“What can I say, I've been going here for over a decade and I love this place! The staff are very friendly. The eating area is clean, tables, floors, and walls are natural wood which gives it a really nice feeling. A lot of antiques hang from the ceiling and there are beautiful murals on the walls. Bathrooms are clean. My only pet peeve, I wish they would clean that beautiful big mirror behind the bar. Years ago I watched the staff removing the liquor bottles, wiping them off and cleaning the mirror. It has a nice sparkle when it's clean. It's usually one of the first things I notice when I come in and lately it looks like it hasn't been cleaned since. Lol It has a grimy look to it. But I'm not eating off the mirrors so I can live with it.It's located downtown. The theme of the restaurant is of course New Orleans, Southern, and jazzy. The only issue can sometimes be parking. Especially after the pandemic when they removed some of the parking spaces for outdoor dining. You have to find metered parking on the streets. There is a parking lot next door but it's too expensive. I normally find parking because I avoid rush hour and busy weekends. Prices are very reasonable and portions are generous and priced well.Normally, you are greeted at the door. After they seat you, they offer a bowl of fresh popcorn. The food is excellent! Very very rarely have I had an issue with my food but if you do have an issue, let them know right away. They will quickly rectify the issue and replace the item. I've tried almost everything on the menu. Lol My favorite, in a nutshell, are the slow-cooked ribs and the brisket. The brisket I usually need to smother in barbecue sauce though because sometimes it's a little too dry. Their barbecue sauces are amazing and homemade. My favorite is their bourbon sauce. Their BBQ smoked burger is amazing! The cheese is real cheese, leafy green lettuce, crispy fried onions, and BBQ sauce. I don't eat it with mayo or ketchup because I don't think it needs it. It comes with waffle fries but I substitute it for another side. My favorite sides are their collard greens, mashed potatoes, and their cornbread with honey butter. I like their baked beans as well but you can tell the cooks that make them season and cook them differently and don't always follow the same recipes. Sometimes it's amazing and sometimes it's just okay. This is not a big deal. Their desserts are amazing as well. I love their bread pudding. Their alcoholic beverages are great. They have a nice menu selection. They have a stage for live bands, usually for weekends after 9:00 p.m. You can check out their calendar of events on their website and it will list the bands that are performing that weekend. If you can't make it often, try not to miss their Mardi Gras every year in February! I went for my birthday once and tried not to miss it every year since. They have a special New Orleans food and drink menu during Mardi Gras and an excellent band playing. Staff are super prompt with your food and very friendly. I have been to New Orleans and it gives me the exact same vibe as the big easy. Some of the underground bars there very are similar and really laid back. This is and will probably always be one of my favorite places to go in the city. It is truly a gem.“
“What a gem! Everything I have tried is amazing. Fantastic specials, including the red, white, and blue burger which is the best burger I have EVER had. I can't say enough about the tacos on Tuesday and the amazing hotdog choices on Thursdays. Excellent, creative cocktails and beer selection. Can't wait to come back.“
“Ok, we eat out quite a bit. A huge favorite of ours is Ebenezer's! The food is excellent, quick, and hot. The service is tremendous, courteous, and always asking if everything is good. We always meet someone who we make friends with. It's just a great place to meet and chill out with an adult beverage and a great meal. Thank you Ebenezer's! Can't wait to go to the Whiskey Barrel!“
“I am only going to give this restaurant a four star review because I have not actually been there and so I can't speak to the ambience. My order was DoorDash to me at my hotel. I was shocked by what a great meal I got. I dinner consisted of five perfectly cooked to my request, lamb chops, mashed potatoes, and beautifully crisp, green beans, and carrots. A decent but unspectacular salad accompanied it. But those lamb chops! I would highly recommend the food.“
“Great place to stop in and watch live sport - several large screens, and the atmosphere is GREAT, or to just chill and play pool. Staff are friendly, and provide great service. Enjoyed watching Sunday football with my family while having some drinks and food. Drink and food menu have a good variety. Everything was delicious! Great experience overall!“
“Our server was very sensitive to our food allergies/ challenges. She ensured we received food that was tasty and safe for everyone in our party.Dietary restrictions: Our server confirmed the allergies of each person. The chef tailored each dish to our needs.“
“# colonialcafe, Chicopee has amazing food, especially for the price! They have taco Tuesdays where they offer $2 tacos that are huge. And on Fridays did you fish on Fridays. Usually I eat there twice a week Tuesdays and Fridays I just started going there about a month ago the staff are friendly. I typically will get two to three meals out of the serving size that they give you! And their prices to begin with are extremely cheap. There is another place that does fish as a Fisherman's Platter and charges just under $40, Colonial Cafe only charges just over $25 in the plate size is just as big if not bigger! Cooked fresh and ready to go if you're ordering take out they do have a phone number where you can call in advance just tell them EJ sent you! Don't be sure to take good care of you. I have no Financial benefit for recommending this place my benefit is effectively good care of me when I'm there and I'm sure they'll do the same for you. Happy eating“
“Good vibe with a good crowd of older mature people. Drink prices very reasonable as well. Music was on point with the old school R and B and hip hop with other genre of music from freestyle to afrobeats. Didn't get a chance to try the food but the wings smelled soooo good ?. Definitely be back and will try the wings next visit. Only reason not a 5 because I didn't try the food. Other than that you want a good respectful crowd and good music and drinks check them out.“
“We had a great time!! The food was fabulous and plentiful. We started with the steak tips and gorgonzola cheese - powerful flavors that stood up to each other. Our waiter, James was attentive and what a crooner, along with Kyle. We got a show! The French onion soup was hot and tasty. We both got chicken dishes, the francaise was buttery & lemony, the marsala was flavorful; the risotto was rich and a nice alternative to pasta. Everyone there was so welcoming: Tony, James and Kyle. Thanks for a memorable night!“
“Enjoyed a very nice evening here with a couple of friends. The waitress was pleasant the food and drinks were great and it was a nice place. Extra credit to our waitress. I hadn't seen these friends for a while and I'm sure we overstayed the acceptable time at a table. She was very nice about it. Checked in our table regularly but didn't hover.“
“Small place but the Food packs a punch. I've always wanted to stop in and try and I can't believe how long it took me to do so. I was greeted by the bar tender that pretty much helped me all she could . I ordered the fish and chips and some hot wings . She really didn't know to much about the fish and chips but I ordered anyway. I tried to play a quick pick of the numbers game while waiting and she wasn't able to understand the machine even offering me to look to see if I could figure it out. I declined and we laughed about it. She was a very nice lady tho! The food arrived to me in a quick fashion and I was pleased! I drove about 2 miles away and The fish was still crunchy although it was placed in a To go container without vent holes. The tarter sauce was definitely homemade the coleslaw and seasoned fries were good but you could tell they were commercially prepared. Looking at some other reviews about the food I was hoping for a hand cut fry option! I will definitely go back and would recommend to everyone“
“I didn't know what this place was. Its known as HP bar and grill now. But every since we 1st came about a month ago we've been returning weekly. Open mic night on Wednesdays. That's what we go for now. Great food, great atmosphere, great drinks.“
