“We love Sandpiper. We love the staff, the food, the atmosphere and the convenience. As a small, local business owner, I have zero problem with their transparent pricing. We offer the same. It’s crazy that somehow transparency is being spun as a bad thing in some of these reviews. Any way I could go on and on about the cost of running a small business, but most people don’t care bc they aren’t in the arena. Their primary concern is the extra .45 their croissant costs. We are regulars. We order for our family and our clients. Everything is exceptional. I particularly love the salmon toast, almond croissant, tapos for a quick sweet, any of their counter sandwiches, grain bowl and the chick pea soup! I’m sure my kids have their favorites too. And my husband will eat literally everything there. Heading over this afternoon and hope to grab 2 of the homemade chicken pot pies for family dinner! When my mother reached end of life, their quiches were the only thing she would eat. I would grab a coffee and 2 quiche on the way to hospice and be sure she ate something amazing with me. The hospice staff was not happy with me but that didn’t phase me one bit. Because of this Sandpiper will always have a special place in my heart. This bakery is popular! Be prepared to wait, look at their menu in advance. Have a back up option in mind. No matter what you choose, you will not be disappointed!“
“The bagels here are excellent, and everything there is at a great price point for breakfast food. I enjoy them just as much as Abraham's in Newburyport. I only wish they would open a little sooner. I often get there at 7AM to find it not open yet. Hopefully if they get more business they will want to open earlier.“
“The Northshore breakfast sandwich is purely addicting and has become my occasional goto. However, I do feel that they get their counter staff from the RMV reject pile. If I'm paying $18 for a really good breakfast sandwich and a very average cold brew, I do not think it's too much to ask for a smile and to be thanked for my business. I was standing with three other customers and we were all in agreement.“
“It's so great to have the smell of fresh bread on Cabot Street! My favorite thing is the Ham & Gruyere Croissant - you can ask them to warm it up a bit for you and it's just the breakfast snack.Parking: There is metered parking on Cabot St or Broadway“
“I absolutely love this place. It's hard to write down everything I love, lol. I started going here as a customer, and now I get to work here! The atmosphere is so inviting, the employees and the aroma of delicious baked goods greet you as soon as you walk in. There is everything you want in an Italian bakery, from Italian pastries to the most delicious sandwiches. Everything is homemade and made with love. 10 out of 10, I recommend this place to EVERYONE!Dietary restrictions: There are options for vegetarians, people who are gluten free and even a couple of vegan options!“
“We had a wonderful lunch like always at Middle Street. Their bread is just outstanding making anything on it that much better.Their baked goods are out of this world. I had their bostock a week or so earlier and couldn't wait to come back in and have another! I did today and it did not disappoint!Service is very friendly and timely for a made to order lunch.“
“My wife and I found this place in late 2022, and were about to order our 6th cake with them since. They are so above and beyond and very gracious. The cakes are like art work and they have such creativity. You live locally to the northshore and particularly the Beverly- Salem area.. this is the place to make your desserts.“
“The best bagels in the north shore in my opinion. French toast, plain, all flavor and asiago are always extremely fresh (almost as if they're baked within the hour) #1 - bacon, egg, tomato w/ ghost pepper cheese is great with adding ham. Sausage, egg and cheese on a french toast is the holy grail. French toast bagel with walnut maple cream cheese is a delicious breakfast option.“
“Pure Pastry is and always will be a part of our big moments in life. Pure Pasty has been at our wedding, our baby shower, all of our birthdays and all of our holidays. We look forward to Pure Pastry being at every event. I have celiac disease and my husband does not. We have had gluten free and non gluten free desserts. Everything from this company is delicious, unique and beautiful. No matter who you speak with from Pure Pastry everyone is kind and willing to help you.“
“I’ve ordered here three times already and all three times have been delicious and consistent. Their breakfast burritos hit the spot and the salted caramel oat milk macchiato was SO GOOD!! When I say RUN don’t walk to this cafe I mean it!! This place deserves a full 5 star google rating, 4.7 doesn’t do them justice!!! New favorite breakfast spot hands down!!“
“We were referred to whoopie wagon by the agawan dinner when we called looking for a glutton free desert. We immediately called and had a great phone service experience. Fast forward, day before thanksgiving we pick them up at their very nice hip shop. Love the place, whoopies are outta this world. We had a few different flavors .Sooo Delish. Will be back soon.“
“This is only in regards to a first time visit. I have not eaten anything from CF yet. It’s on a main road but not a very busy road…convenient and easy to find. Tons of great stuff from baked goods to soups/chowders, meats, sauces, breads etc. don’t go hungry ? with that said, I got soup, chili and some meats. I hope to return here to as onto this review or add another after I’ve enjoyed this food. Hoping for total satisfaction!“
