“Ate here on a busy night after the st paddy’s parade. Great beer list (sip of sunshine/maine lunch on draft!) and quality food. Our server was so pleasant - would go back again and bring the kids as there’s some arcade games in the back.“

“The first day open for the spring season. I would have not known if I were not informed as it felt like it was always open. Every body was very friendly, food was served fast and it was just as described. We (my wife and I) could have easily shared the soup and one Burger and it would have been enough.Parking: Next to (part of) Captains Golf Course.Wheelchair accessibility: Perfect.“

“Looking to try something different and found this tavern in my search. Took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. Buffalo chicken dip with baked tortilla chips were awesome.WST burger looked amazing. The burger could have used a bit more flavor but it is possible the pulled pork, fried egg, and french toast bun stole the show. The baked haddock was very good, and the steak tips were divine. The fingerling potatoes were perfect.“

“We showed up with half a soccer team & parents and were treated amazing. The staff was great to the kids and so helpful. We were a large party, but they never seemed overwhelmed, and were constantly friendly with us. Food came out fast and was delicious. I highly recommend the steak tip sub and French onion soup. Beers were ice cold and the atmosphere was a Great Fun local vibe. I can’t say enough good things about the staff!! We would definitely come back here.!!“

“The “Sand Dollar” is a local joint that moved to this location a few years ago from about a mile away. It is a typical bar/pub with a bar, lots of tv’s, a dining side, music and karaoke at times. We came in mid afternoon on a quiet Sunday. Place was pretty empty. One couple at a high top on the dining side. Two different couples at either end of the bar and 4 others at a high top on the bar side. Pleasant country music was coming through the speakers all though a bit too loud for so few patrons. Except for the one guy at the bar high top who was loud and couldn’t put together one sentence without an”F” bomb in it, things were quiet. There are numerous large and small screen tvs that had football games on but the sound was off. Thankfully Mr. “F” bomb left shortly after we arrived. It took a few minutes to be seated as the hostess/waitress was in the back part of the restaurant prepping. We were told by our pleasant server to sit anywhere. Wechoose to sit at a high top on the dining side. We were promptly given menus and had our drink order taken. After a few timely minutes we placed our order. We started with naked chicken wings and the Mrs. ordered a burger with cheese and bacon with a side of broccoli. I ordered the Western grilled chicken sandwich with bacon, bbq sauce & onion strings with a side of fries well done. Considering the place was almost empty it took a long time for our food to come out. Probably 20 minutes. When it did finally came out the chicken wings came out with our meals. Appetizers of course shouldn’t be served with your meal. The wings were good but too late. Both of the rolls for our meals were not toasted which is not how most burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches are served. As a result the rolls were a pretty tasteless brioche bun. My grilled chicken was good with lots of bacon and bbq sauce. Unfortunately my onion strings were not there as advertised. But don’t fret, we quickly found them on my wife’s cheeseburger. ? The switch was made and they were back where they belonged. Despite the missing strings and the taste less roll, everything else was very tasty and prepared well. The fries were very good and cooked as requested. They were somewhere between regular fries in size and steak fries. I’m not a fan of regular steak fries( too much more potato than fry) but because these were like a steak fry on a diet they were just the right blend of both for an excellent french fry. The Mrs. said her burger was very good also despite the blah roll, but her broccoli was room temperature at best and should have been warmer. Overall for our first try things were good not perfect. My 4 star service is a reflection of the service from the kitchen not our waitress. She did a fine job and none of my complaints are directed at her. As this was our first trip to the Sand Dollar and more things were good than bad we will be coming again some time to try something else on their pretty good sized menu.sit anywhereDietary restrictions: Didn’t see any GF options on the menu, which is a concern if we were to bring our grandson. “We went to dinner here on Friday 8.18.23 at about 7pm for our daughter's 27th Birthday. There were 5 of us in total. We were seated, right away, at a high top table- which was great. Our server was excellent. We ordered some drinks which came right away. My husband ordered a burger, I ordered the brisket sandwich. My daughter and her girlfriend ordered a pasta dish and buffalo chicken. Our son got chicken tenders.My husband, son and my dishes came out first. The server went to get the girls dishes. During that time my husband cut his burger in half. It was absolutely raw. He ordered medium. When the server returned with the other meals he looked at the burger and said "did you order it mooing?". We laughed and he took it back to the kitchen. All perfectly fine. When he returned with a new burger that was not raw, a manager was with him. The server was gracious and kind, apologizing for the error and said he is taking the burger off the check. The manager then stepped forward, and in a VERY rude tone asked my husband to cut his burger, and said "I want to make sure you aren't going to send it back again".It comes off ok when I write it out, but believe me when I say... it was said in a rude and condescending tone.My husband kept his cool, even though I know he wanted to tell that manager to shove the burger where the sun doesn't shine. It was our daughters dinner and we did not want to make an issue.They did take the burger off the bill, which we appreciated the SERVER very much.The 2nd burger was just OK. The kids ate their meals, which they reported as "pretty good". My brisket was pretty bland, but saved by the horseradish sauce which was delicious.We won't go back. Even if the food was amazing, we didn't like the feeling of being talked to like that from anyone, never mind management.I'd like to stress again, it sounds in writing like the manager was just making sure my husband was happy with the newly cooked burger... which would have been appreciated.He was RUDE. He was visually annoyed and had a wicked tone. We were embarrassed, like he was implying we got the 1st burger and some how reversed the cooking process to make it raw and complain. Funny, it was our SERVER who said first that our burger was still Mooing!!!!Anyways, I know less than great reviewers get torn apart so I have thought over a week about if I would review. I decided I'd rather give an honest review about an ok meal with a great server and a terrible manager, than not say a thing.“
