When we found other establishments on New Scotland Ave closing their dining rooms by 9pm on a Saturday night, SakeCafe was graciously open, serving delicious food (we tried a little of everything from sushi to Udon) and with the best tableside service I've experienced in literally years. The restaurant is nicely styled and comfortable. The greeters and wait staff couldn't have been kinder or more professional. $28.99 is worth every penny just for that. The longest we had to wait between orders was no more than 5 minutes. The food was fresh, perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! I really can't find the superlatives to describe it. “This is more than a bar. It is the third space for many of us who call Pine Hills home. The building had previously been home to a bar called Mahars, which was one of the first craft beer bars in the country, before it was the cool thing to do. Madison Pour House has continued the tradition that Mahars began, that being an unrivaled beer selection, solid food, and a strong sense of community. “Fantastic experience earlier this month having Sunday Brunch with my son and our American cousins at Lost & Found. This place is great! The real America, in Albany, away from the well-beaten tourist tracks. Friendly service, great menu, tasty food, and the proprietor is a gent - even let us get group photos on the stage as he hadn’t a band at the time! It was a wet Sunday but we just had a great family get together inside. Not that far from the city centre and worth finding. Very good value as well.“

“This place is so nice and the guy they had out front was awesome. Very friendly and good at making conversation that was appropriate for the situation. As soon as we walked in I could smell how good this place was going to be. The overall atmosphere was a really nice mix of casual and more upscale. Very nice seating arrangements and I loved the nice blue fake fire place. I would definitely recommend them. We also went during a time when it was not very busy about 4pm yet there were still a handful of tables full despite the unpopular time.“

This place has some of the best cocktails I’ve had, easily rivaling overpriced drinks in Manhattan - shout out to Tom!
If you have no idea what you want to drink, no worries, talk to the bartenders, they’ll help you, might even whip up something creative on the spot.
Monday nights belong to Brian the bacon guru, baby I eat pork again when I roll up here on a Monday (I pay for it later too, well worth it, lol).

The patrons are some of the most diverse and amazingly chill group of folks I’ve encountered since moving from the multicultural NYC life - Bx to be exact - to the parts up yonder.

The owner, Joe, is one of the kindest humans, and honey like attracts like, because his team definitely match his energy, they are hands down, some of my favorite people up here! Special shout out to Victoria & Corrine ❤️!

“First time here in a very cold evening, it’s like on the back of a building, there’s a park in front of the store, and across the street from it is a huge building with a clock on top that could be an old train terminal.
The chef was really friendly and the chicken sandwich meal was delicious, my daughter was a picky eater, and she just killed that sandwich, the chicken was crispy and tender inside, it was so food, since it’s a cold day we didn’t bother to order ice cream pops, we will definitely come back with friends and visit this eatery again.“

“Today I was at the Wolf Road location on my lunch. Unfortunately when I sat down I set my drink down on the edge of my try and it spilled everywhere! I went to the counter and asked for a towel to clean up my mess. The gentleman working the register told me he’d take care of it. He came over with a towel and smile then clean up the mess I had made. He even refilled my soda which he had no obligation to do. Sorry I didn’t grab his name but he had a red hat on and curly hair in the back. I’m sure you have people making constant messes that needed attending to but you wouldn’t have known by your reaction to my blunder. I’m in a profession where service is a primary focus and this is what great service looks like. Thank you again for your help today!“

“They have a nice happy hour. Good deals on food and drinks. It gets crowed and the happy hour only applies to bar seating. It should cover the high tops in the bar too, you have to stand around at the bar to get food and drinks, if there’s no bar seats available. Even know plenty of high tops are right there and empty.“

“I have dined in Stacks on numerous occasions and I regularly get take out. This is one of my three go to coffee shops in Albany NY. I enjoy the Chai lattes, seasonal soups, sandwiches, and croissants. The only thing they need is Hazelnut syrup for the drinks!“

“I’m a sucker for Bavarian food, so we stopped in to grab a takeaway meal while in town for the night. Overall, the food was just average, but definitely a fun atmosphere.

The potato salad was phenomenal, easily the standout and something I’d happily recommend. The Jägerschnitzel sandwich, however, was missing the oyster mushrooms and schwarzbier gravy listed on the menu (see photo), which was disappointing. We were also expecting the goulash to be more traditional, with chunks of beef; instead, it leaned more toward an Americanized ground-meat style.

While waiting for our food, we enjoyed a beer at the bar. The bartender was friendly and easy to talk to, which made the time fly by. I can absolutely see this being a fun spot for EPL mornings or a casual beer stop, even if the food didn’t quite live up to traditional Bavarian expectations.“
