The Port Restaurant Reviews
Food was kinda gross, everything else was fine. Not worth $100 per person.
Food was good, service was great initially. Ellie was our waitress and although new (she told us she was), she was fabulous. Unfortunately a wedding party rehearsal came in while we were dining which was fine, as they were on the deck, however it completely slowed service. The poor servers couldn't even get through the crowds to bring food to their tables. Clearly the space for the party was not enough and affected all others dining at the time. The Port Restaurant is a popular spot for outdoor dining on a busy street and sidewalk scene, especially during happy hour when $1.50 oysters are offered between 3-5 pm. The clam chowder is a highlight, though some find it heavy on potatoes, and the seafood lover's dream comes true with the seafood vendor unloading fresh oysters right before your eyes. The outdoor bar area is a lovely spot to relax in Adirondack chairs and enjoy a cold beer, although some guests have noted that beer prices can be high, ranging from $10 to $14. The menu boasts delicious lobster bisque, breaded haddock, and mouth-watering ribs served with exceptional cornbread, all delivered with efficient and friendly service. Visitors often comment on the prompt greeting and seating, with some noting that the atmosphere can vary between lively and casual, depending on the time of day. The oysters are consistently praised as delicious, and pairing options like mango carts complement them well. While some find the prices high and feel that other Cape Cod restaurants offer better value, the overall experience remains positive for many guests. However, some have pointed out issues with service, citing a bartender's attitude that detracts from the experience. Despite occasional minor inconveniences like unexpected fees and mixed flavors in some dishes, the friendly staff and tasty food make The Port Restaurant a favorite for outdoor dining and happy hour specials.
