“Over the past 4 months or so I have called with various questions, mostly having to do with your chicken pies. Every time I have called the person who answered my call was able to answer my questions quickly and politely. I appreciate the efficient service as that seems to be a rarity these days. “I am a huge fan of key lime pie and have sampled it at pretty much every opportunity. Each time, I find something that isn’t an A+. The crust is too grainy or crumbly, the bakery has added meringue (which I like on lemon but not lime), or—and this is the most common offender—there is entirely too much lime in the recipe. But the key lime pie I had at Caramel was exceptional in every possible way, especially in its balance of lime flavor. I didn’t try anything else there, so I can’t vouch for the macarons or other goodies, but if you love key lime pie, RUN to this bakery!“

““Pure Pastry” was highly recommended by “Cakes for Occasions” because they couldn’t make a Vegan cake. So I called and asked Kim to make my son who is a Vegan an all Vegan birthday cake. We were all pleasantly surprised at how delicious and moist his chocolate cake was with vanilla cream frosting with strawberries in the middle and on top was. Five people ate this cake and we all loved the taste. It looked beautiful too. Another thing I also love about this bakery is the cake box. The cake fit in the box very nicely and on the top you could see the cake through a see through film which was an elegant touch. My son’s cake was so good that I had to order a Vegan strawberry vanilla cake for my birthday too. I can’t wait to get it. Kim is so very friendly and such a nice person and she is very easy to get a hold of on the phone. I very highly recommend Kim and “Pure Pastry” for all of your pastry needs.“

“Do not miss this spot if you are visiting Salem. We had treats from our Air B&B which caused us to go in person. Everything was lovely, delicious and fresh. Customer service was fantastic. We had croissants, a bagel sandwich, fresh bread, the most amazing cookies and, my favorite, the spinach and leek puff with everything seasoning. The coffee was great too. Thanks so much!“

“My daughter’s wedding cake was absolutely delicious. From the communication to the finished product, it was a great experience and they certainly have earned our family’s business. Sometimes you attend a wedding and they are trying to send cake home with everyone, there was nothing left to send. The guests loved it and most importantly, so did the bride and groom. “There is a variety of bread that is most similar to Salvadoran bread and it is good but I don't like that the customer serves themselves and there are customers who are not very clean and try to reach for the bread that is placed at the back and that way they drag themselves past. sleeve of his jacket the bread that is placed on the edge, that is, in front and I don't like that. In my opinion, it should be the store saleswoman who delivers the bread to customers so that it is cleaner this way.“

Note to the first reviewer below: If the cookie is called burnt sugar and fennel shortbread, you certainly should expect to find fennel in the cookie! If you don't want fennel, don't order cookies that have fennel in their names.“

“Probably the only place in the area that actually uses a fresh fried egg! I’ve tried every single other coffee shop in Salem and Crave remains my favorite by a longshot. They use actually quality ingredients (not a microwave) and compared to other coffee shops, are actually quite reasonable for the area. Service is always friendly too :)“

D & D’s. I ordered 4 carne empanadas and 2 jamón y queso
croissants. Empanadas were tasty and moist. Colombian place so the empanadas have potato in them. I prefer the ones I get when in Caribbean just spicy beef or chicken. Can’t seem to find a place in Revere / East Boston that make them that way. But over all good place, I’ll be back“

“I've been eager to try this bakery since it took over! I'm so glad i did! We initially went in to get one thing each, and both of us left with a whole lot more than we intended to buy! The pastelitos were so amazingly fresh and delicious, and he made my Mango smoothie with a whole fresh mango! The flan was out of this world, and my friends Caramel Cake tasted like heaven! Even the french fries we got were fantastic! The gentleman who helped us (I'm guessing it was one of the owners) was so incredibly friendly, he definitely made two more local customers! We can't wait to try slices of his other cakes,as well as the other items listed on his menu! Great amount of food for the price as well! All around, a great guy, a great business!“

“Not too bad of a place to PU or deliver. No overnight parking on site. I got there early for my pickup and had to wait about an hr then got a dock and was out in less than a hr. The backing can be a little tight depending on which dock u get. But it's not too bad.“
