“This restaurant has been a go to for me and my family going to back to the 80’s. Consistently good food, some dishes being great!! They did close recently to renovate & our 1st meal there after the renovation was not as delicious as before the new interior makeover.“

“This place was amazing!! It was "date night". We were both very satisfied with the place, our food and our interactions with employees. We started with the fried potato pancakes, Delicious!! He had the chicken and waffles and I had the Cali BLT w/ onion rings. The portions are great and the prices are right!! I definitely recommend checking them out.“

“Passed through for an event in Lakeville, CT. There are very few restaurants worth mentioning in the Berkshires, but Prairie Whale is easily one of the best. Will definitely not compete with what's available in NYC or Boston, but Prairie Whale still proudly serves as a beacon, reminding this quiet community that somewhere out there somebody still believes you deserve to experience flavor. Their cornbread is genuinely stellar though. Whatever you do, get an order of that for the table first.“

What really made the experience stand out, though, was the service. Linda was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing. She made sure everything was perfect and added a personal touch that you don’t always find these days.

“They somehow managed to combine the friendliness of a local pub with the food of a fine restaurant. Highly recommend this gem. Havent tried the pizza place nectdoor but the wood fired oven makes pizza that looks delicious. I am a beer drinker but the cocktails look great! No, its not cheap but qhat is these days?“

“First time guest. Had the most charming stay at Race Brook Lodge. I arrived in the evening and followed a path down to where I was staying: a sweet, charming, rustic cottage room. The bed was enormous and inviting, there was a nook off of the room with an additional sleeper. No tv, just the sounds of the evening outside. It was a little chilly and they had heaters ready for use. The bed was very comfortable and I had a great sleep.

In the morning, I followed another path to the dining area where I was greeted by the staff, who were super-friendly and warm. Overnight guests were greeted by the staff like they were family (they seemed to be regular guests) and the breakfast was delicious. I took a quick dip in the pool and used the sauna, then went for a hike. It was the perfect getaway from my stress. Would come back here again 100%.“
