco paired with their daily sorbet, served in a delightful swirl. You’ll have to go back more than once if you want the room in your stomach to sample all of these dishes!!Service has been great every time. Over the last 1.5 years, have noticed a good amount of the same staff, which is always encouraging.“
“I went here for the Saturday hot chocolate experience. It was very confusing and disorganized to figure out how to get seated. We were waiting in a cluster/line but there was no host to facilitate the seating. I think it was self seating? And then the service was very very slow. The interior was gorgeous and the hot coco was cute and fun. I think if they were more well staffed this experience would have been better.“
“This is a small place Very well made drinks Food is fresh and taste is delicious The staff was full of smiles The decorative bathroom is awesome I hope they grow and get a bigger location because they will need the space Good luck to this restaurant“
“Little Donkey is an absolute gem. We were there for first seating at 10:30 am on a Sunday. Glad we had a reservation since they were very busy and tables we blocked off by 11:20. Our dishes were delicious and came out pretty quickly. Someone at our table had a nut allergy and every dish was brought out with a clearance of the allergy so that incase she wanted to try other dishes, she knew what was safe. The salmon and Tuna Tartar is delicious, but unbelievably small and honestly not worth the $19. We ordered it to hold us over while waiting for friends who were running behind. It is bare 4 actual bites. We learned from our waiter that most of the items we initially wanted were tiny. This is a really cute spot with an open kitchen which is cool to look into, and the bar tender is great at creating new drink concoctions.“
“We had a good time here. They have interesting choice of foods and nice atmosphere. Perfect for a date night and gathering up with friends. The piano bar is awesome. Its so chill. Would recommend the exalted one and rosemary baby for drinks. Be back soon.“
“The cocktail menu had some very interesting selections! We got the vegetable tower, gnocchi and scallops. Service was great and the food very well done. We found this as we were staying overnight close to BOS for an early morning flight. The bartender was very genuine and took care to make an amazing cocktail!“
“Almost perfect. Really cute lil spot in Southie. Can’t seem to decide if they want to commit to being upscale or not. Certainly priced at the higher range. The food and cocktails (mostly) live up to the price, but feels like service and decor don’t quite match up. Would love it if Petula’s was a bit more affordable to make it a regular go-to spot, but for now it remains a worthwhile indulgence.Vegetarian options: Great for pescatarian. Veggie options, but not a lot well balanced with protein.“
“Savinos is a local gem. I've been here for celebratory dinners in the past, both pre- and during the pandemic, and everything has been delicious with great service in a classy (if a bit dated) atmosphere. Lately I've been enjoying their lunch, which is a great price (entrees around $15) for high quality meals that satisfy more than your typical sandwich of the same price in the area. I have a number of dietary restrictions (mostly gluten and dairy free), and they've been able to accommodate them while not compromising on quality. The grilled salmon is one meal I would get again and again. It comes with a refreshing salad alongside a red potato salad that's very lightly dressed with mayonnaise, just what I prefer. The steak is another good option for gluten and dairy free folks. It's easy to substitute items with more veggies. While I've enjoyed just about everything I've had there, sometimes they add a bit too much finishing oils, making some dishes too oily. My mom, who is a particular eater, loves the flatbread (toppings are a rotating special). She found the pasta bolognese to be a bit one note, though, with not much other ingredients. They don't have gf/df desserts, but I couldn't resist taking a bite of my mom's crème caramel. It is deliciously creamy! Reminds me of desserts in Paris when I could eat whatever I wanted. There's street parking and some outdoor seating for warmer months. If you do want to come for lunch, be sure to make a reservation on their website -- I think they still require them. We've also called them to get takeout, which has been super easy. Still, I prefer going in person to have a slice of elegant calm.“
“The food is over-the-top good. I love the menu very eclectic, I enjoy they have small plates as well as large plates. Like the place so much and taking my wife there for our anniversary tonight. Highly recommend the pasta. Don't think there's anything that you can order that you won't love.“
“Our bartender and waitresses kept the drinks and food coming....I asked my bartender for a "surprise" beverage, seeing that I was indecisive to what spirits my pallet wanted to entertain this evening.Soon, my bartender came back with a Moscow mule - the first one definitely took the edge off, the second one, well.....let's say I felt like I was ready to compete in any salsa ??dance competition after taking an hours worth of their newly promoted salsa class. The food and the appetizer were filling, so my friend and I were happy to work off those calories by joining the establishments' very first ever salsa class. We were very excited to be a part of this feature event and hope they will permanently add salsa classes to the mix!“
“Absolutely loved this place! It's way more exciting than your usual dinner spot. Ideal for groups of four or more to indulge in a variety of tapas. My friends and I had a blast, ordering multiple rounds of tapas as they come out relatively fast. The atmosphere was perfect for conversation and sharing. Every dish we tried was incredibly delicious, leaving us with nothing but empty plates. Can't wait to return for another memorable experience!“
“I gave a meh review the last time I was here so I thought it would be fair to give a good review this time. I don’t know if they have improved or if it was a matter of the items we picked, but there was a significant difference between the two visits. This time we got the Albondigas, Queso de Cabra, Bruselas a la Sidra, Montadito de Jamon, Costillas de Cordero, and the Dátiles and everything was delicious. The prices are still a bit high, but it is usually with tapas, so with the live music and much better food, it was worth it. Well done T’ahpas!“
“An unexpected delight, this hole-in-the-wall had a varied menu (tapas, appetizers, main courses, full bar). I had the Pulpo which was delicious. My granddaughter has chicken fingers, which is usually not crunchy in most places, but this was crispy and tasty, including the fries. We drove 15 miles to attend a concert at the nearby Auditorium, but now we would return just for another dinner. The service was excellent and friendly.“
“Came here to celebrate a birthday dinner and it was quite fantastic. First of all our server was absolutely wonderful. The food was also equally delicious. He gave us great recommendations on what to try and what would pair well with what we had ordered. My wife is vegetarian so he was even able to give us the veggie options that weren't on menu. The meatballs are extremely good and the citrus salad was so yummy. The pizza was light and crispy. The location itself is small but very cozy. A good cocktail and wine list as well. I would highly recommend this place for food!“
“You should get the Calamari it is splendid. I have only got the appetizers so far and it is so delicious every bite I take. The Chicken Milanese was scrumptious if was so moist yet crispy. The Lebanese Skewered shrimp this plate was presented beautifully it was fresh, yet the shrimp had a nice bite to it. I would give it a 10/10 rating. The short ribs were melt in your mouth, and definitely a must try they also came with roasted carrots and potatoes on the side. The bolognese were meaty and hardy, and would recommend. I loved the cheesecake if was mouthwatering so good. My dad was drinking the expresso martini and he said it was rich yet opulent. I would totally recommend this restaurant it was very special. Make sure you ask for Aiyana she was so funny and a joy, and she even laughed at my dads corny jokes.Kid-friendliness: There were kids menus. There were so good options For non-alcoholic drinks such as lemonade and iced tea, and there were less soda drinks.Wheelchair accessibility: There were no stairs at the front so it was easier for people in a wheelchair to get in.“
“There was a very soulful and fine guitar player filling the attractive, open space with with the songs of Central and South America. A warmth and feeling of community abounded. The food was great and i'd never had grasshopper tacos before!“