“Essex is truly lucky to have Googans! I work right around the corner and it is wonderful having a go to spot for lunch or a mid week bakery treat. My office loves their brownies and most recently their amazing chicken pot pie pasta as well as their carrot cake donuts.“
“My recent visit to Olive's Coffee & Bakehouse in Newburyport, MA, was an absolute delight, and I'm excited to share my experience. From the moment I stepped inside, I was enchanted by the charming decor, which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's clear that every detail has been thoughtfully curated to ensure a cozy and pleasant visit. One of the highlights of my visit was discovering their mint matcha latte - a refreshing and innovative twist on the classic matcha latte. It was perfectly balanced, offering a delightful combination of flavors that I hadn't experienced before. This drink alone is worth a visit! The staff at Olive's Coffee & Bakehouse deserves a special mention for their friendliness and excellent service. They were attentive, welcoming, and genuinely seemed to enjoy their work, which added to the overall positive ambiance of the cafe. The food was nothing short of fantastic. The pastries and breakfast options were plentiful and all looked tempting. I particularly enjoyed the chia seed pudding and the frittata, both of which were flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. The chia seed pudding was the perfect blend of texture and taste, while the frittata was cooked to perfection, packed with ingredients that melded together wonderfully.Overall, Olive's Coffee & Bakehouse is a gem in Newburyport. It's the perfect spot for anyone looking for delicious food, great drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for a truly delightful experience. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!“
“I got the most beautiful and delicious cake from Buttermilk. I was stunned by the gorgeous cakes they had ready for sale, and got the lemon raspberry cake with macrons on top. It was soooo gorgeous, and tasted as good as it looked! The friend I got it for was so excited and happy. I will definitely get my future cakes from Buttermilk!“
“A huge thanks to Cookie Monstah for the ability to rent out one of their trucks for our daughter’s and son-in-law’s Welcome Party the night before their wedding, Memorial Day weekend. They allowed for them to make their own combinations of ice cream cups/cookies and to name them - the names were based on the neighborhoods where they had lived in the North End. The service was great and the ice cream and cookies were top-notch! Thanks to Janelle for all her help in making this such a special occasion!“
“We’ve been wanting to come here for quite a while. We unfortunately arrived a couple minutes after closing but were kindly let in. All the donuts we got were INCREDIBLE (even for at the end of the day). The sweetness level was perfect — not overpoweringly sweet like most places. I’ve tried local donut places all over New England and I can confidently say that these are the best I’ve ever had. My favorite was the strawberry frosted — the glaze tasted like ACTUAL strawberries. The maple bacon was such a fun flavor too! The hospitality of this place was phenomenal. I’m looking forward to coming again!!!“
“Wow, wow, wow! Came here on a recommendation from a friend that works at Tendercrop Farm down the street. My husband and I were surprised to see so many cars coming in and out of the sizeable parking lot. Taking it as a good sign, we headed into the beautiful building. The line was long, but worth the wait! We grabbed a beautiful load of herb Parm sourdough, a cinnamon donut, a brioche chocolate mousse roll, ham and cheese croissant, two passion fruit tarts and two coffees. Came to a very reasonable total of $41. The coffee is great, and so far we've only tried the cinnamon donut but....WOW! It is so light and airy and delicious! Very very pleased. We were looking for a bakeshop near us ever since Bird & Wolf shutdown, and we are thrilled to find this gem that's only 10min away from our home.Only suggestion would be to possibly consider a slightly better system for order fulfillment. A single cashier who is also responsible for picking and packing everything leads to a bottleneck. Can't wait to go on a Friday night and try the dinner portion of this place. Really pleased!“
“I called from NH after looking for over an hour for a last minute cupcake delivery for a VERY sick family member coming home from the hospital. Topsfeild Bake shop went above and beyond to help and deliver. Once they were delivered my family group text went on for hours as to how delicious and delighted they were with the delivery process. The photo they sent me was beyond what I expected especially for last minute. I can’t wait to stop in and buy some goodies next time I am in town!“
“I love Dianne's Fine Desserts so much, especially the lemon squares! This place is definitely worth checking out if you need to bring desserts somewhere. The prices are good, the desserts are amazing and if you buy slices of cakes it's buy one get one! Who can say no to two pieces of cake for the price of one!Parking: Tons of parking out frontKid-friendliness: Yes, but it's small inside and there isn't anything for them to do other than pick out a treat and eat at a little table.“
“So much more than Bagels. I love the chicken salad sandwich on a sesame bagel with onion and cucumbers. Or you can go with an egg sandwich, or my second go-to, the Lox bagel with capers, red onion, and tomato. If you are carb conscience, ask for it "scooped" and they will spoon out the bagel so you get mostly crust with what seems like more filling! You can even grill or toast your bagel sandwich in butter or plain and make it crispy. Great place, with great owners, and a good value, win.“
