“My favorite place in the area, as the food is always fresh and delicious! The portions are huge and Sal and his staff are amazing; he can come up with anything even if it’s not listed on the menu. They get busy with lunch rush from the hospital and still manage to get everyone in and out. I highly recommend their spicy falafel gyro! My daughter loves their chopped salmon and her best friend is obsessed with the chopped cheese sandwiches. It gives NYC deli vibes. I come here for lunch every week and have yet to leave unsatisfied. They have vegan options as well and there is something for everyone here.“

Not only did it taste SO GOOD but it was such a fun experience. “I’ve been looking forward to checking out the restaurant, Dove & Deer, since I first encountered their food when their chef was highlighted at the annual Summer Gala fundraiser here in Hudson last year. Their chef served an incredible amuse-bouche with gooseberries and the chef who was there sharing the amuse-bouches was wonderfully charming and the food was incredible! I was so impressed that I’ve been following their social media since then and have been looking forward to visiting the restaurant all the while! I was recently in the area and while I unfortunately wasn’t able to visit the restaurant in person- I was able to order through Door Dash and the meal was incredible! We ordered an assortment of things to share and were thrilled with everything! -Spicy Kale Caesar with shredded kale, croutons, and shaved parmesan! -Truffle Parm Fries with scallions and truffle aioli! -Mini Wagyu Beef Hotdogs made with wagyu beef, served in buttery toasted buns, and topped with mustard, ketchup, and relish! -Hot Lobster Dip made with lobster claw and knuckle meat, gruyere, gouda, fontina, spinach, scallion, and crispy wontons! It is often very difficult for a restaurant to adjust their menu to translate to takeout; and for them to do so where every single dish was not only delicious but also mostly with a great presentation, says a great deal about their attention to detail. This is a restaurant I look forward to dining at again many more times over the years!“

I recommend everything I got pan fried pork dumplings, spicy chicken dumplings, pork filled chili oil wontons, spare rib, and red bean filled buns. I finally made it in person. The service was friendly, and fast. The atmosphere was welcoming and inviting. It was easy to talk. It is a small local restaurant that I highly recommend giving a try! All of the food was delectable. The bubble tea and thai tea was delicious.“

“This place is amazing. I didn't know what to expect going in to the all you can eat restaurant. I was happily surprised that it's not buffet style. Servers and bussers. The restaurant is nicely styled and comfortable. The greeters and wait staff couldn't have been kinder or more professional. $28.99 is worth every penny just for that. The longest we had to wait between orders was no more than 5 minutes. The food was fresh, perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! I really can't find the superlatives to describe it. Everything combined made this experience one of the best outings I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this place.“

And the new building and seating are far superior to those in the prior incarnation. Sonya and her family have done it again! For us, Pad Thai Noodle is an essential fixture in the restaurant scene of the Capital District. Their Green Curry (my favorite) and the signature Pad Thai (my wife’s fave) are simply unmatched around here. Highly and unreservedly recommended.“

“This area and the people who work here are very pleasant a lot of people who go here are not very present but they're all courteous when you go in the polite to some extent. I do like the service I do like what they have in that store and I'll be seeing them again probably although I don't live in that area anymore I appreciate one of the gentleman there that work there he was happy for me that I was leaving and I moved out of that area and I want to thank you very much for saying those kind words to me. As soon as we walked in I could smell how good this place was going to be. The overall atmosphere was a really nice mix of casual and more upscale. We also went during a time when it was not very busy about 4pm yet there were still a handful of tables full despite the unpopular time.“

“Admittedly did not expect to find this gem of a place during our one night trip to Albany for an event. We were exhausted and thought the hotel restaurant would just have to do. Most US based restaurants sorely disappoint in food quality. Mr D’s was truly an exception. The service we received from the time we got in (and were the last two to be seated for the night) was remarkable. From the hostess (Kiosa) to our servers (Jada and Sophie), those were key to our amazing experience. Once we sat at our table where we requested to be away from the noise and door, we knew we were in good hands. The wine selection was curated and Jada knew how to help me pick from a couple of bottles I was not aware of which showed thoughtful training. We ordered the lamb shank special. Which as a south East Asian, I get terrified when non-Asians cook a South Asian inspired flavour fusion. We were glad fully delighted and the corn side was perfectly spiced as well. What stood out to me was my steak and chips which came with one of the best au poivre sauce I’ve had to date. It was not pepper forward but instead felt like an elegant glaze of tender flavours allowing the steak to shine.

Again, utterly surprised by how good the food AND the service was at Mr D’s. If we’re ever passing through Albany again, this is certainly on our list of places to go! Truly, kudos to the team for building talented staff and curating a delicious menu.“

“Had a late lunch/early dinner yesterday. I ordered the “Langosta El Mariachi”. OMG!!! It was beyond delicious! The lobster tails were stuffed with shrimp and scallops with a creamy white sauce and cheese... the green beans seasoned perfectly with fresh garlic, the rice was cooked to perfection. The meal was perfectly plated and resembled a piece of art. I enjoyed every morsel. The lobster,shrimp and scallops were cooked perfectly. The staff is very friendly. The restaurant has a wonderful and warm ambiance and it is very clean. I highly recommend everyone to experience their own dining experience here. You won’t be disappointed. “Great food! Reasonable pricing. Established for many years and the owner is very friendly. I used to come here with my mother before she passed 8 years ago. We would drive up from New Paltz just to do the lunch buffet. That wasn't available, but the chicken korma, lamb korma, vegetable korma and tikka masala were very good. They have a variety of naan. My husband had the jalapeño cheese naan and said it was excellent! We ordered more naan to bring home: garlic, cheese, jalapeño cheese and aloo naan.
