“Service was excellent. Table for 4 in quiet nook of main dining area. Excellent drinks. Duck confit appetizer with pecan/pear/beet salad made an excellent dinner. “Thoreau's is the pub area of twenty-eight Atlantic at the Wequassett Resort in Cape Cod. We dined here one night, and at twenty-eight Atlantic the other night. Both experiences were fantastic. We loved the decor of Thoreau's, which is a little more laid back. All the paneled wooded walls in the dining room are really nice, but most importantly, the food and service at this establishment are fantastic! Both restaurants are a must visit, especially if you're staying at the resort.“
“I was limited in what I could order because of food allergies, but what I got was delicious (veggie tacos and fries)! Thank goodness they have a dedicated fryer for their french fries because they are delicious! I really appreciate the patience and thorough answers I received as I asked all the food allergy questions.Vegetarian options: There are two vegetarian meal options and three sides, a good number for the size of their menu.Dietary restrictions: I have a bunch of food allergies, the main problems while dining out being wheat and beef. They thoroughly answered all 947 questions I asked, and I was able to safely order the veggie tacos on corn tortillas and french fries, which is not a safe item for me most of the time. I would have loved to order the veggie burger on a gluten free bun but it's not fried in the dedicated fryer.“
“Our group of 4 visited the Scargo Cafe as newcomers, and the experience was even better than we had heard! First off, the Cape in early-March is practically shutdown for the winter, so finding an open restaurant is a challenge in itself. But not only was Scargo Cafe open, it was a quite filled with customers. Nonetheless, the service was prompt, friendly and experienced. Drinks orders were taken within a couple minutes and delivered soon thereafter (nice selection of wines and draft beers!). The menu had a wide diversity of choices, quite impressive. We ordered the special beef stir fry, grilled swordfish with rice/asparagus, and shrimp asian salad (w/ almonds+cranberries). Topped off by grape-nut custard (a house specialty). Everything was excellent and filling. Will certainly return when back to the Cape.“

“My husband and I had our Wedding rehearsal dinner on Lobster Roll Cruises this past August. What an incredible experience it was! The service was amazing all night long. The drinks were killer, the food was spectacular, and the vibe was perfect! The best lobster roll I’ve EVER had, hands down. Cruising along Sesuit harbor provided incredible views and special memories for us and our guests! The price was also totally reasonable and beyond worth it, our friends and family had a BLAST it was the perfect way to kick off our Wedding weekend. “The Beacon Room is a must do. We ventured upon The Beacon Room last year and had such a great experience that we talked about it throughout the year. We knew when we came back this fall we had to go again. The atmosphere is welcoming, restaurant is cozy and warm. The food.... Amazing. Staff.. amazing. In particular, Brian. We made early reservations for a hi-top (definitely make reservations). We asked if the bar was available when we arrived and it turns out it was.. which is what we hoped for. We had such a great experience with Brian last time, so this was a great surprise. Brian is attentive, personable, listens and very knowledgeable of cocktails and food recommendations. He interacts with customers, knows what they like.. all while handling a full bar. You can also share with Brian what you're thinking of ordering and what appetizer might pair up well with that. He's spot on, too! This year we had the Burrata app.. amazing. Lovely toasted bread with garlic, greens and fresh cherry tomatoes. We ordered the duck (as did I last year) and the NY strip, rare. Both came with the phenomenal Brussel sprouts, mashed potatoes and cranberry sauce. Absolutely fantastic. We each ordered dirty martinis , which were delicious and made perfectly. We will definitely be back next year and will continue to highly recommend The Beacon Room. If you are visiting the cape, we highly recommend you add this gem to your places to visit. You won't be disappointed.“
“My first trip to the New England area found me a mission to find the best clam chowder. Without any doubts, Impudent Oyster was my favorite. To make sure that it wasn’t just luck or hunger, we came back for a second time. Though a little on the pricey side, the food made it worth my money. I am learning that crowded spaces are the norm in the northeast states. That said, if you don’t mind sharing your space with others dining at the same time, it is a great place to have great food!Parking: Thankfully, our hotel was close enough to walk. “We recently stayed at the Orleans Waterfront Inn for a wedding. The hotel is centrally located and a good launching spot to explore the outer cape. The view of the cove from our bedroom was lovely and the wedding reception/ festivities were also great. Everyone working at the inn was very friendly and more than accommodating. The rooms were also clean and comfortable.“
“Wonderful restaurant....with a large bar area in a separate area.We split a large ceasar salad between 3...it could have fed 4 or more.Scallops were plentiful...Lamb chops were seasoned perfectly....over white beans....and the asparagus was cooked perfectly as well.The steaming bowl was full of seafood over a small amount of pasta. “Great seafood market - Helpful staff. Large variety of fish. We ordered the seafood sausage to go - amazing. Casing was a little tough, but will remove it next time I cook it. The sausage, I believe, was filled with shrimp, scallops and fish. Excellent. They also offered a couple different breads - the multi grain was also excellent.“
“The busy places had a ridiculous wait time. So we drove to this place. The decor isnt welcoming, its more of a sports bar than family dining. Food was pleasantly surprising. Hostess was friendly. We got calamari, mac and cheese, fisherman's platter and broiled scallops. Everything was very good. Give this place a consideration. The food wont disappoint.“

“Booked for 6:30. Table was ready 15 minutes before arrival. Service was friendly and checked on us often even while busy. Mai Thais were delicious. The sushi came out very quickly. The flavors were immaculate especially with the Cape Cod Monster. The Crème Brûlée was a perfect way to end the night. My girlfriend had never had one before and it did not disappoint. Definitely coming back sometime in the future.“

“It is hard to differentiate yourself as a breakfast place, but my measure is the corned beef hash. I have it whenever I try a new breakfast place. The Wee Packet has the best I have ever had - anywhere. Pure natural flavor, not overstuffed with potatoes, not too salty, not too mushy. And they serve so much of it that it is never old or stale. I will make a special trip to the Cape just to have breakfast here and I am 2 hours away. 10 out of 10.“
