“My favorite place in the area, as the food is always fresh and delicious! The portions are huge and Sal and his staff are amazing; he can come up with anything even if it’s not listed on the menu. They get busy with lunch rush from the hospital and still manage to get everyone in and out. I highly recommend their spicy falafel gyro! My daughter loves their chopped salmon and her best friend is obsessed with the chopped cheese sandwiches. It gives NYC deli vibes. I come here for lunch every week and have yet to leave unsatisfied. It was a rough night with some tears so we were hoping some froyo would be just the fix we needed. The two women working were mopping the floors and closing up for the night but INSISTED that we get our froyo fix despite the fact that they were actually closed. They couldn’t have been nicer and I felt SO BAD but they promised we weren’t inconveniencing them at all. I was beyond impressed with the customer service and work ethic. “As a queer woman in America, with a disability and a service dog... there are many places in this world where I do not feel comfortable, accepted, or even tolerated- much less welcomed. Any time I want to stop into a new place, I get a stomach ache outside, wondering whether people who don't know the ADA, or who don't understand what it's like to be challenged in every doorway for your right to exist, are going to mess up my day. (If you're a person with a service dog, then you know what I mean.) Today, though, I stopped by Cafe Euphoria and finally went in to eat. I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this place exactly as welcoming, warm, and fabulous as everyone had told me it would be. I had just had such a nerve racking morning. All I needed was to sit down worth warm comfort food, and not be bothered. A person in my situation can't take for granted that I can get such a thing in a public place. A lot of people wanna give me notes about the dog. I walked in with my dog, and no one treated me like a pariah or try to tell me I needed to show "papers" to exist in public. Instead, everyone was warm, friendly, and accepting! My dog and I are fairly new to each other. She is completely trained, both in her public access skills and in the tasks she performs to assist me. But in my experience, the whole first year together is really a time of learning to work together and work out any kinks in training. I discovered one today, when a burst of wind suddenly pushed open the door and began flapping papers hung near the door, at exactly the same moment that two guests suddenly stood up to greet each other right next to our table. My dog was surprised, and for a brief moment her training fell apart, with a sharp, brief, yelp of surprise on her part! This is a thing that can happen, even in a well trained dog - they're like people, and we all have our moments. But I've been in many situations where such a thing might have caused all the nasty, snarky little things being whispered around us suddenly get loud and blatant. Technically speaking, a business is not required to allow even a svc dog to misbehave in public, so they could have come over to get gate-keepy over that. (I was pretty embarrassed, as I've had a service dog for my entire adult life and I try to be more pro about it than that. I was actually prepared to just get up and leave, in case anyone was bothered.) But when I looked up, no one was giving me the hairy eyeball! No one was frowning at me, nobody was whispering accusations about my dog not being a "real" service dog. Instead, most people just went on with whatever they were doing, and those who met my eye just smiled warmly, full of acceptance and calm. The server even asked her name, with a bright and sincere smile. God, if you're not a person who is assisted by a service animal, you've NO IDEA both how rare and how special that kind of respectful acceptance can be. EVERYONE wants to patronizingly able- splain to me why they don't think they need to follow the ADA, why they don't think I've got the right to be there, or why they don't "believe," as though their beliefs should matter here, that my dog is really a service dog. This is such a relentless feature of my life that I am flooded with gratitude any time it doesn't happen that way. So much love to Cafe Euphoria! What a lovely, welcoming place. The food was DIVINE! What a welcome change from some of the other places I've been in this region. (Oh the stories I can, and prolly will at some point, tell about businesses not NEARLY this cool!) The fried ice cream dessert was very good. Their chef is terrific - the flavors of the dishes were mouthwatering. Highly recommend Bar Vegan!“

“I’ve been looking forward to checking out the restaurant, Dove & Deer, since I first encountered their food when their chef was highlighted at the annual Summer Gala fundraiser here in Hudson last year. Their chef served an incredible amuse-bouche with gooseberries and the chef who was there sharing the amuse-bouches was wonderfully charming and the food was incredible! I was so impressed that I’ve been following their social media since then and have been looking forward to visiting the restaurant all the while! I was recently in the area and while I unfortunately wasn’t able to visit the restaurant in person- I was able to order through Door Dash and the meal was incredible! We ordered an assortment of things to share and were thrilled with everything! -Spicy Kale Caesar with shredded kale, croutons, and shaved parmesan! -Truffle Parm Fries with scallions and truffle aioli! -Mini Wagyu Beef Hotdogs made with wagyu beef, served in buttery toasted buns, and topped with mustard, ketchup, and relish! -Hot Lobster Dip made with lobster claw and knuckle meat, gruyere, gouda, fontina, spinach, scallion, and crispy wontons! It is often very difficult for a restaurant to adjust their menu to translate to takeout; and for them to do so where every single dish was not only delicious but also mostly with a great presentation, says a great deal about their attention to detail. This is a restaurant I look forward to dining at again many more times over the years!“

“The food was delicious! It’s a casual sit-down eatery with a relaxed atmosphere. They don’t serve alcohol, which is worth knowing ahead of time.

We had the spicy dumplings and the spicy Mala beef noodle soup. The soup came with lightly cubed and fried tofu, tofu sheets, crunchy mushrooms, bean sprouts, lean and tender pieces of beef, and fresh ramen noodles in a very spicy, flavorful broth. The portion was generous—one bowl was big enough for two adults to share. The noodles tasted especially fresh and had just the right amount of chew.

The spicy dumplings were delicious as well. I even took some of the ramen noodles from the soup and dipped them into the spicy chili oil from the dumplings, which was very tasty.

For dessert, we tried the Portuguese custard tarts. They were OK, but I’d still recommend trying them. They’re not super sweet and lean a little more savory—think toasted, buttery croissant.

For two people, the bill came to about $48, including a can of Sprite, a can of seltzer, and tax. I tipped $20 on top of that. Service was pretty good overall.

“Liza's is one of my favorites for lunch in downtown Troy. The menu has healthy and tasty choices made with fresh ingredients. Service has always been friendly and fast, yet you will not be rushed as you sit and savor the dishes. The owner Liza who has created the menu can usually be found working at the restaurant, making sure you will return again. The restaurant is nicely styled and comfortable. The greeters and wait staff couldn't have been kinder or more professional. $28.99 is worth every penny just for that. The longest we had to wait between orders was no more than 5 minutes. The food was fresh, perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! I really can't find the superlatives to describe it.
