“First time visiting their new larger location, and I can't say enough good things about this place. Comfortable environment, great service, and such a wonderful menu. If you're a foodie, but your picky friend eats like a drunken toddler, you will both love the variety of wonderful dishes.“
“Truly the best experience in the Berkshires! Delicious wines & beers, friendly owners & staff, beautiful scenery overlooking Richmond pond and the Berkshire mountains, plenty of chairs, tables and area to sit and enjoy, kid & dog-friendly, great food trucks, wonderful musical entertainment, and a renovated barn for large parties. We are so lucky to have Balderdash here!!“

“Almost every trip to Pittsfield requires a stop into The Spot for one of their juices, smoothies, or my favorite Açaí Bowl in the country. I travel to many states and always try their açaí bowl offerings. Only one in. Colorado came close, but The Spot is still number 1!! Can’t wait until they open Bear Butter in Great Barrington.“

“Joe’s Diner is hands down the best spot for breakfast in The Berkshires. Awesome prices and the quality of the food is unbeatable. Scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, bacon was crisp, and the shredded hash browns were amazing. The over-easy eggs were done just right, the pancake was the perfect size and fluffy. A great classic American diner, which we love. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. We'll stop by every time we’re in town.
NOTE: they only accept cash but have an ATM on site.“

“If you want to eat a very good brunch you should come to Roses restaurant, it is clean, nice and the staff are very friendly and also they are bilingual . The food was delicious and you can feel a mix of good flavors at the same time you see the effort and time that the chef put in each plate. This restaurant has a multicultural menu which is very good for the family. I love it and I will come back again.“

“Friendly staff, fabulous food, fun atmosphere!“
“We enjoyed our stay at the historic Red Lion Inn. The Inn did not disappoint in the area of ambiance, and quaintness. The Inn holds a beautiful, and elegant state of appearance in every regard. We found the suite to be accommodating and more than abundant for our needs. The comfort of the room and bed were top tier. We have zero complaints about that.
Our main issue was that lack of assistance w/ our dining reservations. Ed, the gentleman that checked us in seemed to matter of factly brush off any attempt to find us reservations for the restaurant and mentioned they were already “fully committed.” We’ve never stayed in this town and had no clue that there’s only one restaurant. In their defense, they recommend reservations in their pre-trip email. So, I’ll take the credit on that side of it.
However, we were forced to drive 10-15 mins to Lee, to dine elsewhere. We stayed at the Inn with the intention of “staying” at the Inn. That lack of accommodation felt haughty, and not something we are interested in engaging.
Second issue was related to parking and luggage. For those who opt to stay here, you’re likely going to be dragging your luggage a football fields length through mud, unless you want to block traffic/cars. The restaurant shares parking w/ the Inn guests so it’s first come, first served. Unfortunately, we came in at dinner time and that was rough. One wide open lot says “Guests Towed”, so I would avoid that section.“

“Haven has been our go-to spot for brunch and lunch for over five years, and it has never disappointed. From the moment you walk in, they have delicious seasonal specials and a wide assortment of delectable baked goods from lemon cake slices, special turtle bars, chocolate squares, carrot cake, to ginger molasses cookies, among many others. This place has become a true favorite for good reason—the food is always fresh, with an emphasis on local ingredients that shine in every dish.
The menu is a beautiful balance of comfort and creativity, with seasonal offerings that highlight the best of what’s available. Whether you're enjoying their signature smoked salmon eggs benedict, a grilled pesto mozzarella chicken sandwich, a hearty soup, or a fresh salad, the quality of the ingredients is always top-notch. The savory baked goods are also such a treat, including their ham and gruyere biscuits. Pair them with one of their aromatic lattes (our favorite is the earl grey vanilla or jasmine maple latte) or creative seasonal drinks, and you’ve got yourself a perfect meal.
What really sets Haven apart, though, is the friendly atmosphere. The staff has always been warm and welcoming. It's clear that many regulars feel the same way, as it’s often very busy from the moment they open until they close. It’s a place that’s equally perfect for catching up with friends and family or enjoying a peaceful solo meal.
Haven even offers holiday meals, including Thanksgiving and Christmas specials. This Thanksgiving, we were far away from other family members and due to a busy work schedule, we tried their Thanksgiving dinner and it was great!
Despite being a local favorite and always busy, the service is consistently excellent, and I never feel rushed or overlooked. It’s no surprise this place has remained a beloved staple for so many years. If you're looking for a spot that combines amazing food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere, Haven is a must-visit!“
